Chapter 37 Making Fertilizers

Chapter 37 Making Fertilizers
You can’t eat so many sea fish at one time, so you have to find a way to store them.

And the best way is to raise them in captivity, and grab fresh ones whenever you want to eat them.

After flashing thoughts in his mind, Lin Feng immediately called the savages to start digging holes in place to introduce seawater.

”Quick, come here and dig a hole, I’ll pen him up and raise these fish.”

As he spoke, Lin Feng took out a shovel from his bag and handed it over to everyone to start digging.

When digging the fishpond, Lin Feng did not forget to ask people to water the sea fish to cool down.

The fish pond does not need to be particularly large. Everyone dug it half a meter deep and two or three meters long and wide.

Lin Feng then laid wood in the pit and used the logs as the bottom layer of waterproofing and hoardings.

When the interior is laid, leave a hole and dig a water channel from the side to lead into the pool.

Under the effect of the height difference, the seawater quickly rushed towards the pond, and the fish pond was filled with water in a short time.

Seal the gap and direct the wild people around to pour the captured sea fish into the pool.

After entering the pool, the sea fish immediately regained their vitality and began to jump in the water non-stop.

It’s a pity that there are too many companions, and they are overwhelmed before jumping up.

Looking at these white fish, Lin Feng was very satisfied.

But looking up at the sun, these ’babies’ can’t be left here to dry all the time.

They have to build a shed to shelter them from the harsh sunlight.

Lin Feng was familiar with building a shed.

In twos and threes, an awning will be built.

In this way, these sea fish will not become dried fish the next day.

After setting up the awning, Lin Feng built a slightly larger shed beside it, and at the same time called the savages to continue digging.

This time it is not to build another fish pond, but to prepare fertilizer.

Fertilizers take a certain amount of time to ferment before they can be formed.

Although it is not impossible to slowly ferment the viscera of fish, how many viscera can one fish or a hundred fish get?
The internal organs of sea fish are not bad as nourishment accumulated over time.

But what he needs now is a large amount of viscera to be fermented into fertilizer, and the best choice is those 22 sea sharks.

Each sea shark is several meters long, and there are two or three savages on top of its head.

This single sea shark can be as large as hundreds of sea fish.

It would be a pity if this was not fermented into fertilizer.

The savages were arranged to dig three pits, each five meters long and three meters wide.

The pit is less than half a meter deep. After all, it is used to ferment into fertilizer. If it is too deep, the hot air will not be able to go down.

At that time, the lowest internal organs may not rot and ferment into fertilizer, but may become a pile of indescribable things.

After the hole was dug, it was time to slaughter the sea shark.

Go under the shade house and take out a shark carcass from the backpack.

The wound on Hai Shark’s body was bleeding slowly at this moment, as if it had just died.

Then he took two small knives out of the bag and gesticulated on the sea shark, not knowing where to start the dissection.

Lin Feng had killed the fish before, so he knew how to clean it up.

But this is the first time he has seen a sea shark, and he never thought that one day he would dissect a sea shark and make its internal organs into fertilizer.

After struggling for a long time, Lin Feng looked at the savages who were watching the fun.

”Who among you can dissect this thing?”

Hearing Lin Feng’s question, everyone looked at each other and shook their heads to say no.

After a lap, Lin Feng was a little disappointed. It seemed that he had to dissect the sea shark himself.

But in order to make the next work easier, Lin Feng casually appointed two people to be his assistants.

Come to ’learn’ how to kill sea sharks.

Looking at the shape of the sea shark, Lin Feng could only dissect it as a fish.

Anyway, the internal structure of the ’fish’ should be similar, and the anatomy should not be much different.

First cut off all the fins on the sea shark and put them aside, this is one of the few edible places on the sea shark.

Then let the savage turn the sea shark’s body sideways, and plunge the dagger into the sea shark’s belly.

Swipe down along the center line, and soon the sea shark has a big hole in its stomach.

The various internal organs can be seen clearly at this moment.

I took a bucket of fresh water from the backpack, poured some into it, and started to clean it up.

The fishy smell of seafood and the bloody smell of sea sharks, the two flavors are mixed very well.

After half of the cleaning, Lin Feng couldn’t take it anymore, and hurriedly left the slaughtering position, and came to the side to breathe the fresh air for a while.

Wait until the recovery is almost done before going back to start the next work.

After cleaning the organs inside the shark, mix the taken out things and smash them.

After the spoils are beaten finely, spread them in the dug holes.

The viscera of a sea shark is evenly laid out, almost enough to cover a pit with a fermentation layer of about two centimeters.

On the first layer of viscera, Lin Feng asked the savage to cover it with a thin layer of soil, preparing to lay another layer of viscera on top.

Fill in the next hole until one hole is filled.

But before that, the hollowed-out sea shark has to go through the next three steps.

Peel, cramp, cut flesh.

The skin of the sea shark is a good thing. It can be used as a decorative protective gear, and it can be used as a nourishing soup.

And the muscles and bones in the sea shark’s body are a good thing. This thing has another name, shark muscles.

After pulling out and drying it in the sun, it will become a very tough rope, which is the best choice to use as a bowstring.

As for the meat cutting, this is to use everything on the sea shark in accordance with the principle of not being wasted.

Although the taste of shark meat is not very good, it is also a kind of food reserve when there is a shortage of food.

After a lot of tossing, Lin Feng finally stripped a complete sea shark to only a head and bones.

He didn’t expect these things to be useful for a while, but he still put them back into the backpack based on the principle of not being wasted.

At the same time, he greeted the savages who had been watching for a long time, and took out the rest of the sea sharks and gave them to slaughter and dissect.

And let them follow the steps he just did to fill the fertilizer pit with viscera.

After working until the evening, everyone filled up the second fertilizer pit.

But looking at the two sea sharks left in the backpack, it seems that they have dug too much.

Lin Feng didn’t plan to backfill the third pit either, and he planned to throw the little scraps here when he slaughtered sea fish in the future.

In this way, it can be regarded as getting some fertilizer over time.

Set up a simple waterproof layer around the fish pond and fertilizer pit in case the high tide causes flooding at night.

Lin Feng is also not sure whether the tide will be high tonight. It took seven days from the first day of high tide to yesterday.

During this seven-day period, except for the high tide on the first and last two days, he didn’t even see a shadow in the middle.

Guessing according to this law, Lin Feng feels that the tide will not rise, but in order to ensure the safety of these two items.

He still set up a waterproof layer for these two items just in case.

After simple cleaning, Lin Feng started to prepare dinner for tonight.
