War Sovereign Soaring The Heavens

Little Black, Little White, and Little Gold would not be persuaded by Ji Ning Yun or the Blood Moon Ridge, but they could not disregard Duan Ling Tian’s words. Nevertheless, after Duan Ling Tian stopped them from following him, they continued to convince him to let them follow him.

“Brother Ling Tian, I’m worried about your safety… If you bring us along, we can take care of each other. You don’t have to worry about others joining forces to attack you if we’re with you.”

“Brother Ling Tian, if the Fourth Elder sent you a Voice Transmission asking you to dissuade us, just disregard it. After returning to the dragon clan’s estate, we can sneak out and meet you in the Purgatory Battlefield!”

“Brother Ling Tian, I want to follow you.”

Duan Ling Tian was moved when he heard the trio’s Voice Transmissions. In the end, he said, “Three of you should think this through. In any case, I won’t be entering the Purgatory Battlefield so soon; I’ll be staying in the Saint Province Realm for a while. You have three years to consider this. At that time, if you’re still determined to follow me, we’ll go to the Purgatory Battlefield together.”

Duan Ling Tian did not mind the trio following him to the Purgatory Battlefield even if it meant they would discover the Five Divine Elements in his body. Although they had been separated for more than 200 years, he could tell they still genuinely cared about him and their affection did not fade at all. In fact, it seemed to have grown deeper with time. Therefore, he knew they would never betray him even if they discovered he was in the possession of the Five Divine Elements. Apart from that, if it were up to him, he would prefer it if the trio joined him. After all, it would be beneficial not only to him but to the trio as well.

The trio’s eyes lit up as soon as they received Duan Ling Tian’s reply. Since Duan Ling Tian no longer stopped them, there was nothing else standing in their way.

At this moment, Ji Ning Yun said, “Before we arrived in the Saint Province Realm, I’ve already sent a message to that old man. He’ll directly return to the dragon clan after dealing with the matters in the Boundless Heaven. During this time, you can all stay here and accompany your Brother Ling Tian.”

…

In just a blink of an eye, three months had passed, and it was time for Little Black, Little White, and Little Gold to leave. In order to avoid arousing suspicions, the trio behaved obediently.

During this time, the trio had grown closer to Huan’er. Even Ji Ning Yun got along very well with her.

Before they left the Saint Province Realms for the Ten Thousand Beasts Heaven, the trio exchanged Soul Pearls with Duan Ling Tian. Naturally, they also sent Voice Transmissions to Duan Ling Tian, telling him they would return to meet him as soon as possible.

After the trio left, Duan Ling Tian asked Huan’er’s parents, “Senior Lian Qiu, Senior Du Xuan, do you have any plans after this?”

Since Huan’er would follow him to the Purgatory Battlefield, in order to give Huan’er peace of mind, it was important that he made sure her parents settled down before they left.

“We plan to stay in the Saint Province Realm for the time being,” Du Xuan said as she looked at Duan Ling Tian with a hint of satisfaction. At this moment, she looked like a mother-in-law who was pleased by her son-in-law. “We’ll discuss future plans when you and Huan’er return from the Purgatory Battlefield.”

Although Du Xuan and Lian Qiu were aware of the dangers lurking in the Purgatory Battlefield, they were assured by Duan Ling Tian’s brimming confidence. Moreover, Lian Qiu had seen Duan Ling Tian injuring Lei Ying, the Merciless Celestial Emperor, whom even Lian Qiu was no match for.

Duan Ling Tian nodded.

…

Over the next period of time, Duan Ling Tian, Huan’er, Du Xuan, and Lian Qiu wandered to every corner of the Saint Province Realm.

When they passed through places Duan Ling Tian had connections to, Huan’er would explain them to her parents and recount Duan Ling Tian’s experiences to them.

When Du Xuan and Lian Qiu heard about Duan Ling Tian’s experiences, they realized it was a miracle that Duan Ling Tian was able to survive until today considering the hard life he had led. After all, Du Xuan and Lian Qiu were born in privilege. One of them was born in the Phantom Fox Clan, and the other had a noble background and joined the heaven-grade Heavenly Sword Mountain when he grew up.

…

In just a blink of an eye, three years had passed.

When it was close to their meeting time, only Little Gold showed up.

“Brother Ling Tian, I spoke to Little Black and Little White before I snuck out. They told me the Grand Elder and the Fourth Elder are keeping a close eye on them so they haven’t found a chance to sneak out. They don’t dare to act recklessly since if they’re caught, it would be even more difficult for them to sneak out again. Both of them asked us to wait for another year. If they still can’t leave at that time, we can enter the Purgatory Field without them,” Little Gold explained.

“Alright, then let’s wait for another year.” Duan Ling Tian nodded. He was somewhat happy to hear this since this proved the dragon clan truly cherished Little Black and Little White. In fact, it was far beyond what he had expected.

…

After a year had passed, Little Black and Little Gold still failed to show up. Therefore, Little Gold returned to the Ten Thousand Beasts Heaven to confirm that the duo was unable to follow them to Purgatory Battlefield. After confirming the duo truly could not leave the dragon clan’s estate, Duan Ling Tian and Little Gold had no choice but to enter the Purgatory Battlefield without Little Black and Little White.

…

In the Jade Emperor Heaven’s Jade Emperor Territory…

“Brother Ling Tian, the entrance to the Purgatory Battlefield should be up ahead…” Little Gold said when she saw a two-story building.

The entrance to the Purgatory Battlefield could be found in all Devata Realms. However, the exits were not fixed even though one would usually be transported back to the Devata Realm they came from.

Duan Ling Tian randomly decided to enter the Purgatory Battlefield through the entrance in the Jade Emperor Heaven. After all, it did not matter which entrance he used; they were all the same.

When they drew closer to the buildings, they saw many small platforms around the building. There were people on some of the platforms as well. After these people inscribed their names on the platform, they would vanish into thin air.

“Brother Ling Tian, these Transportation Formations on the platforms will bring us to the Purgatory Battlefield… All we need to do is inscribe our name on the platform,” Little Gold said.

Before leaving the Blood Moon Ridge in the Ten Thousand Beasts Heaven, Little Gold had studied everything she could about the Purgatory Battlefield.

“If someone who shares the same name as you enters the Purgatory Battlefield, you won’t be able to enter until that person is eliminated. Killing opponents in there will earn you military merits. You can easily check your merit points and rank with just a thought. Only those in the top 1,100 places will be ranked and be given military ranks. The top individuals will be given the rank of Commander the following 1,000 will be given the ranks of Lieutenant. Apart from that, we can also use our military merit points to trade for a chance to enter secret zones. If you have enough military merits, you can trade for a chance to enter a certain secret zone on your own. Using up your military merits will not affect your ranking,” Little Gold explained.

After listening to Little Gold, Duan Ling Tian gained a better understanding of the Purgatory Battlefield.

“It seems like we can enter in groups,” Duan Ling Tian said when he saw people in groups of twos and threes being transported away at the same time. After a beat, he asked, “Little Gold, since they’re transported away together, they should appear at the same location in the Purgatory Battlefield, right?”

“Yes.” Little Gold nodded and said with a smile on her face, “Brother Ling Tian, all we have to do is use the same Transportation Formation and inscribe our name at the same time if we want to be transported to the same location in the Purgatory Battlefield.”

Duan Ling Tian nodded. Then, he called out Huan’er before he led them to one of the small platforms.

Following Little Gold’s instructions, the trio inscribed their names at the same time before they vanished into thin air.

When the darkness faded away and was replaced by light, Duan Ling Tian found himself in a place that was shrouded by thick fog. Due to the terrible visibility, he could not really see his surroundings.

After he confirmed Little Gold and Huan’er were both with him, he checked his military merits with just a thought. He discovered he had one military merit point and was ranked at the 137,615th place. Apart from that, he saw a list of names as well. It was not difficult for him to figure out the list of names was the ranking for the top 1,100 people in the Purgatory Battle.
