Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 339: An Even Worse Scenario

”The supervisor is inside the mine.”

”The mine?” Floraʼs heart sank.

”Yes.” They nodded. One of them stepped forth while explaining, ”Because of the shake not long ago, a part of the mine collapsed. He was bringing people in to rescue the workers.”

Flora bit her lips. ʼThe situation doesnʼt look good. In this scenario, the last thing you want to do is go into the mine. Not only the earthquake, but the alien can also cause another collapse. Itʼs especially true with an alien of that size… What should I do? Should I go to the mine?

ʼBut Nathan and Serafina will be in danger. Should I abandon them? The mission will be considered a failure.ʼ

As a royal, she understood that her own life had a higher priority. She didnʼt lack people who would sacrifice their lives for her sake.

However, it didnʼt mean she could just abandon them like this.

Even though they werenʼt her subjects, she was still tied to a contract.

ʼShould I ask Nathan? Although I hate to say this, that guy might have a solution to this situation. No. Iʼm hoping he has a plan. If we donʼt have one, I need to take a more drastic measure.ʼ

Flora bit his lips. She was forced to make a decision when she heard the deep roar of the elephant.

”!!!” Flora raised her head and immediately summoned her familiars. ”You guys. Go rampage in this area. Kill as many aliens as possible and ensure the safety of these people and mine.”

The spirits nodded without hesitation. ”You guys wait here.”

The people were confused, but Flora had already leaped toward Nathan. She pointed her palm at the alien and formed a magic circle. ”Advanced Lightning Elemental Magic, Thunderbolt.”

A bolt of lightning flew toward the elephant.

Boom!

A massive explosion hit the elephantʼs right side, causing it to almost fall down. It was wailing as though it were in pain.

”!!!” Nathan raised his head as he noticed a presence coming her way.

When he turned around, he saw Flora reaching his location.

”Flora? What are you doing here?”

”The situation doesnʼt look good. The supervisor is leading people to rescue the workers inside the mine. It doesnʼt seem like we are able to retreat.” Flora pointed at the elephant. ”I should take care of this mature class alien. My familiars are rampaging on that side. As long as you can also unleash all your abilities to kill the rest of the aliens, we should be able to finish all this within fifteen to twenty minutes.”

”This alien has a tough skin, though.”

”Yes. Donʼt worry. I might not be as strong as Noelle, but my firepower is the strongest.”

Nathan nodded immediately. Although he wanted to kill the mature class alien by himself, he realized the situation didnʼt allow him to do so.

If he was stubborn, it would be too late.

However, the enemies seemed to have exceeded their expectations.

”Huh?!” Flora widened her eyes in shock. Fenrir, Anubis, and Nidhogg picked up threats from all directions due to their sharp instincts.

They looked around and realized the predicament they were in.

Nathan was confused, so he followed what they were doing.

”Ah shit.” Nathan gritted his teeth. From the north, he could see more than a hundred aliens coming. They were easy to spot because they were coming from the sky. Yeah, all of them were flying aliens.

More importantly, he could see a giant humanoid alien. Instead of a beard, it had tentacles. There was a pair of wings on its back as the alien was holding a giant club made of the symbiote.

His instinct was telling him this was a mature class alien.

From the east, he could see a giant six-legged spider. The legs looked similar to humans, and the top of its body was filled with many tentacles. This, too, was a mature class alien.

Underneath the spider was a cloud of dust, showing that there were also a lot of aliens coming with the spider.

From the west, he found a worm that bulldozed everything in its path, coming at a much faster speed than the rest of the aliens.

Last but not least, they didnʼt see anything but a dust cloud. However, Nathanʼs familiars were most wary of this direction, as if they realized the strongest one was actually coming from this direction.

ʼWhat is going on? How come all those aliens move so fast? If theyʼre near us, Flora would have noticed. Nidhogg should be able to sense them too.

ʼThe fact that they havenʼt sensed it this whole time means theyʼre not there. Itʼs as if the alien is moving as soon as we arrive here.

ʼAre they waiting for us? No. The alien might be smart, but they shouldnʼt be able to use such a tactic. In other words, something is going on without our knowledge. We have been trapped.ʼ

Nathan bit his lips. The situation was looking worse. There were at least five mature class aliens in this area, along with a few hundreds, if not a thousand, lower-level aliens. The number of juvenile class aliens must have surpassed a hundred as well because Nidhogg had a hard time earlier, showing the ratio between juvenile class and proto-class aliens.

Unbeknownst to them, there was a man watching them from afar. He was the person Nathan met earlier in the town, Iskar, or more like Iskar Haygaiden.

Iskar smirked. ”Well, how are you going to handle this? If he is able to survive, it means he has another backer protecting him, as long as I donʼt sense the Sage. If he doesnʼt survive, the Sage will lose a piece he needs.

”Of course, Iʼm going to kidnap him right before the alien kills him. Still, Master has told me not to mess with Nathan for the time being, but thereʼs no better time than this. I need to know whether the Sage is the one moving piece, or this guy is a hidden threat.”
