Archean Eon Art

Chapter 470 Deterrence

“I’m afraid many people will find you a busybody,” said Liu Qiyue with a smile as she read through the letters.

Meng Chuan took a sip of tea. “They can think of me however they want.”

After reading the two letters, Liu Qiyue nodded and said, “I think there’s no problem with the two letters. It’s reasonable. Furthermore, in the past 40 years, the world has been peaceful. The population has doubled, and the way the world is governed needs some changing. Furthermore, you wrote these letters personally. Black Sand Grotto-Heaven and Two World Island require your help, so even if they go through the motions, they will still do something.”

“It’s fine as long as you think there’s no problem.” Meng Chuan nodded and looked outside.

Swoosh.

An avian demon servant instantly appeared and greeted respectfully, “Master.”

“Send these two letters to Archean Mountain.” Meng Chuan casually threw the two letters at the avian demon servant. The avian demon servant took them and bowed slightly before disappearing into the sky.

“By the way, Ah Chuan,” said Liu Qiyue. “What’s wrong with An’er? Archean Mountain has many female Godfiends that admire him, but he doesn’t care about any of them.”

“Yes.” Meng Chuan held his teacup and nodded in thought. “An’er was very normal when he was young. He didn’t experience any major setbacks when he was growing up. It’s most likely that a special cultivation technique has affected his temperament. It could also be a result of Ancestral Master Archean Eon’s legacy.”

“Then, can we do anything about it?” Liu Qiyue asked worriedly.

“Didn’t you already try many times?” asked Meng Chuan with a smile.

“All my attempts failed,” said Liu Qiyue worriedly. Her son had been alone for many years. Now that he was guarding a city alone, how could she not worry?

“We’ve done everything we can. Furthermore, An’er is a Regis Godfiend. There’s no need for us to worry about him too much,” said Meng Chuan.

Liu Qiyue shook her head. “What can I say about you?” Huh? Meng Chuan held his teacup in one hand as a token suddenly appeared in his other hand. A spot on the token’s map emitted a blood-red glow.

“A life-and-death request.” Meng Chuan’s expression changed.

Liu Qiyue saw the token map as well. “Is it in the Great Yue Dynasty?”.

“I’m going out for a while.” While his voice was still echoing, Meng Chuan had already vanished.

Liu Qiyue looked out of the house, but she didn’t see the bolt of lightning disappearing into the southern horizon.

The Great Zhou Dynasty and the Black Sand Dynasty had nearly 70 large cities each. Countless forts and villages surrounded these large cities. Although the Great Yue Dynasty had a vast territory, it only had 23 large cities. In the past 40 peaceful years, the Great Yue Dynasty’s population had increased rapidly. People needed commerce, trade, and better living environments. Therefore, they began repairing and rebuilding the cities that they had abandoned in the past. Over 200 medium-sized cities were rebuilt.

The Great Yue Dynasty’s Sunset River City was one such city.

More than one kilometer away from Sunset River City, a huge void hole suddenly appeared in the afternoon. It was more than three kilometers wide. One could clearly see the Demon Realm on the other side of the World Entrance.

“What?”

“That’s—”

The guards on Sunset River City’s city walls were shocked when they saw the huge World Entrance that had suddenly appeared. Some guards lit beacons frantically, while others crushed their tokens to request help.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

In Sunset River City, one Great Solar Godfiend and two Indestructible Godfiends flew to the top of a tree and looked towards the eastern city wall. Due to the distance, the city walls prevented them from seeing the World Entrance.

“What happened?”

“Could it be an unstable World Entrance?”

“There are still demon monarchs invading?” The three Godfiends were somewhat puzzled. They stepped on tree crowns and roofs as they rushed to the eastern city wall as light beams.

At that moment, a massive bear demon monarch—who was nearly 200 feet tallpassed through the World Entrance and arrived in the human world. He stood at the World Entrance’s exit and didn’t continue advancing.

“Human city? How lucky.” The bear demon monarch grinned hideously. He suddenly roared and cast his divine power.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

A black wind blotted out the sky, blanketing the world as it swept across everything.

Flowers, plants, and trees were completely destroyed. Sunset River City’s eastern city wall instantly crumbled under the black wind. The black wind swept up the horrified, fleeing guards as they cried out in pain before being reduced to blood. All the buildings and trees in the city were pulverized. Before many people could react, the black wind wiped them out completely. The black wind was extremely fast. In the blink of an eye, it traveled more than a kilometer away.

The three Godfiends-who were rushing towards the eastern city wall—were shocked when they saw the terrifying black wind tear everything apart. The Indestructible Godfiend nearest to the city wall turned around and fled in fright. However, in just an instant, the black wind covered an area over a kilometer wide and inundated him as it howled.

Swoosh! Swoosh!

Wherever the black wind passed, everything was destroyed. Mortals died. Even Indestructible Godfiends died instantly.

“Request reinforcements.” “Quick, send the life-and-death request.” The other two Godfiends watched the destructive black wind from afar. Horrified, they requested for reinforcements as they fled.

The black wind billowed as it swept over five kilometers.

King Eastcalm can travel 5,000 kilometers in three seconds. I have to retreat quickly. The stocky fourth Firmament bear demon monarch was very cautious. He immediately retreated back into the World Entrance after casting his divine power once.

Over the years, the demons had suffered terribly at King Eastcalm’s hands!

Therefore, they learned their lesson. Although Sunset River City was akin to a nice piece of fatty meat-one that he could easily devour within 30 seconds—the bear demon still chose to give up and retreat.

Another three seconds later.

Swoosh.

Meng Chuan appeared above Sunset River City.

The silver mystic patterns on both sides of his face faded as the silver lightning around him disappeared. He continued to scan the city as he stood on his Bloodblade Disc.

Having cast his divine power—Flowing Sandto travel at full speed, Meng Chuan could travel about 1,900 kilometers in a second. In just three seconds, he could travel over 5,000 kilometers. With such terrifying speed, Meng Chuan could travel anywhere in the world within nine seconds. In the past few years, only Meng Chuan could arrive at the attacked places in a short time. He was also the only one that could handle any other emergencies.

This was also why Two World Island and Black Sand Grotto-Heaven needed Meng Chuan’s help.

A new large World Entrance? Meng Chuan looked down and saw the new World Entrance. It was more than three kilometers wide. He also saw the bear demon monarch and other demon monarchs on the other side of the World Entrance. They nervously glanced at the human world, but they didn’t dare enter. These demons are becoming more and more crafty. They know that I’m fast, so they immediately flee after surprise attacking a city. They aren’t greedy at all. Meng Chuan glanced down at Sunset River City.

Sunset River City spanned about 30 kilometers wide. Part of the city’s eastern region had been reduced to ruins. Pools of blood dyed the ruins red. It should be a large-scale attack that swept through the city in a short period of time. It probably killed tens of thousands of people.

Meng Chuan’s expression was cold, but his invisible domain hid him from sight. The demons couldn’t see him at all.

He waited silently.

However, the demons did not enter.

“Don’t be anxious. King Eastcalm has likely arrived. This is a stable World Entrance. We will have time to attack slowly in the future.” The demon monarchs on the World Entrance’s other side were very patient. “Your Majesty, you earned lots of credits by slaughtering tens of thousands of humans this time.” Some demon monarchs curried favor. They received credits for every human they killed. He gained lots of credits for killing tens of thousands of humans.“Hahaha.” The bear demon monarch laughed as he stared at the other side of the World Entrance.

Meng Chuan waited for ten minutes.

Only after ten minutes did a black-robed, saber-wielding man fly over to Meng Chuan.

“Greetings, King Eastcalm,” said the black-robed, saber-wielding man politely. “King Mushui.” Meng Chuan nodded in greeting. “When I came, this area in Sunset River City was destroyed. Tens of thousands of people died. The demons are very cunning. They didn’t enter the city directly.”

The black-robed, saber-wielding man frowned slightly as he looked at the three-kilometer-wide World Entrance. He gratefully said, “Thank you, King Eastcalm. If it weren’t for your deterrence, the demons would have long wiped out Sunset River City. After a large number of demons enter, they would quickly spread out and attack various areas. With you around, the demons have to be cautious. Because of you, they didn’t slaughter millions of people.” His words were filled with flattery.

King Eastcalm looked at the ruins. The blood that dyed the area red weighed on his heart.

“I’ll leave this to you. I’ll head back first,” said Meng Chuan.

“Don’t worry, King Eastcalm. Two World Island will deal with this place properly,” said King Mushui immediately.
