Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe

Adam’s heart sank.

What…

What the… fuck?!

His hands started to involuntarily tremble when he read the last few journal entries. He could not believe what he was seeing.

What is that Dark Valley?

For the flow of time to work differently there compared to the rest of the world… it is beyond an anomaly!

But more importantly, he thought, alarmed.

What did Lord Wagner find in that Dark Valley?

A monster made of tentacles and eyes? I have never heard of such descriptions of monsters despite absorbing the memories of several experts in the Greater Universe!

Just what kind of abomination did he come across?!

And for that… thing to turn him mad…

Reading those last few journal entries, Adam knew that the founder of the Twilight Brotherhood had already descended into madness after he had come across the being residing in the depths of the Dark Valley.

But what kind of existence could do such a thing? To induce madness so easily in a Mana Core Magus?

This was truly shocking!

Adam could now confirm without a shadow of doubt that the founder had perished for two main reasons.

First, it was because he aged considerably inside the dark valley. Secondly, and most importantly, it was due to the madness induced by that entity.

Adam felt a chill crawl down his spine just thinking about that.

To think that such an anomalous place existed in Tron. Furthermore, for there to be an ominous entity that could take care of a Mana Core Magus so easily…

The raven-haired youth loudly gulped.

He had severely underestimated the mysteries of Tron. Just because it was situated in the peripheries of the Outer Universe, he thought it was a random backwater place.

But there was more than meets the eye!

Suddenly, the hair on the back of Adam’s neck stood on end. He scanned his surroundings, fear slowly gripping his heart.

For a mere moment, he felt like he, too, was being stared at by countless ominous eyes.

He took a deep breath, trying to calm the tumultuous waves rising within his heart. He shifted his attention back to the journal.

Bartholomew…

Adam’s face darkened. His eyes flashed with a dangerous light, and he thought, So the reason you became a lich was to live long enough for the next planetary alignment to arrive?

It all makes sense now!

But since you’ve struck a deal with the devil, I can assume that they’ve set their eyes on Tron.

Just what the hell are you planning?

Based on the memories he had absorbed, he had an idea about what the deal between them might have been.

He knew exactly what the devils of the Nine Hells of Inferno wanted.

Soldiers!

But that knowledge pertained to matters of a cosmic scale.

Adam closed his eyes, taking deep breaths to calm the chaos inside his mind. The secrets he had uncovered in these journals were incredibly valuable.

Even though he wasn’t able to learn anything about the portal on Luna and the way to leave this world, he still found something that was similar in value.

Aldo and Bartholomew were more than friends, they were sworn brothers, he thought.

The latter found a book related to the devils in the Spirit World, but the founder of the Brotherhood convinced him to seal it away.

They traveled the world, looking for clues that would allow them to journey to the Greater Universe.

Adam’s expression gradually turned solemn.

Then Aldo Wagner found the Dark Valley. There, he came across an entity that drove him mad. He also aged hundreds of years while in that place.

When he made his way out of the valley, he learned that Bartholomew had found the way to leave this planet.

Bartholomew had unsealed the vile book and learned of a way to become an immortal lich.

And after that…

The raven-haired youth gritted his teeth in frustration.

Aldo Wagner, the founder of the Tron Chapter of the Twilight Brotherhood, ultimately succumbed to the madness and withered of old age, he thought.

Bartholomew, on the other hand, transformed into a lich and founded the Cult of Bones.

Aldo and Batholomew.

Two sides of the same coin.

One light, the other dark.

Now, Adam was finally able to learn about the reason behind the age-old conflict between the Twilight Brotherhood and the Cult of Bones.

But…

He lowered his gaze, glancing at the final journal entry of Aldo Wagner. The man kept repeating the same thing over and over again.

The Beyond…

What does that mean?

He didn’t know. And something deep within his heart told him that he was never meant to.

Some truths were better left buried.

Forever forgotten.

…

Ravenfell.

Inside a dimly lit room, a mysterious figure was hunched over a table, intently studying the city’s map sprawled on top of it.

Suddenly, his eyes narrowed, and he turned his head. A few moments later, a dark shadowy portal formed near his feet.

From it, a skeleton emerged, holding a sealed wooden box and rolled parchment.

The man’s eyes narrowed.

New instructions from the Master? He wondered.

He retrieved the items from the skeleton’s hands. Then, the latter disappeared back inside the portal, leaving only this mysterious man alone within the dimly lit room.

The man unsealed the box first. When his gaze landed on the item inside, his eyes narrowed.

A Forgotten Rune? He thought, perplexed.

Why does the Master want to use this here again?

This one-time artifact, although Rank 4 in strength, had a Rank 5 spell inscribed on it!

It was a spell from the School of Enchantment that subtly warped the minds of the targets, making them accept a lie as the truth, even when the truth stood right before their eyes.

The Cult of Bones used this artifact in places that were extremely critical to their grand plan. Most notably, at the six locations where the portals were scattered across the planet.

It was also used in Blackshore!

The figure unrolled the parchment and read its contents. It was personally written by the Cult Leader.

After reading through it, the figure frowned.

Does he not believe in our capabilities? Despite there being so many Mana Core Magi dispatched this time?

No, it’s not that he doesn’t believe in our capabilities...

The mysterious figure’s expression darkened.

The Master believes that Adam Constantine is just that big a threat!

He burned the parchment to ashes, leaving no trace of it. The man crossed his arms and stood there for a long time, his thoughts a mystery.

When his gaze landed on the artifact inside the wooden box again, his lips curled into a cold smile.

No matter, he thought.

With this, your fate is sealed… Dark King!
