Global Cataclysm: Starting with a 1000-acre survival base

Chapter 337 Intelligent Shield Machine

”Ling Hai is right. I have encountered it before. When a disaster strikes suddenly, most people die in the disaster without being prepared. In the end, the points they get are all obtained by resisting the disaster!” the old man said. Tate also nodded slightly.

”In this case, tell me, how can we resist this acid rain?” Su Yuan frowned.

”I think that according to the current situation, the seawater will be acidified, which will affect our base at that time. We can either choose to abandon the base and fly outside the planet, or build the base among the seabed mountains and use thick rocks to resist the seawater. Acidification!” Ling Hai thought for a while and said.

Old Tate nodded slightly, and added:
”Whatever method you use to resist acid rain will affect your points. If the Hong people judge that my method is effective, they will give me extra points! If we fly directly out of this planet, maybe we can only get the most basic points!”

”So that’s how it is!” Su Yuan’s eyes lit up, and he had a good competition, the Hong people didn’t show up, and even the rules of the competition had to be guessed by himself.

After contemplating for a moment, Su Yuan felt like walking on two legs, while moving the base, he was looking for a way to neutralize the acidification of seawater.

Now the base is built on the mountain range of the mine. Next, Su Yuan needs to find a huge mountain range, hollow it out, and build the base in the mountain range.

To neutralize the acidification of seawater, Ling Hai and others need to find a way to develop related chemical agents.

After the meeting, Su Yuan and the others began to take various actions according to the plan.

Su Yuan took people to find the mountains and choose the place where the base moved.

Su Xiaoyu went to monitor the changes of acid rain to find the specific reasons for the formation of acid rain.

But Ling Hai and others tried to neutralize the acidity of the seawater.

Wow, the acid rain is still falling on the surface of the sea.

The rough sea surface seemed to be boiled by acid rain, with bubbles and white smoke.

On the land, there are large pits corroded by acid rain everywhere. All the rainwater gathers together and pours into the ocean, which accelerates the acidification of seawater.

For several days in a row, Ling Hai and the others made no progress. It is simply an impossible task to neutralize the seawater on a large scale.

Su Xiaoyu also failed to find out the cause of acid rain. She is better at scouting the enemy and obtaining information, rather than analyzing and processing data to end the cause of acid rain.

Su Yuan’s luck was good. He found a huge mountain range. The mountains are relatively hard and can withstand the corrosion of sea water for a period of time.

Therefore, Su Yuan asked Ling Hai and others to excavate the mountain first, build the base in the mountains, and then think about dealing with the acid rain.

Su Yuan can also see that, to deal with acid rain, Xiaoyu and other research and development robots are needed.

It’s a pity that he came to participate in the competition this time and did not bring a robot that knows how to develop.

More than ten days passed in a flash, and the acid rain still did not stop, but the volcanic ash disappeared a lot, the sunlight could shine in again, and the temperature of the entire planet became higher.

Su Yuan has also moved into a new base. As the acidity of seawater continues to rise, its corrosiveness is no different from that of ordinary low-concentration sulfuric acid.

Spaceships will be corroded by seawater when they go out.

Su Yuan and the others had no better way, they could only hide in the mountainside and wait for the end of the competition.

However, research and development has not stopped. After many experiments, Ling Hai and others have improved the corrosion resistance of the super sponge, which can effectively protect the base.

Although the environment is getting worse and worse, Su Yuan and others can persist for a while.

On the blue star, Xiaoyu took Badai, Tangtang and others, and finally made a prototype of a super-giant intelligent shield machine.

After the prototype is manufactured, it is necessary to continue the test, and after obtaining the desired data, it can be improved to mass-produce the ultra-giant intelligent shield machine.

The length of this shield machine exceeds 2 kilometers, and the diameter exceeds 100 meters. The amount of earth excavated per second is equivalent to the amount of excavation by hundreds of large excavators in a day.

Although the prototype was manufactured, Su Yuan hadn’t come back yet, and Xiaoyu hadn’t started digging either.

Because of the time difference between the different-dimensional space and the blue star, Xiaoyu felt that Su Yuan had just left for more than 20 days.

In fact, Su Yuan and others on a different-dimensional planet feel that they have been participating in the competition for several months.

Xiaoyu came to the ground from Sky City with Bad Bad and others to check the assembled smart shield machine.

The whole machine is assembled by intelligent robots, and it can be said that the number of turns of each screw is recorded.

It seems that this machine has no problems at all. Once it is in operation, it will be a huge mountain, which can be hollowed out by it.

”Sister Xiaoyu, why don’t we try it! We don’t know when the master will come back. When he comes back, why don’t we give him a surprise?” Badass asked eagerly.

Xiaoyu also wanted to try, but Su Yuan used to be the one to decide such a big matter, so she was a little uncertain.

”However, the master has not yet decided where to start digging!”

”There’s nothing to be sure about. Let’s analyze the Blue Star’s data to see where to dig out the Blue Star. It would be more appropriate to place the keel!” Tangtang interjected.

Xiaoyu was right after thinking about it. When Su Yuan came back, he would probably ask where it would be more appropriate to dig.

She clicked on the system, and the stereoscopic projection of Blue Star appeared in front of her.

Immediately, Xiaoyu began to analyze the geological composition of Blue Star.

After the seawater is removed, the blue star will become an ugly elliptical planet. Then, according to the orbit of the blue star and the distribution of the city in the sky, after comprehensive consideration, the excavation site is determined.

In the end, Xiaoyu chose to start excavation on the Black State Continent near the equator. If all goes well, the first tunnel will cross the Blue Star along the equator.

After selecting the excavation site, Xiaoyu called the planetary starship to transport the intelligent shield machine to the Black State Continent.

At the same time, Su Xiaoqiang and other construction robots were allowed to build temporary factories and offices for construction.

These factories will produce smart shield machines nearby, spare parts and other materials that usually need to be replaced.

After finishing the preparatory work, the smart shield machine will start working.

The blades of the huge gears began to rotate, and even reinforced concrete could be crushed.

Unlike other TBMs, this TBM starts digging vertically down instead of horizontally.

The excavated soil and gravel will be automatically transported back to the ground. If you encounter ore with a relatively high mineral content, you can also pull it to smelt.

While excavating, the surrounding rock walls are simultaneously reinforced.

In the early stage, various alloys and high-strength concrete will be used for reinforcement.

When encountering a magma layer in the later stage, high-temperature-resistant macromolecular materials will be used to insulate the temperature, and superconducting alloy rods for cooling will be inserted into the rock wall to reduce the surrounding temperature, and then strengthened.

In this way, the safety and integrity of the entire tunnel are guaranteed, so that landslides will not occur.

The entire excavation process uses intelligent robots and does not require any human participation.

Because the temperature, humidity and oxygen content in the tunnel are not suitable for human beings, unless wearing protective clothing such as combat mech.

Xiaoyu stayed in the temporary office at the excavation site with Badass, Tangtang and others, monitoring various data of the intelligent shield machine in real time.

The smart shield machine will detect the rock formation ahead and use different cutter gears according to the hardness of the rock formation.
