War Sovereign Soaring The Heavens

After Duan Ling Tian left, Ru Lai; the Temple Master of the Title Temple Heaven in the Pavilion Shaft Heaven, stopped checking the identities of the young geniuses.

A figure who stood near the Primeval Cliff, unnoticed by the members of the Heavenly Palace of the Primeval Heaven, asked, “How confident are you?”

“Rest assured, Vice Temple Master Xu, I’m 90% confident,” Ru Lai said confidently.

“Not 100%?” The figure standing in front of Ru Lai was none other than Xu Kong Hai, the Vice Temple Master of the main Title Temple.

Ru Lai had sought Xu Kong Hai’s help since he was worried Feng Qing Yang might interfere and spoil his plans. He had asked Xu Kong Hai to help him stall for time if Feng Qing Yang came since he needed time to carry out his plan.

Xu Kong Hai was unaware of Ru Lai’s intention to possess Duan Ling Tian. He did not even know that Ru Lai had been possessed by Great Master Miyan from the Land of the Dead.

Great Master Miyan was a sly old fox. He knew the Title Temple would not let Duan Ling Tian, who had formed two of the Four Daos of Heaven and Earth, go so easily. Therefore, he had lied to Xu Kong Hai and said he planned to capture Duan Ling Tian and bring Duan Ling Tian to the Title Temple. His true intention was to go into hiding for about 100 years after possessing Duan Ling Tian since that was how long it would take for his divine soul to heal. He intended to let Ru Lai become the scapegoat.

Nevertheless, Great Master Miyan there was no way for him to escape Feng Qing Yang’s wrath. Gongsun Xuanyuan and Feng Qing Yang were friends, after all. If Gongsun Xuanyuan told Feng Qing Yang that Ru Lai was, in fact, possessed by him, Feng Qing Yang would undoubtedly believe Gongsun Xuanyuan.

Xu Kong Hai frowned, clearly displeased.

Upon seeing this, Great Master Miyan said reassuringly, “In fact, I’m 100% confident. However, nothing is 100% guaranteed in this world… It’s better for me to be modest…”

Xu Kong Hai nodded. “Don’t waste time. Make your move as soon as the opportunity presents itself. Since you said Feng Qing Yang left a divine mark on Duan Ling Tian, he’ll be instantly alerted as soon as you make a move on Duan Ling Tian…”

“Yes,” Great Master Miyan replied before he took his leave.

Following that, Great Master Miyan found the elder of the Heavenly Palace of the Primeval Heaven responsible for controlling the Formations that guarded the Primeval Cliff. He said, “I’d like to visit the Primeval Cliff…”

The elder of the Heavenly Palace of the Primeval Heaven raised an eyebrow and said hesitantly, “Temple Master Ru Lai, our Lord Heavenly Emperor only agreed to grant the 100 participants of the Devata Realms’ Battle of the Geniuses entry to the Primeval Cliff. I’m afraid I can’t let you enter…”

Great Master Miyan seemed to have expected this response. He said with a smile, “Elder, I just want to check on the disciples of the Title Temple to see if they need any guidance comprehending the laws at the Primeval Cliff. Isn’t it fine if you let me enter once?”

Great Master Miyan paused for a moment as he brought a ferrule out from his Spatial Ring before he said with a smile, “This ferrule is an Emperor Grade Celestial Weapon that has been with me for many years. Although its soul is injured, all it needs is time to recover. As celestials, all we have is time. Elder, as a token of appreciation for letting me visit the Primeval Cliff, I’ll give this ferrule to you. What do you think?”

Although the elder’s eyes lit up when he heard Great Master Miyan’s words, he said skeptically, “Temple Master Ru Lai, guiding your disciples is just a pretext to visit the Primeval Cliff, right?”

Great Master Miyan remained calm. “Elder, you’re truly smart. However, what does my intention matter to you? If anything happens, you can say I threatened you and that you were helpless. Even if you were punished to leave the Heavenly Palace of the Primeval Heaven, I’m sure this Emperor Grade Celestial Weapon would make up for it. Don’t you agree?”

Great Master Miyan was confident the elder would not be able to resist the temptation of an Emperor Grade Celestial Weapon with an artifact soul even if the artifact soul was injured. He was certain the Emperor Grade Celestial Weapon was enough to tempt an ordinary titled Celestial Emperor into committing treason.

The elder’s expression slightly before he reached out to take the ferrule. Then, he said, “Thank you, Temple Master Ru Lai.”

Following that, the elder deactivated the Formation and stepped aside, “Please enter, Temple Master Ru Lai.”

Great Master Miyan nodded and flew to the Primeval Cliff. His eyes shone with greed and excitement when he thought about the precious treasure waiting for him at the Primeval Cliff. Soon after, his body flickered and he turned invisible to avoid detection by the young geniuses.

He was quick to discover his target. He saw a handsome purple-clad young man shrouded by the law of space’s energy. The greed in his eyes intensified as he muttered to himself, “His body is much stronger than Ru Lai’s body…”

Then, Great Master Miyan waved his hand. 36 shiny beads shot out from his hand and hovered neatly in a formation. He had just cast a Formation to isolate Duan Ling Tian.

Meanwhile, Duan Ling Tian who was comprehending the law of space at the Primeval Cliff was instantly alerted. He could sense something was amiss through his Divine Consciousness. When he looked around, he discovered he seemed to be in the midst of space Formation. Following that, he saw a familiar figure approaching him. It was none other than Ru Lai, the Temple Master of the Title Temple in the Pavilion Shaft Heaven.

Duan Ling Tian asked solemnly, “Temple Master Ru Lai? What are you doing here?”

“I’m here for you.” Great Master Miyan’s eyes burned feverishly as he stared at Duan Ling Tian like a hungry wolf staring at its prey.

Seeing that the person in front of him had shed all pretenses, Duan Ling Tian bluntly asked, “May I know why you seem to dislike me?”

Duan Ling Tian had been curious about this.

“Dislike you?” Great Master Miyan was slightly taken aback. He shook his head and said with barely concealed greed, “You’re mistaken. I don’t dislike you. I only want your body and the Daos you created…”

Duan Ling Tian’s eyes narrowed as realization dawned on him. He finally understood why the person in front of him dared to probe him in front of his master after learning he was a Yan Huang Entity. “So you want to possess my body?”

“That’s right!” Great Master Yan replied, “However, my soul was injured by your master, and I’ll only be able to possess your body after recuperating for 100 years. I plan to imprison you in my Little World for the next 100 years…”

After Great Master Miyan finished speaking, he stepped forward. He said with a grin, “I know Feng Qing Yang left his divine mark on you. Alas, he won’t be able to make it in time. All he’ll know is that his divine mark has been destroyed, but he won’t know who did it. After possessing your body, I’ll master the two Daos you created and attain godhood. Following that, I’ll kill Feng Qing Yang with your body. I can’t wait for that day! It’ll be amazing…”

Then, Great Master Miyan said with bright eyes, “I’m going to imprison you now. It’s best that you don’t resist to avoid unnecessary pain…”

Following that, a terrifying pressure surged out of Great Master Miyan as the Formation began to spin. The Formation prevented the divine mark from sending out too much information. All Feng Qing Yang would be able to sense was the destruction of the divine mark and its location.

Meanwhile, Duan Ling Tian remained calm even when faced with such a huge threat. “Thank you for helping me dispel my curiosity…”

Great Master Miyan was taken aback by Duan Ling Tian’s calmness. An ominous feeling rose in his heart immediately.

Swoosh!

Suddenly, an ear-piercing sword cry rang in the air. The sound was so sharp that it shattered Great Master Miyan’s 36 beads.

Following that, a figure appeared next to Duan Ling Tian. It was none other than Feng Qing Yang who was looking at Great Master Miyan with cold killing intent.
