Three days later, Duan Ling Tian left the Pure Yang Sect with Yang Yu Chen.

Zhen Ping Fan, Ye Chen Feng, and Liu Feng Gu walked with the duo to the entrance to send them off. Zhen Ping Fan and Ye Chen Feng came to see Duan Ling Tian off while Liu Feng Gu came to see Yang Yu Chen off.

After Duan Ling Tian and Yang Yu Chen entered the flying ship and the flying ship disappeared from sight, Zhen Ping Fan finally said with a wry smile, “Junior Uncle Ye, originally, I thought you’d be able to enter the same force as Duan Ling Tian after you become an advanced Emperor of Gods. After both of you establish yourself, both of you will be able to look after me once I join both of you. However, it seems like there’s no hope for such a thing…”

Zhen Ping Fan sighed after he finished speaking.

Ye Chen Feng smiled and asked calmly, “Why do you say so? Do you think I won’t be able to join the Myriad Laws Academy?”

!!

Zhen Ping Fan was stunned by these words. Then, he shook his head and said, “Junior Uncle Ye, I was just joking. In fact, I don’t think you should join the Myriad Laws Academy. Duan Ling Tian joined the academy because what the academy offered him was much more valuable compared to what the other heavyweight supreme-rank forces offered him. Hence, I didn’t dissuade him from joining the academy. However, Junior Uncle Ye, you have no reason to join the academy at all.”

In Zhen Ping Fan’s opinion, it was amazing and a one-time thing that the Myriad Laws Academy personally recruited Duan Ling Tian. However, when Ye Chen Feng became an advanced Emperor of Gods, it was unlikely that the Myriad Laws Academy would personally recruit him unlike other heavyweight supreme-rank forces. Perhaps, it would be different if Ye Chen Feng became a Supreme God.

Ye Chen smiled again and said, “So you think the academy won’t recruit me? Why don’t we make a bet?”

Zhen Ping Fan shook his head and said, “Junior Uncle Ye, unless you become a Supreme God while you’re in the Pure Yang Sect, I don’t think the academy will recruit you. That aside, are you really going to stay in the Pure Yang Sect until you become a Supreme God? Even if that’s what you want, my father and the others definitely won’t allow you to stay since it’ll only hinder your progress. After you become an advanced Emperor of Gods, I don’t know about the other heavyweight supreme-rank forces, but among the nine that came previously, many will definitely try to recruit you.”

Zhen Ping Fan continued to say, “Don’t tell me you’re going to refuse them and continue to stay in the Pure Yang Sect? Let’s just say that you stay in the Pure Yang Sect until you become a Supreme God, and the Myriad Laws Academy comes to recruit you, is it worth it to wait until then?”

Indeed, would it be worth the wait?

Once Ye Chen Feng became an advanced Emperor of Gods, he would be able to join a heavyweight supreme-rank force. With his potential, he would soar even higher if he was given more resources and a better platform. If he waited until he became a rudimentary Supreme God in the Pure Yang Sect for the Myriad Laws Academy to recruit him, he would have wasted a lot of time in between. With that time, if he were in a heavyweight supreme-rank force, he would likely already become an intermediate Supreme God or at least close to becoming one.

After listening to Zhen Ping Fan’s sincere thoughts, Ye Chen Feng smiled again and asked, “So in the end, you still feel that the Myriad Laws Academy won’t recruit me when I become an advanced Emperor of Gods?”

Zhen Ping Fan did not speak and only nodded in response.

“Like I said before, why don’t we make a bet?” Ye Chen Feng asked with a smile before he said, “I bet that after I become an advanced Emperor of Gods, the Myriad Laws Academy will definitely send someone here to recruit me.”

“Impossible,” Zhen Ping Fan said as he shook his head, “Not only was there no precedent until Duan Ling Tian, but there were many people as talented as you in the past, but the academy still did not recruit them. Perhaps, only if you become a Supreme God that they might try to recruit you. Even then, they won’t recruit ordinary Supreme Gods or those who are too old…”

Previously, Zhen Ping Fan had expended a lot of effort to compile information about the heavyweight supreme-rank forces in the Profound Energy Land for Duan Ling Tian. As such, he knew quite a lot of them, including the Myriad Laws Academy.

Ye Chen Feng felt a little helpless as he said, “Just answer me. Do you dare to make a bet with me?”

“Is it necessary? You’ll only lose the bet,” Zhen Ping Fan said with a slight frown. He wondered if Ye Chen Feng wanted to give him something in an indirect manner so Ye Chen Feng came up with this bet. Whatever it was had to be valuable so he was apprehensive about accepting it so easily.

…

Duan Ling Tian was naturally unaware of Zhen Ping Fan and Ye Chen Feng’s exchange after he left. At this moment, he stood in the flying ship with Yang Yu Chen, the Vice Academy Master of the Myriad Laws Academy, as Yang Yu Chen gave an introduction of the Myriad Laws Academy.

Duan Ling Tian had read the information about the Myriad Laws Academy that Zhen Ping Fan gathered for him. However, the information was relatively superficial. Needless to say, he learned a lot more about the Myriad Laws Academy after listening to Yang Yu Chen.

After speaking about the Myriad Laws Academy, Yang Yu Chen began to introduce the Inner Palace faction. He said, “Like I told you before, there are only five members in the Inner Palace faction including you. Including you and me, there are only three members of the faction present at the Myriad Laws Academy. We have one senior brother and one senior sister in the faction who aren’t in the Profound Energy Land, and it’s unknown if they’ll return or not.”

As Yang Yu Chen continued to speak, Duan Ling Tian also learned about the origin of the Inner Palace faction. It was founded by the youngest disciple of the founder of the Myriad Laws Academy.

In the Myriad Laws Academy, the core faction was the Legacy faction. As tradition dictated, Academy Masters were all members of the Legacy faction. As such, if Yang Yu Chen became the Academy Master in the future, he would have to leave the Inner Palace faction and join the Legacy faction.

The Inner Palace faction was a secret faction and was independent of the academy to a certain extent. The Myriad Laws Academy did not have too much, if any, control over the Inner Palace faction. As such, the Inner Palace faction did not receive extra resources from the Myriad Laws Academy.

As for the Supreme Powerhouse Relic that Yang Yu Chen promised Duan Ling Tian, it was discovered by the founder of the Inner Palace faction. The relic was suspected to be the place where a supreme powerhouse had died. He had learned earlier from Yang Yu Chen that the supreme powerhouse had mastered the law of time to a high degree and that the supreme powerhouse had also mastered the Mastery Dao, one of the Four Daos of Heaven and Earth.

Yang Yu Chen also told Duan Ling Tian that he had only successfully comprehended the Mastery Dao after entering the ruins, which was the Supreme Powerhouse Relic. He had also comprehended the law of time there, but his law of time was not his strongest law.

In the history of the Inner Palace faction and the Myriad Laws Academy, there were times when the existence of the faction’s Supreme Powerhouse Relic was exposed. As such, those who found out about it naturally coveted it. However, those who acted on their greed all met their demise without exception in the end.

“After joining the Myriad Laws Academy, you’re not obligated to take action if the academy encounters danger. However, once you become stronger, if someone threatens the faction, I still hope you’ll be able to help to the best of your ability. Naturally, the faction won’t force you to do what’s beyond your capability,” Yang Yu Chen said solemnly.

Duan Ling Tian thought about it for a moment before he nodded. “Alright. That’s not a problem.”

Since Duan Ling Tian had decided to join the Myriad Laws Academy and the Inner Palace faction, he felt this was his obligation anyway. If it were within his capabilities, he would definitely repay the favor.

After a moment, Duan Ling Tian asked, “Senior Brother Yang, among the five members of the faction, what’s your rank?”

“I’m ranked third,” Yang Yu Chen replied, “Those two who aren’t in the academy and the Profound Energy Land are our Eldest Senior Brother and Eldest Senior Brother. As such, you can also address me as ‘third senior brother’. In the academy now, the other member left is my junior sister, and your senior sister. You can address her as ‘fourth senior sister’.”

Yang Yu Chen continued to say, “Our Inner Palace faction is hidden in the Myriad Laws Academy. Not many people know about it so our presence in the academy isn’t strong. Only a few high-ranking officials and disciples know about us. Many only know me as the Vice Academy Master of the Myriad Laws Academy, but they don’t know that I’m also a member of the Inner Palace faction. I came to recruit you this time mainly to invite you to join the Inner Palace faction. In fact, joining the academy is just a formality.” Then, when he saw the expression on Duan Ling Tian’s face, he added, “Don’t look at me like that. Although I’m the Vice Academy Master of the Myriad Laws Academy, the Inner Palace faction is very important. In a way, it’s even more important to me than the academy because it protects the academy.”

Yang Yu Chen’s words would be rather inappropriate if he had said them to other people. However, since Duan Ling Tian was now his junior brother, a member of the Inner Palace faction, he did not restrain himself when speaking.

“In the Myriad Laws Academy, there are ordinary students, teachers, and staff members, those from the Legacy faction, and those of us from the Inner Palace Faction. As a hidden faction, we naturally don’t have any presence in the academy. As such, in case of competitions in the academy, you’ll only be representing yourself as an ordinary student, not the faction.”

After listening to Yang Yu Chen, Duan Ling Tian realized that the Inner Palace faction was mostly independent of the Myriad Laws Academy. The Inner Palace faction did not receive resources from the academy, and the privileges he enjoyed as a member of the faction also had nothing to do with the academy. He would have to fight to obtain resources from the academy.

Yang Yu Chen said, “Even I had to fight for resources from the academy myself. It’s the same for all your other senior brothers and senior sisters in the faction.”
