Chapter 2077 Wrath of the Sanguine

Tyrannical mana gathered around Adamʼs hands.

Two overlapping walls of oscillating mana were generated to deflect all the incoming projectiles. Adam gritted his teeth as his feet dug trenches in the ground, pushing him back.

Just as he managed to block the last of the projectiles, a pale claw shot straight through the [Great Barrier], disrupting Adamʼs defenses.

”Youʼre annoying,” Sanguina growled as she broke through Adamʼs defenses.

She took a step forward, delivered a right jab to Adamʼs stomach, a left jab to his sternum, and a right upper cut to his jaw.

Adamʼs body was hurled into the air as he spat mouthfuls of blood.

Immediately after, Luca stepped forward and hacked at the Mistress of Blood with the Winter Blade. Sanguina conjured two curved blades manifested from her blood magic and began a dance of violence with him.

It was important to note that Sanguina was extremely wary of coming close to Luca because of the existence of the Winter Blade. However, she did not hold the same reservations with Adam. Luca noticed that too.

She thinks only I have a weapon that can harm her, he thought to himself in the heat of battle as the two exchanged dozens of strikes in a matter of seconds.

Looks like itʼs my turn to provide support!

Sanguina wasnʼt faring better in this battle. Not only did she have to be cautious of Lucaʼs weapon, but she also had to constantly be on the lookout for Adamʼs sneak attacks.

Adam was a slippery opponent, and someone Sanguina believed was more dangerous than Luca.

Just as she had narrowly evaded one of Lucaʼs sword strikes, the ground beneath her suddenly trembled. She instinctively retreated. Too late.

[Mother Earthʼs Prayer]

In the blink of an eye, two giant palms of rock, stone, and mud rose from the ground and slammed Sanguina in the middle.

BOOM!

A moment of suffocating silence descended on the battlefield.

But then, the giant palms started to shake and rumble. In the next heartbeat, they shattered violently.

From inside emerged Sanguina, who had undergone a metamorphosis. Like a deathly butterfly of nature, she spread her pale bat wings and hovered in the air.

The giant wings, the pale flesh, the crimson armor, and the horns jutting out of her forehead like a crown gave her a regal appearance. Evily regal.

She floated in the air and looked down on Luca, who was gripping the Winter Blade with a solemn look on his face. As usual, Adam was nowhere to be seen.

Sanguina turned toward the skies. More cracks had appeared. The destruction of the moon had caused the spatial and temporal laws of the secret plane to be overwhelmed. In other words, it wouldnʼt be long before the entire dimension collapsed and was sucked into the spirit world.

”This farce has gone on for too long,” she declared, her voice reaching every corner of the secret plane.

Sanguinaʼs hands turned into a blur as she began weaving hand seals. The surrounding air trembled. Then she raised both hands toward the sky.

The entire secret plane shuddered.

The heavens themselves seemed to tremble as an enormous amount of blood gathered above her. A thousand crimson constructs slowly took shape in the air, each one grotesque and monstrous.

The pressure was immense. The ground beneath cracked. The secret plane itself appeared to collapse inward under the sheer power of the spell.

Sanguinaʼs crimson eyes flashed with murderous intent. She took great delight in seeing Lucaʼs face turn ghostly pale as he realized he wouldnʼt be able to escape from her attack — or from this secret plane, for that matter.

Then she brought both hands down.

[Wrath of—

A blade erupted from her chest.

Her body froze.

The Winter Blade had pierced straight through her back and emerged from her chest, its cold, frost-covered edge gleaming beneath the multi-colored hues of the spirit world.

Sanguinaʼs eyes widened.

Behind her, Adam had appeared without warning.

[Blink]

He had teleported directly behind her. His hands were wrapped tightly around the hilt of the Winter Blade, forcing the weapon deeper into her body.

As for the sword in Lucaʼs hand. It was never a sword. It was the Morning Star made to look like the Winter Blade thanks to Adamʼs illusion magic.

The two had exchanged weapons right before Sanguina took flight!

Adam drew his hand back, mana swirling around it. Then he thrust the hilt of the Winter Blade, launching both weapon and devil toward the ground.

Boom!

A massive crater formed as Sanguina was hurled into the ground. Her body crashed into the earth with tremendous force. Blood gushed from her mouth as the flesh around the Winter Blade began to darken and freeze.

The cold spread quietly. Frost crept across her body, devouring the flesh around the wound.

Sanguinaʼs eyes widened in panic. She immediately struggled to her feet and desperately tried to pull away from the blade.

But the moment she stood, something constricted around her neck.

Sanguinaʼs eyes snapped toward it. It was a chain-like whip that had tightened around her throat.

Luca stood several meters away, the Morning Star in his hands. With a vicious yank, he pulled hard. The chain tightened. And then...

SPLAT!

Sanguinaʼs head was viciously torn from her body.

Her headless body staggered for a moment before collapsing heavily onto the ground. But even as her life faded, Sanguinaʼs lips curled into a pale, cruel smile.

The final vestiges of her power surged through her body.

If she was going to die… then she would take the two humans down with her!

[Wrath of the Sanguine]

The thousand blood projectiles that were about to disappear in the air suddenly found a second wind. They spun rapidly and launched toward the ground. This time, however, the spellʼs target wasnʼt just Luca and Adam.

It was the earth of the spirit plane.

Sanguinaʼs final spell tore through the earth. The land shattered beneath its immense power, and the secret plane began losing its stability. Cracks appeared across the ground, the sky, and even the distant mountains. The world itself was collapsing.

Then, in the blink of an eye, the entire secret plane imploded in on itself. Everything was swallowed. The land. The mountains. The remnants of Castle de Vile. Everything.

Everything was violently pulled toward the spirit world, disappearing into its depths until nothing remained.

The Blood Moon Secret Plane was no more.
