The Corruption Dragon God: Lust System

Chapter 83: 83 - I won’t kill you

”Ah...” Qingyi sighed heavily as he got up from the old man’s bloodied body.

Fortunately, the old man was a coward, so it wasn’t difficult to find out what he needed to know.

Those pills had been bought directly from the main land, imported to the island by pirates and flowed through the hands of many wandering merchants until finally falling into the hands of the Red Claw gang.

There didn’t seem to be any connection between the Red Claw gang and the demon cult, which immediately made him feel relieved.

Of course, the circulation of these pills was still a big problem, but as long as it didn’t affect his women, it wasn’t his problem.

Still, he decided it was best to take them back to the sect and report everything he had discovered to the old man, at least what was relevant.

After all, many elders were known for giving generous rewards to disciples who made great discoveries and information about the demon sect was always important.

Putting the pills back in the bag, Qingyi prepared to store them in his clothes, but soon remembered something.

Although he’d had the system for many months and his power had risen a lot, he still hadn’t bought himself a space ring.

Going around carrying a lot of things was very inconvenient.

”P-please...”

Qingyi was about to open his system store when the old man called out to him again.

’Is that bastard still alive?’ He drew his sword without hesitation. He had no pity for that old man, he was a criminal like any other in this fortress.

If he had been an innocent servant or slave, his cultivation would surely have been sealed or crippled.

From what he could see in the room, this old man was an accountant and the main person responsible for running the fortress.

He thought the old man was already dead after torturing him a bit, but as they say, bad things are hard to die. Qingyi raised his sword over his head, causing the old man to let out a shrill scream.

”W-wait! Wait! I can show you the fortress vault, all the gang’s wealth is in there!” The old man raised his trembling hands and closed his eyes in terror.

”Uh?” Qingyi stopped the swing of his sword.

The Red Claw gang wasn’t exactly a new gang. With over a thousand members, it was founded by the Hei brothers’ father some 150 years ago, an expert of the Golden Core realm.

With all that time stealing and killing, they probably had a considerable fortune.

Even if Qingyi could buy gold directly from the system, the price wasn’t something he liked.

This wouldn’t be a big problem if all he wanted was to buy simple things like low-quality pills, drinks and meals, but to buy more expensive items, it would become totally unaffordable.

Lust points were great for boosting cultivation, but they were far from being able to replace gold.

”Speak,” Qingyi ordered, even buying a recovery pill and throwing it to the old man, who immediately chomped it down as if his whole life depended on it.

Observing such a sight, Qingyi couldn’t help but shake his head.

A Foundation Realm cultivator could easily live over a hundred and thirty years. From the looks of this old man, he was already past the one hundred and twenty mark.

It was truly pathetic to see someone so old, who had already lived so long, clinging to life like this.

”I-I’ll talk, but first, I want you to promise-” The old man’s voice died away as Qingyi took a threatening step forward, but he hastened his voice.

”If you promise before the heavens that you won’t kill me, I’ll show you the vault!” He lowered his head and Qingyi stopped the movement of his blade once again.

Promises before the heavens were very serious things for most cultivators.

Breaking them didn’t affect them directly, but many said that they caused karma and could hinder their future reincarnations as well as generating tribulations if the promise was too big.

Qingyi didn’t care much about such things, he had no interest in living any life other than this one, nor was he a very religious person.

[You should still be careful with this, these promises don’t have much influence in the mortal heavens, but the higher you go, the more powerful the power of destiny linked to the heavens]

The system warned.

’Don’t worry.’ Qingyi smiled slightly, he wasn’t planning on breaking that promise.

”I promise, before the heavens and all the deities that govern it, that I, Qingyi, will not lay a finger on you.” He exclaimed and soon the old man’s face filled with excitement.

”Ugh... those old bones.” The old man stood up with a grunt, walking in large strides towards the wall of the room.

Qingyi watched with curiosity as the old man tapped on the wall seemingly at random.

After about ten taps, a loud crack was heard and the wooden walls soon broke apart, revealing a black metal door.

”Here you are, young master! Now... if you’ll excuse me...” The old man took hasty steps away, but Qingyi grabbed his shoulders.

”Open it,” he ordered coldly.

Swallowing dryly, the old man stepped back in front of the metal door, grabbed its handle and, with a little effort, opened it.

Qingyi’s face immediately lit up with a golden color as the contents of the safe were finally revealed.

It was relatively empty compared to its size, but from the pile of jewels, gold and even some pills, he could estimate a value of easily over a hundred thousand gold coins.

It wasn’t a large amount for high-level cultivators, but for a foundation realm cultivator like him? It was a real fortune!

’System, I need a spatial ring, at least twenty cubic meters,’ Qingyi ordered. Five thousand lust points disappeared from his status as a silver ring appeared on his finger.

He closed his eyes briefly, feeling a connection with the ring forming.

It was a little strange, not like a game inventory, but like a cluster of information being sent directly to his head.

Qingyi raised his index finger slightly and a powerful suction force arose, pulling all the wealth in the vault into his ring.

There, he only needed one thought to calculate exactly how much it was.

”One hundred and fifty thousand...” A subtle smile took over his face.

With that much gold, there would be no shortage of resources, either for him or for his women.

”Can I go now?” The old man asked, almost begging, but Qingyi just laughed.

”Get into the vault...” He ordered.

”You promised you wouldn’t kill me...” Despite his protests, the old man obeyed, afraid of being killed right then and there.

”Don’t worry, I won’t kill you.”

The old man’s face was filled with relief at those words, but that relief soon disappeared as Qingyi closed the vault door.

”Hunger, thirst and lack of oxygen will,” Qingyi muttered as he used his lightning Qi to melt the metal of the door, welding it to the rest of the vault.
