Rebirth: Starting with 10 Billion Us Dollars

69: Chapter 69 Another $5 billion comes inTime flows like water.

Soon, October 28th arrived.

Wall Street began to exert its full force.

Anonymous officials began leaking information one after another, and investment bank research reports were overwhelming. The entire internet spoke with one voice:

The Federal Reserve will definitely taper QE in October!

Gold prices were forcibly smashed through the $1,300 mark. A large bearish candle on the K-line chart crashed to the bottom, and panic reached its peak.

US stock futures dove simultaneously, as if a financial crisis could return at any moment.

In the options market, Wall Street bought large amounts of put options, enticing major global players to follow suit and enter the market to short.

Inside a private Wall Street trading hall.

Tom stared at the flickering screen:

”Excellent! Global short positions have exceeded 20 billion! Chen Mo’s funds should have entered the market as well!”

A Goldman Sachs trader reported in a low voice:

”Sir, short positions in gold and US stock futures are concentrated. As soon as the interest rate decision is released, they will all be liquidated!”

”Hmm, this time we won’t just eat up those retail investors; we’ll also swallow the 3 billion Chen Mo took before in one gulp!”

A Goldman Sachs representative added from the side:

”Tom, don’t forget our backup plan. We need to set up long positions in advance. When Chen Mo and the others get liquidated while shorting, our long positions can profit from the momentum. It screws Chen Mo and makes us money—killing two birds with one stone!”

Tom nodded with a smile:

”Don’t worry, I’ve got it under control! While the retail investors and Chen Mo are shorting, we’ll openly shout ’short’ with them while secretly going long. When the interest rate decision comes out and they get liquidated, we’ll close our positions with the trend. It’s a guaranteed profit!”

The Soros Fund representative said:

”Exactly. No matter how smart Chen Mo is, he won’t expect us to play this hand. He’ll definitely follow along and short. When he loses everything, we’ll reap the rewards and leave that Eastern Demon, Chen Mo, in a miserable state!”

Everyone nodded in agreement.

All the capital entities involved in the Wall Street layout thought victory was already in their grasp.

Meanwhile, in another location.

In the top-floor trading room of Tianxing Technology.

Li Yue stood by, watching the market on the screen. Even with her Master’s in Finance, seeing the current situation made her heart race:

”President Chen, everyone is shorting right now. Are we really going to go all-in on long positions?”

Chen Mo sat on a sofa not far from the large screen:

”The American government just shut down in early October and the economy is so weak. Would the Federal Reserve dare to taper QE in October?”

Li Yue was stunned:

”Then... why are the market rumors so aggressive...”

”It’s all fake.”

Chen Mo said calmly.

”The Federal Reserve will taper QE, but it definitely won’t be in October.

The current crash is just Wall Street smashing the market to lure in shorts; it’s just a ’free money’ setup.”

Li Yue gasped.

Wall Street was planning to screw over investors worldwide!

Chen Mo watched the large screen for a moment and then said:

”Zhao Yuan, execute the plan.

1 billion USD principal, 40x leverage spread across 48 accounts.

Go long on comex gold futures, go long on S&P 500 index futures, go long on Nasdaq futures, paired with out-of-the-money call options.”

Zhao Yuan immediately responded:

”Understood, President Chen!”

”Control the total position within 40 billion USD!”

”Move out.”

The sound of frantic keyboard typing filled the room.

One long position after another entered the market silently, casting a harvesting net amidst a sea of shorts.

The night of October 30th.

Global financial markets were waiting for news from the Federal Reserve.

The Fed’s FOMC interest rate decision was about to be announced.

In the Wall Street trading room, everyone sat up straight, eyes glued to the screens. Tom sneered:

”Come on, announce that the QE scale remains unchanged and bury all these shorts! Once Chen Mo and the others are liquidated, we’ll immediately close our long positions, take the profit, and leave!”

The Goldman Sachs trader was ready:

”Sir, all long positions are in place. As soon as the market rallies, we can close them at any time!”

The next second.

The voice of the Federal Reserve Chairman spread to every trading terminal in the world:

”By vote, it has been decided to maintain the current scale of QE, with no tapering of bond purchases for now. We will reassess in December.”

As soon as the words were spoken.

The entire market exploded instantly!

Gold surged violently from the 1296 level, skyrocketing 42 dollars in one minute to break through 1338!

S&P 500 futures shot up in a straight line, and the Nasdaq surged in sync, hitting a new all-time high!

All short positions were liquidated across the board!

”Hahaha! It worked! It worked! I did it!”

Tom began to laugh.

”Wait a bit longer, earn a bit more, and then close all long positions. We’re going to make a fortune this time!”

A short while later, Tom ordered all long positions to be closed!

The traders immediately buried their heads in their work, fingers flying across the keyboards.

After the closing was complete, the staff member calculating the earnings shouted:

”S... Sir, this is bad! Something huge has happened!”

”What’s the panic?!”

The smile on Tom’s face vanished instantly, replaced by a frown:

”What went wrong?”

The staff member pointed at the capital flow on the screen:

”While calculating the long position profits, we discovered that Chen Mo didn’t seem to short at all! He placed a massive amount of long positions even earlier than we did, and his positions were much larger than ours, capturing nearly eighty percent of the profit from this surge!”

”What did you say?!”

Tom’s face turned ashen.

”Fuck! Impossible! This is impossible! How could he have known in advance? We acted so discreetly; how did he dare to enter the market even earlier than us?”

The Goldman Sachs representative walked over and, after seeing the capital flow and profit reports clearly, said:

”Damn it! Fuck! It’s really true! Not only did he enter earlier than us, but he also closed his positions much faster. While we were still trying to harvest, his long positions were already being closed. He swept away most of the profits!”

The head of the Soros Fund asked:

”What about us? How much did we make?”

The staff member said:

”We... our long positions didn’t have that much liquidity to take. After subtracting the losses from the lure-shorting and being a step slower in closing positions, we only made less than 500 million USD...”

”500 million?!”

Tom slammed his fist onto the keyboard on the desk.

”Fuck! Fuck! We went to all the trouble of smashing the market to lure shorts and set up such a huge trap, only to pave the way for Chen Mo? We worked ourselves to the bone, were about to enter the bridal chamber, and the bride ran off with Chen Mo?”

The Goldman Sachs representative was too angry to speak. It took a while before he squeezed out a sentence:

”This Chen Mo, he saw through our trick from the start! He knew we were openly luring shorts while secretly going long. He entered early, harvested before us, and treated us as his tools for making money!”

Tom’s fury had nowhere to go, and he roared:

”We united so much capital, yet we were played like fools by him? This is an absolute humiliation!”

The head of the Soros Fund said weakly:

”And we bore all the costs and took all the blame. This Eastern Demon is too hateful!”

The hunting trap they meticulously planned had turned into a joke. They had become Chen Mo’s stepping stones. Although they didn’t lose money, they only made a fraction of what he did, which felt like a loss to them.

Meanwhile, in the trading room on the top floor of the Tianxing Technology Building.

The profit figure on the screen stopped steadily at 4.98 billion USD.

Li Yue, experiencing this for the first time, could hardly believe her eyes:

”President Chen... we... we really made nearly 5 billion USD?!”

Zhao Yuan, on the other hand, was quite calm, having experienced this more than once:

”Yes, it’s absolutely true! Net profit of 4.98 billion USD, just about 5 billion! When we were closing positions just now, I noticed that those Wall Street capital groups were also going long. But they entered later than us, closed slower, and had lighter positions. They probably only made a fraction of what we did!”

1 billion in principal, earning 5 billion in one night—this kind of financial miracle was no longer surprising to the team Chen Mo had built!

Chen Mo said calmly:

”Follow up with the fund settlement and cross-border transfers. Don’t let any mistakes happen.”

”Yes! President Chen!”

Zhao Yuan responded.
