The two of them continued boldly. They did not care about the onlookers at all

and as they ate.

“Boss, what’s the next step of the plan?” While eating, Zhou Liang asked.

“The embassy’s signal has been cut off. It’s unlikely we’ll be able to get in touch

with them.”

“But we can’t give up,” Lin Yi said.

“After dinner, let’s find a place to settle down and see if we can find any communication tools nearby. If we can’t contact the embassy, we can contact the country. However, whether we can find any communication tools will depend on our luck.”

The situation overseas was completely different from domestically.

In Huaxia, almost everyone used cell phones, but it was different in the slums. Even tobacco had become a hard currency. It was very difficult to find cell phones or landlines here.

Therefore, they could only try their luck.

“Huh? Boss, hurry up and eat. You still have to work after getting your fill,”

Zhou Liang, who was eating bread, said.

“My stomach isn’t feeling well, 1 won’t eat for now,” Lin Yi said.

“I’m almost done. I’ll be done after finishing this bread.

Zhou Liang ate faster, and Lin Yi packed up his things, ready to leave at any time.

In such a place, it should not be difficult to find a place to take refuge.

“Excuse me!”

Just as the two of them were about to leave after eating, they heard voices coming from the crowd.

He looked up and saw more than ten men walking towards him.

Lin Yi looked up and realized that the people in front of him were all dressed

like hooligans.

However, they were wearing clothes. In the slums, they were considered rich, but their attitude didn’t seem so friendly.

When they saw these people, the people who came to watch the smoke subconsciously retreated to the side and distanced themselves.

A dozen people stood in front of Lin Yi.

“Huaxian, who asked you to come here?”

The person who spoke was bald. He was wearing colorful beach pants and a tank top. There was a silver necklace around his neck as he looked down at Lin

Yi.

His name was Basso, and he had great prestige in the slums.

His boss, Maxa, was the boss of the slums.

Although this place was very poor, Maxa controlled more than 70% of the resources in the Cullen District. Anyone who came to the slums would not be able to escape their clutches.

“This isn’t your house. Can’t we visit?”

“Of course, but you have to hand over half your supplies before I can let you

stay here.”

Zhou Liang stuffed the last piece of bread in his hand into his mouth and took a sip of water.

“I don’t have any money, but I have a life. Do as you see fit.”

Seeing Zhou Liang speak up, Lin Yi smiled and translated for him, giving him the chance to show off.

“You don’t want to give the money?” Baso said sternly.

“If you cooperate, I’ll only take half of your supplies. If we have to take action, we’ll take everything you have!”

“I’ll also advise you, don’t think you can bully us just because we’re from Huaxia. We’re all adults here, and you’ll have to pay the price for your actions.

Basso looked at Zhou Liang with a cold expression.

“This place is more chaotic than Huaxia. No law can protect you. If you don’t cooperate, what happens next might make you regret your actions.”

“I’ve already told you. I don’t have any money, but I have a life. However, it’s still very unlikely for you to snatch that from us.”

Basso did not reply. He waved at his subordinates behind him.

“Do it. Take what they have, then drive them out of Cullen. They’re not

welcome here.”

Two of Basso’s subordinates walked out. Their primary target was Zhou Liang.

Zhou Liang did not hesitate. He jumped up and kicked one of them, sending him flying!

Then, he grabbed the other person’s head and kicked him in the face.

The latter screamed and rolled on the ground in pain.

However, Zhou Liang did not let up as he stepped on his neck. He could send him to drink tea with God if he exerted a little force.

Seeing Zhou Liang take down the two of them so easily, Basso and the others subconsciously retreated. They did not expect this Huaxian man in front of them to be so good at fighting.

“Now, are you still going to snatch our things?”

Basso’s men continued to retreat, putting at least five meters between them.

“Let me tell you, this is Boss Maxa’s territory. If you dare to attack our people, Boss Maxa will not let you off.”

“Take us to him. I’ll see what he can do to me.”

The person who spoke was not Zhou Liang, but Lin Yi.

“Don’t worry, even if you don’t go willingly, I’ll have someone escort you,”

Basso said.

“Then let’s go, we don’t want to cause too much commotion.”

“Take them away.”

Basso waved his hand, and his men positioned themselves behind Lin Yi and Zhou Liang. However, no one made any further moves, preparing to herd the two to face Maxa.

Zhou Liang, a bit puzzled, leaned in and whispered to Lin Yi.

“Boss, do you have a new plan?”

“The one called Maxa must be the slum lord. If we can meet him and take him down, we can establish a foothold,” Lin Yi surveyed his surroundings and whispered back.

“Then, using his resources, we could contact either the embassy or back home, and we could be saved.”

Hearing Lin Yi’s words, Zhou Liang was enlightened.

He admired Lin Yi from the bottom of his heart. No wonder Boss could become the team leader of Team 1 at such a young age. His brain was much sharper than his.

The slum was built against a hill. One would easily notice that the height of the hill reflected the local residents’ status.

As one climbs higher up the hill, the houses improve in quality and there were more lights.

From this observation, it was clear that those living at the top of the hill seemed to be in better conditions.

Moreover, most importantly, there was a road built up the hill. Although it was somewhat rugged, driving was not an issue.

At this mountaintop location was a two-story building which was brightly lit inside. Standing outside, one could smell a faint scent of flowers.

Entering the courtyard, Lin Yi looked around.

The courtyard was about half the size of a football field, and it was filled with flowers and plants.

There were also four cars parked in a corner. Three of them were diesel cars with high horsepower, and the last one was a BMW 7 Series.

In a place like Cullen District, you had to be someone special to own such a building and four cars at the same time!

He would be considered rich anywhere in the world.

Lin Yi smiled. It seemed that his guess was right.

What he needed to do next was to think of a way to take down that man called Maxa!
