Chapter 17

Turtles don’t actually have vocal cords, but they can make some fricative sounds when air passes through the respiratory tract.

And this fricative sound is somewhat similar to the cry of a frog.

Originally, Lu Yuan thought that the snapping turtle barked out of excitement.

But when he saw another black spot chasing from behind the snapping turtle, he couldn’t be happier...

Damn, there’s actually one more!
Only then did he remember that there seemed to be several Brazilian tortoises in the pool before the end of the world.

The snapping turtle whined just now, obviously not just out of grief and anger, but also to call out friends.

In the case of a snapping turtle, he is still sure he can get rid of them.

This time, he followed up with two, which made him less confident.

I still pray that there will be a helping hand at the bridgehead!
Now that the two snapping turtles had already caught up, Lu Yuan stopped thinking about it, held the steering wheel tightly, and drove the car in the direction of the cross-sea bridge.

The reason why I went there was because it was relatively empty and it was convenient to get out.

There is another important reason, that is, there is a barracks stationed at the bridgehead of the bridge.

Officials had ordered troops at all levels long before the asteroid fragments hit Earth.

Some people were dispatched to live in important transportation nodes in various cities.

On the one hand, it is to stabilize everyone’s emotions and prepare for disaster relief and prevention for possible disasters.

On the other hand, it is to frighten some Xiaoxiao who harbor evil intentions.

The cross-sea bridge is an important traffic node in the city.

So before the natural disaster, the military sent a company to station at the bridge.

The reason why Lu Yuan still remembers it so clearly is because on the first day of his holiday at home, this troop happened to pass across the gate of their community.

He was upstairs at the time, and he saw everything clearly.

This unit looked elite at first glance. Not only were there several large trucks to transport troops, but they were also equipped with several armored personnel carriers, and even brought two tanks.

This battle seemed to be really going to war, anyway, Lu Yuan felt a little timid watching it.

In the first few days after entering the apocalypse, they could still get some information about the barracks from the staff of the street office.

At that time, many people’s homes had already been infected by the doomsday virus.

At that time, the people from the sub-district office notified all households to sign up, and collected the patients and sent them to the barracks for management.

According to them, there is a professional military medical team with sufficient resources.

Therefore, many people handed over the infected relatives at home to the people in the street office and transported them to the barracks in batches.

This is also the main reason why there are more survivors in various communities.

But about half a month ago, one day in the direction of the bridgehead at midnight, bursts of gunfire suddenly sounded.

And the more intense it got later on, the scene was really almost like a war.

But when it was almost dawn, the gunfire stopped.

But from that day on, the people from the street office never came again.

And they have completely lost contact with the official and the outside world.

Looking at the two snapping turtles chasing after him, Lu Yuan only hoped that the barracks were still there.

After all, heat weapons are obviously the most effective way to deal with such monsters.

After driving on Tingtao Road for 5 minutes, then turned left, Lu Yuan headed north all the way, and drove the car to the bridgehead in 3 minutes.

On both sides of the bridgehead, there were originally two construction sites.

One is built for residential buildings, and the other is built for office buildings.

Now both sides of the road have been surrounded by blue iron fences.

On the road in front of the construction site, a temporary barbed wire gate was built.

In front of the door, there are two rows of rejecting horses, and between the rejecting horses is an inspection post.

But at this time, there was no one in the booth.

Lu Yuan drove the car to 50 meters in front of the barbed wire gate and stopped.

Because this place looks very strange, there is no one at the gate post.

On both sides of the road behind, there are suggested military tents and simple prefabricated houses built from containers.

But no one was seen in these wooden houses. This situation looked very wrong!
This is a military camp, where have all the soldiers gone?

If the soldiers had all retreated, then through the barbed wire gate, they could still see not far inside, near the bridge head.

These dozens of large military trucks are also neatly parked.

The two snapping turtles behind were slowly approaching at this time, and they were still about 1000 meters away.

Lu Yuan turned around and took a glance, then looked ahead, and honked the horn as soon as he gritted his teeth.

’Tick...’

The sound of the Mercedes-Benz horn broke the calm nearby.

Suddenly there was a clattering sound from the front, and a dozen or so black shadows suddenly appeared from the container board houses next to it.

When he saw the appearance of these black shadows clearly, Lu Yuan’s heart froze.

These are clearly more than a dozen zombies that have evolved, each of them is agile, and the speed is the fastest among the zombies he has ever seen.

When jumping directly from the two-story container, the legs seemed to be equipped with springs.

When they landed, they just bent slightly to dissipate the impact. Obviously, the physical strength of these zombies was more than double that of ordinary zombies they had seen a lot.

The reason why I didn’t see other soldiers in the camp was probably because they had eaten them up...

After looking at the army green that was still faintly visible on their bodies, Lu Yuan roughly guessed why there was no news about the military camp these days.

At this time, his heart was exhausted, and this time it seemed that he was done!
This barracks has been wiped out...

At this time, those zombies rushed to the barbed wire door in front of them with a few strides, and the barbed wire door slammed into each other with a rattling sound.

And Lu Yuan also noticed that although these zombies are still a little afraid of the sun, they are no longer as afraid as ordinary zombies.

And the reason why they didn’t rush out was because of the barbed wire fence with barbs stretched over the two-meter-high iron gate.

At this time, the two snapping turtles behind them were less than 500 meters away from them.

At this time, the two snapping turtles also slowed down and blocked their escape route. Obviously they thought they had blocked the car in a dead end.

”How to do?”

There were pursuers behind and interceptions in front. At this time, Mo Xiaobei’s face was pale.

But Lu Yuan’s face was livid, and he gritted his teeth suddenly: ”Fasten your seat belt and sit still!”

As soon as the words fell, he slammed down on the accelerator.

The 4.7T V8 engine roared wildly, with a violent output of 435 horsepower, and the 2.6-ton body rushed forward.

The Mercedes-Benz GL500 ejected and started again, hitting the barbed wire door like a shell...
