Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe

Chapter 810: Place of Origin

Without the planetary alignment, you can never leave Tron…

You can never leave Tron...

You can never leave Tron…

Those words continued to echo inside Adamʼs mind relentlessly, with each repetition sending him spiraling down the path of despair.

The reason why the founder of the Twilight Brotherhood was unable to return to his home world was that the planets hadnʼt aligned during the time he had been alive.

He was unable to see his wife and children because of this very reason!

Adamʼs mind was a chaotic mess when this realization dawned on him.

Recalling the contents of the founderʼs journal that he had recently gotten his hands on, he couldnʼt help but pity the man.

The founder of the Brotherhood had studied the celestial phenomenon of the solar system for almost a century, and learned that the next planetary alignment was thousands of years away.

He was unable to live to see that day, and as a result, he could never go back home.

Just like mortals, Magi were born to die.

Embarking on the path of arcana did not mean that one could attain immortality. It simply meant that they could extend their lifespans as they ascended, and study the mysteries of magic for as long as they could.

Death came to them all the same.

The twin moons reminded the founder of his home world, Adam thought with a bitter smile on his face.

So close, yet forever out of reach, he repeated the words of the founder in his mind.

His expression gradually turned grave and he wondered, The next planetary alignment was still thousands of years away when the founder was still alive.

But I donʼt know the exact timeline of the founderʼs arrival in Tron as well as the day he passed away.

Suddenly, an ominous thought emerged in his mind and it instantly took root. His heart sank as he thought of a possibility.

Could it be… that the planetary alignment has already passed, and I… missed it?

He hurriedly turned towards the Joker and asked in a panic, ”When is the next planetary alignment? It hasnʼt passed already, has it?”

The Joker was slightly taken aback by the youthʼs sudden change in demeanor. But a moment later, he understood why Adam would act that way.

His lips curled into a taunting smile, and he couldnʼt help but laugh out loud, ”Fafafa! And so what if it has passed? You just have to stay alive until the next one arrives!”

Adamʼs heart was gripped by a foreboding feeling. ”Sir Joker, please… Are you serious?!”

”Fafafa! Of course, Iʼm not!”

This bastard! Adam angrily cursed him in his mind.

I really wish I could beat him!

The Joker gradually calmed his emotions and gazed at the youth with a faint smile. ”The next planetary alignment is soon approaching.”

He paused, allowing Adam to let out a breath of relief, before continuing, ”But the exact time? I do not know. I have never left this place and witnessed the sea of stars, after all. Fafafa!”

Adam suddenly thought of something and couldnʼt help but frown. ”If you havenʼt left this place, then how do you know the next planetary alignment is soon approaching?”

”Silly lad,” the Joker scoffed. ”Whenever all the planets in the solar system align, Tron goes through a major change. It is almost as if the planet awakens from its deep slumber. When that happens, I can naturally sense it from within the spirit plane.”

”And how many times have you… sensed that change?” Adam pressed.

”Hmm, let me see,” the Joker mumbled as he began counting with his fingers in an exaggerated manner.

”One, two, three, four… Hmm, and then there was that one time I slept through it. And there was another one. Bloody hell, Iʼm not so sure now that I think of it. But it is definitely less than ten times.”

”Ten times?!” Adamʼs eyes threatened to pop out of his sockets. ”Wait, how old are you?!”

The Joker shrugged nonchalantly. ”A dozen thousand years old? Probably more. Hmm, Iʼm not sure. To be honest, after a certain point, I lost track.”

Adamʼs mouth was wide agape at that discovery. He couldnʼt help but think to himself in utter shock, If I assume the Joker is, letʼs say, fifteen thousand years old, then how old was Magus Mathias before he passed?

How many tens of thousands of years has it been since he visited the Greater Universe?

Wait a minute!

The youth suddenly thought of something very crucial. His eyes narrowed, and he started to stroke his chin out of habit.

Iʼm sure the Twilight Brotherhood is only a couple of thousand years old. After reading the journals of its founder, Iʼm certain of it!

Then that means Magus Mathias had already created this secret plane and passed away before the founder of the Brotherhood even arrived on Tron!

All this while, I was under the impression that the founder had something to do with the portal, but I could not have been more wrong…

The portal on the moon had already been present by the time the founder of the Twilight Brotherhood arrived on Tron!

Then… who created that portal? How long has it been there on the moon?

Unable to contain his curiosity, he turned to the Joker, who had already resumed working on the runic formation, and asked, ”Who… created the portal on the moon?”

The Joker was the perfect person to inquire about such things that happened several thousand years ago. Adam was sure that the man would know it.

Not because he was old, but also because he knew everything that Mathias the Free knew!

”The Magi, of course,” said the man matter-of-factly as he continued to inscribe the runes on the ground.

But Adam felt that that was quite ridiculous. ”How could the Magi of this planet have such deep knowledge that they built such a large-scale portal on the moon?”

The Joker paused what he was doing. He then turned to the raven-haired youth, glancing at him like he was an idiot.

”The Magi… of this planet?” His tone was laced with ridicule.

”Of course, the Magi of Tron have never been knowledgeable enough to build such a structure on the moon. That is such a foolish thing to assume. Fafafa!”

As realization slowly started to dawn on Adam, he couldnʼt help but mutter in disbelief, ”Wait, donʼt tell me…”

The Joker continued with a smirk, ”Iʼm beginning to think you might need a lesson on history, lad.”

He paused for a moment before revealing a long-buried secret—one that shattered Adamʼs understanding of this world.

”The four major races of Tron were never born here,” the Joker said. ” They were brought here by the Magi from the Greater Universe.

”It was these Magi who built the ancient monolithic structure that facilitated interstellar travel between the Outer Universe and the Greater Universe.”

Seeing the look of shock on Adamʼs face, the Jokerʼs grin only widened.

”As for the human species… your true place of origin lies beyond,” he continued, his voice dripping with theatrical flair. ”The portal on Luna leads to that place.”

He paused for a moment, then stretched his arms wide in a grand, sweeping gesture.

”The cradle of humankind… Myrrandor!”
