War Sovereign Soaring The Heavens

In a Southern Heaven Territory’s region that was not occupied by any force.

In the courtyard of a grand mansion located in a big city, a young man dressed in fine robes sat in front of a table, sipping tea. At this moment, he suddenly paused in his movement, and his expression darkened at the same time.

“What happened, Chen Li?” The other young man sitting across him looked at him in confusion. This young man was dressed in all white and was extremely handsome. He held a folded fan in his hand, looking like a scholarly gentleman. A gentle smile like the spring breeze could be seen on his face at all times.

“Do you remember the last time you were here I mentioned a genius from the Profound Nether Mansion’s Simplicity Celestial Sect?” The young man dressed in fine robes was Chen Li, the illegitimate son of the Blood Skull Gang’s Chen Yuan Shan. He had just received a message from his father a moment ago.

The white-clad young man nodded. “Yes. What happened?”

Chen Li said grimly, “The mission hasn’t been completed until now…”

“What?” The white-clad young man was taken aback. After all, he was very aware of the Blood Skull Gang’s capabilities. And yet, after such a long time, the Blood Skull Gang had yet to successfully assassinate an Overarching Heavenly Supreme Celestial? When he regained his senses, he asked, “Does he possess life-saving techniques or items?”

“Initially, yes. We confirmed it to be a consumable Royal Grade Celestial Weapon… With it, he managed to kill the first assassin we sent who was a One Basic Celestial King,” Chen Li said, “His consumable Royal Grade Celestial Weapon could raise his cultivation base and Divine Consciousness to the level of a One Basic Celestial Lord. Although the profundities of the law he comprehended aren’t extraordinary, his strength was enough to kill the One Basic Celestial King the Blood Skull Gang sent.”

The white-clad young man nodded and asked again, “After that, the Blood Skull Gang should have sent a stronger assassin, right?” He knew that as one of the top assassin organizations in the Southern Heaven Territory, once the Blood Skull Gang accepted a job, they would have to successfully complete it, no matter what.

Chen Li continued to say, “The second assassin we sent was a Six Combos Celestial King. Apart from that, he had also comprehended six profundities from the law of wind.”

“A Six Combos Celestial King who had comprehended six profundities from the law of wind… If I’m not mistaken, there should only be a handful of people in the Profound Nether Mansion’s territories who are a match for him, right?” the white-clad young man asked in surprise, “Did he fail as well?”

At this moment, Chen Li’s expression darkened even more. “It’s not just that. Similar to the One Basic Celestial King we sent, he died in one of the Profound Nether Mansion’s territories as well!”

“What? Even a Six Combos Celestial King who had comprehended six profundities from the law of wind died?” The white-clad young man was further shocked. “Did a powerhouse protecting the target kill the Six Combos Celestial King?”

“I don’t know… He did not manage to send a final message back to the Blood Skull Gang so we don’t know who killed him,” Chen Li replied. Then, he continued to say, “After that, we sent the third assassin, a Nine Palaces Celestial King.”

“A Nine Palaces Celestial King!” The white-clad young man raised his eyebrows when he heard Chen Li’s words. “An assassin with that cultivation base could assassinate most people in the Profound Nether Mansion’s territories as long as he stays under the radar, right? With the Nine Palaces Celestial King, the mission should be a success, right?” In his opinion, sending a Nine Palaces Celestial King to assassinate a peak Overarching Heavenly Supreme Celestial was akin to using a grenade launcher to kill a chicken.

At this moment, Chen Li looked as though he was going to lose his temper as he said through gritted teeth, “The target managed to escape!”

“How did that happen?” the white-clad young man asked with a frown.

Chen Li seethed with anger as he continued to say through gritted teeth, “The damned Sect Leader of the Simplicity Celestial Sect had given the target a Wind Shadow Escape Talisman that the Mansion Master of the Profound Nether Mansion rewarded him. That Wind Shadow Escape Talisman contained the Celestial Origin Energy of a Celestial Lord and the law of wind’s Gale Profundity and Wind Style Profundity. Moreover, the Gale Profundity and the Wind Style Profundity in the talisman were both at the initial stage! With that talisman, it was, naturally, easy for the target to escape from the Nine Palaces Celestial King! Therefore, the Nine Palaces Celestial King could only come back empty-handed.”

Chen Li’s eyes flashed intently with killing intent the entire time he recounted what happened to the white-clad young man. As the guarantor and the person who approved the job, he was under immense pressure since the target repeatedly escaped from the Blood Skull Gang’s assassins. If it were not for his father’s support, the other high-ranking officials in the Blood Skull Gang would have had his head on a pike.

“A Wind Shadow Escape Talisman that contained the Celestial Origin Energy of a Celestial Lord and the law of wind’s Gale Profundity and Wind Style Profundity that were at the initial stage?” the white-clad young man’s eyes flashed as he said, “With a Celestial Talisman like that, even a Ten Directions Celestial King could only watch as he escapes, let alone a Nine Palace Celestial King. However, I’m surprised that the sect leader of a grade-seven sect possessed such an item. It seems like the Mansion Master of the Profound Nether Mansion regards him highly. Well, in any case, he can’t compare to you…”

At this moment, as though he just recalled something, Chen Li looked at the white-clad young man and asked, “Right, isn’t it about time for your Dao Scholar Profound Sect to select true disciples again? Are you confident about being selected as a true disciple?”

“I’m 100% confident.” The white-clad young man narrowed his eyes, and a confident expression appeared on his handsome face when he replied to Chen Li’s question.

“I’ll congratulate you in advance then,” Chen Li said with a forced smile on his face. His forced smile made him look worse than if he were crying.

Chen Li’s friend, the white-clad young man, was a core disciple of the Dao Scholar Profound Sect, one of the top five sects in the Southern Heaven Territory. Moreover, he was also one of the top core disciples in the sect. If he was selected as a true disciple of the Dao Scholar Profound Sect this time, he would be the youngest true disciple in the history of the Dao Scholar Profound Sect.

Unlike the numbers of true disciples in ordinary sects, it should be noted that there were only three true disciples in the Dao Scholar Profound Sect at one time.

The white-clad shifted the conversation back to its original course and asked, “Seeing how you lost your composure earlier, you must have received a message, right? Who is it from?”

“It’s my father,” Chen Li sighed as he said disgruntledly, “He just informed me the target had left for the Jade Emperor Heaven through the Transporting Formation in Ax Mountain City three days ago. As for his destination in the Jade Emperor Heaven, no one knows except for him and his companion. Naturally, we can find out their destination in the Jade Emperor if the Profound Nether Mansion allows the Blood Skull Gang’s Formation master to examine the Transporting Formation the target used. However, it’s impossible for the Profound Nether Mansion to allow something like that”

“The Profound Nether Mansion?” The white-clad young man cocked an eyebrow upon hearing Chen Li’s words. “Perhaps, I can help you with this.”

“Hm?” Chen Li instinctively turned to look at the white-clad young man.

“I have a junior brother who came from the Profound Nether Mansion… He had told me that his father is the Vice Mansion Master of the Profound Nether Mansion. Naturally, it’s impossible for me to ask him to help you kill a genius from a sect under the Profound Nether Mansion. However, there shouldn’t be a problem with me asking him to let the Blood Skull Gang’s Formation master examine the Transporting Formation the target used. However, you have to hide your identities. You must not let them know the reason you’re examining the Transporting Formation is to hunt down a genius from one of the sects under the Profound Nether Mansion!” the white-clad young man said in one breath.

Chen Li’s eyes lit up as soon as he heard the white-clad young man’s words. He looked at the white-clad young man and said sincerely, “Brother Ru Yv, I’ll owe you a big favor if we manage to complete this mission!”

“Not at all, I’m happy to help.” The white-clad young man smiled faintly. At some point, he had unfolded his fan and was currently slowly fanning himself. It seemed like an ordinary action at first glance. However, upon closer inspection, one would be able to see green lights flashing around it like tiny writhing green snakes.

After a short moment, the white-clad young man took a Communication Celestial Talisman out before shattering it.

…

In the Dao Scholar Profound Sect’s estate.

A young man who was in the midst of cultivation suddenly received a message. “Senior Brother Yan Ru Yv?”

The young man stiffened slightly upon hearing the message, and a hint of surprise could be seen in his eyes as well. He did not expect his senior brother, Yan Ru Yv, would reach out to him for help.

After all, Yan Ru Yv was the direct disciple of the Sect Leader of the Dao Scholar Profound Sect. He was the most talented prodigy to be seen in the sect in the last 10,000 years. Apart from that, he was one of the strongest core disciples in the sect. Moreover, it was highly likely that he would be chosen to become one of the three true disciples in the sect in the near future.

For all those reasons, it was only natural for the young man to admire Yan Ru Yv. Therefore, he quickly and enthusiastically replied, “Senior Brother Ru Yv, what do you need me to do? I will do it even if I have to go through fire and boiling water!”

“There is no need for you to go through fire and boiling water for me,” Yan Ru Yv said indifferently, “I remember you saying your father is the Vice Mansion Master of the grade-six Profound Nether Mansion, right?”

“That’s right,” the young man replied.

“I have a favor to ask. I have a friend who wants his Formation master to examine a Transporting Formation in one of the Profound Nether Mansion’s territories. Can you help with this?” Yan Ru Yv bluntly asked.

“Examine a Transporting Formation in one of the Profound Nether Mansion’s territories?” The young man frowned slightly upon hearing Yan Ru Yv’s request. Then, he asked respectfully, “Senior Brother Yan, may I know who your friend is trying to track?”

Naturally, he was well aware that the only reason someone would want to examine a Transporting Formation was to track the location of the user.
