Chapter 93 The Intention

Michael quickly opened another tab on his computer and typed ”Department of Foreign Affairs application for passport Philippines” into the search bar. He clicked on the official government website and navigated to the passport application section.

Upon reaching the passport application section of the official government website, Michael scanned through the requirements listed. He noted down the documents he would need to prepare, including his birth certificate, valid identification cards, and proof of address. As he read through the instructions, he made mental notes to gather all the necessary paperwork as soon as possible.

With a sense of determination, Michael began compiling the required documents. He rummaged through his files, ensuring that everything was in order and up to date. After meticulously preparing all the necessary documents, Michael submitted his passport application online. He leaned back in his chair, feeling a surge of satisfaction at having completed the task Bridget had been pestering him to do.

The confirmation message on the website assured him that his application had been successfully filed. It instructed him to wait for one to two weeks for processing.

”One to two weeks?” Michael repeated. Does it really take one or two weeks for the DFA to process a passport application? Well anyway, now that his application had been filed, he grabbed his phone and contacted Bridget.

”Bridget, good evening. Yeah, I just want to tell you that I have applied for my passport. It’s all set, and they said it would take one to two weeks for processing,” Michael informed her, keeping his tone light yet informative.

”Oh, that’s great news, Michael! I’m glad you finally took care of it. Did you opt for the expedited processing? We might need to travel soon for those meetings with potential international partners,” Bridget responded.

”Yes, I did go for the expedited option. I figured we can’t afford any delays given our tight schedule,” Michael replied, understanding the critical nature of their upcoming commitments. CHeCk for new stories on no/v/el/bin(.)c0m

”That’s very proactive of you, Michael. Keep me posted on when you receive it, and we can start planning the trips in more detail,” Bridget said, clearly pleased with Michael’s swift action on the matter.

”Will do, Bridget. Though I have some questions.” ”What is it?” ”Are you free tomorrow?” Michael asked.

Bridget paused for a moment before responding, ”Yes, I believe I have some time in the afternoon. What did you have in mind?”

”This is quite the ride you have here, Michael,” she commented. Michael smiled, a hint of pride in his voice as he replied, ”Thanks.”

The drive to Intramuros was smooth, with light traffic making their journey quicker than expected. Michael and Bridget engaged in casual conversation along the way, discussing everything from their favorite foods to memorable travel experiences. The ease of their dialogue made the time pass quickly, and before they knew it, they had arrived at their destination.

Michael found a convenient parking spot near the entrance to Intramuros. As they stepped out of the vehicle, the historic beauty of the walled city greeted them.

They began their exploration of Intramuros, walking side by side along the cobblestone streets. Michael took the lead, sharing tidbits of history about the various landmarks they passed. Bridget listened intently, her interest in Philippine history growing with each story Michael shared. Of course, Bridget’s caucasian appearance as German attracted attention, but it was her elegance and the way she carried herself that turned heads. People passing by would occasionally glance, some with curiosity, others with admiration. Bridget, however, seemed unfazed by the attention, her focus primarily on Michael’s stories.

Michael noticed the looks but chose to concentrate on making the evening memorable for Bridget. He pointed out the Manila Cathedral, explaining its architectural significance and the role it played in Philippine history. Bridget, fascinated, asked thoughtful questions that showed her genuine interest.

As they moved towards Fort Santiago, Michael shared tales of the fortress’s past, its strategic importance, and the stories of bravery and tragedy within its walls.

Walking through the fort’s grounds, they reached a point where they could see the Pasig River, where there were a lot of couples.

And it was that place where Michael mustered his courage. ”Bridget, I have something to tell you.” ”Hmm? What is it?” Bridget faced him.

”Look, Bridget. There is a reason why I invited you over the date. And I’m not like other guys who will hide their feelings simply because they are scared of rejection. I like you, Bridget. I really do. And I want to pursue you, see where this thing between us could go,” Michael confessed, his gaze steady on Bridget.

There was a moment of silence as Bridget processed his words, her expression unreadable at first. Then, slowly, a smile crept across her face, a softness touching her eyes that Michael hadn’t seen before.

”Then you know what to do,” Bridget said. ”You have to approach me seriously, win my parent’s approval, and then I’ll be yours.”

”No problem.”
