Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 871: Cousin, You’re Amazing

Second Aunt Su Yutang pulled her daughter forward: ”Yunyi, you and Yishan are about the same age, you two cousins should interact more in the future.”

Maybe realizing something, she quickly waved at her niece Xia Yirong: ”Yirong, you come over too. The three of you are just a year apart, you should be able to play together the best. In the future, take Yunyi out more often.”

Xia Yirong is a year older than Yunyi, she was originally going to get married in August, but the elder brother-in-law from the husband’s side had an accident. His life was saved, but his leg was crippled.

He finally got out of the hospital, and the sister-in-law kept causing a scene at home, turning the house upside down.

Xia Yirong’s fiancé, Qian Ande, is smart. He simply discussed with the Yue Family to postpone the wedding date and even said if the situation doesn’t improve after the new year, he would propose having a separate household after marriage.

The Xia Family is very satisfied with Qian Ande as a son-in-law, so they agreed.

Xia Yirong smiled and took Yunyi’s hand: ”Second Aunt, don’t worry. Yunyi wasn’t in Beijing before, even if I wanted to find her to play, I couldn’t. Now that she’s back in Beijing, of course, we’ll meet often.”

Xia Yishan also joined in: ”Yes, and there’s me. When the time comes, the three of us sisters will act together.”

Yunyi doesn’t reject the closeness of her maternal relatives; she can clearly feel their genuine affection for her: ”Okay, it’s settled then. We’ll stay in touch often and meet up more.”

Xia Yishan looked up and saw Ye Wenyue looking over; although she felt a bit conflicted, she still waved at her.

Ye Wenyue came over and started greeting everyone in the Xia Family one by one.

At this time, Xia Yirong leaned over to Yunyi’s side: ”Yishan also joined the cultural troupe in September, but she’s not in the same team as Wenyue.”

Yunyi really didn’t know about this.

Ye Wenyue felt somewhat awkward coming over because if it wasn’t for the Main Consort, she really had no ties to the Xia Family at all.

No wonder she could never really bond with the Xia sisters, Xia Yirong and Xia Yishan, before. It turns out they had no blood relation, so naturally, there was no familial bond.

Xia Yishan then asked Yunyi softly: ”Cousin, which university did you apply to?”

Yunyi did not hide it: ”Beijing Medical College.”

Upon hearing this, Xia Yishan looked envious: ”Cousin, you’re really amazing.”

Yunyi then remembered her little cousin graduated from high school this year: ”Didn’t you take the college entrance exam?”

Xia Yishan replied a bit sheepishly: ”I did take it, but with my estimated score, I’m afraid I can’t even get into a junior college.”

Yunyi has a good impression of the Xia Family: ”If you want to go to college, then review well and aim for a good score in next year’s entrance exam.”

Xia Yishan hesitated: ”Cousin, actually, I really like working in the cultural troupe.”

Yunyi knew what she was thinking: ”I’m not saying to quit your job and prepare for the exam. You can prepare with one foot in both camps; use your spare time for studying without delaying your troupe work.”

Xia Yishan was worried: ”With my grades, I’m afraid even if I work hard, it won’t matter.”

Yunyi laughed: ”When I have time, I’ll give you a test, then we can talk.”

Xia Yishan recalled what Aunt said before, that cousin Yunyi performed very well in her exams and would surely get into a good university if nothing unexpected happened.

She’s not stupid and quickly understood Yunyi’s meaning: ”Alright, I’ll listen to cousin.”

Su Yutang, the Second Aunt, naturally heard Yunyi’s words and was full of joy.
