The First Legendary Beast Master

Chapter 1520 Ring Leader

The two warriors moved to stand between Karl and the door, while the young man quickly escaped what was likely to turn into a heated argument about crafted items he couldnʼt afford, no matter what his account balance said.

Karl switched the rings that he was enhancing as one was finished to the Immortal Rank.

If he could hold out for a few more minutes, he would have a ring for each of them. However, by then, they were likely to have many more people in on the bidding war.

Perhaps he could get away with just giving them one and claiming poverty?

Tell them that it took days to make more, and they wouldnʼt have any way to prove him wrong, as they had no idea how he was making them, or what he was making them out of, as the material changed as he improved them to Immortal Rank.

It was a brilliant plan.

”Now, I need to know where you learned to make Immortal Rank items of the Rare Grade before you reached the later stages of Immortality.” The Elder in the white robes demanded.

”Iʼm a Runecrafter. Surely, there are at least a few in the region, even if the New Home Merchant Clan doesnʼt specialize in crafting?”

The Elder nodded. ”There is one in Condim. An Elder of a local Sect.”

Karl chuckled and the two other Immortals smirked.

”What? Oh, that damnable name. Yes, I get that it sounds like ʼcondom. However, it is the City Founderʼs name, and he is quite sensitive about it. You would do well to remember that.”

”Got it, my apologies, Elder. Now, I simply must return to my duties.”

The Elder was about to dismiss him, then remembered there was a reason they were talking about this.

”You are a slippery one, arenʼt you. No, youʼre not running away until this is settled. I will explain to Elder Socrate that you were delayed for a valid reason and not slacking at your punishment duties.”

Karl sighed and took out the completed ring.

”Fine, I do have a second ring. You can argue about who gets them, but they take time to make, so I donʼt have any more ready right now.”

”Why would you be reluctant to sell such valuable items when youʼre short on clan credits?” The Elder asked.

”Iʼm not short on credits, though. I just sold the one you were arguing about, and my wife hasnʼt even spent ten credits on her first Immortal World shopping spree.”

The others in the room laughed quietly at his description. Karl either didnʼt realize that advancement resources existed, or didnʼt understand the benefit of them. If he did, then he would be eager to get as many credits as humanly possible so that he could buy whatever the warehouse had in stock.

Compared to the funding needed for resources, a new wardrobe and a decorated home were nothing.

Karl handed the ring to Min, who shot him an annoyed glare. She was supposed to be off shift, but her replacement was too afraid to enter in the middle of what looked like an imminent fight.

That meant she was stuck here until everyone left, and the Elder was not going to let Karl simply run away when there was a chance of getting good things out of him.

With Min now holding both of the rings, they had enough for two out of three. Technically three of three, but if Min took out the one she claimed, she would have to admit to the Elder that she was skimming the good stuff and not logging it all into the inventory.

That would not end well for her.

It was better that she let Karl take the heat for not having enough rings to keep everyone happy. He was more scrappy sort than she was.

”Well, we have one for the Elder now, if you would care to exchange the credits?” She offered.

The Elder looked between her and Karl, wondering if they were both in on some sort of scam.

”I will take the ring, but I still have questions. For one, how did you make two rings exactly the same? They donʼt even have different stats. The percentages are higher than I would have expected, and theyʼre exactly the same.”

Karl shrugged. ”Just do it right, and you get a predictable result. However, if you want a surprise, I do have a lovely skill known as [Randomize], and [Chaotic Zone] to create a workspace conducive to unexpected outcomes.”

The Elder looked absolutely horrified, while Min looked intrigued, and the other two were simply confused, with no idea what Karl was talking about.

”You canʼt use Randomize to create items.” The Elder insisted.

”Should not use it to create items. Because I most definitely can use it to create items.”

The Elder sighed. ”Oh, youʼre that sort.

Fine, you should never use Randomize that way. Do you know what sort of atrocities that spell is capable of?”

”I saw it turn a classless soldier into an adorable Worgen girl with the Rogue

class.”

The four Immortals all made warding gestures, protecting themselves from bad luck, as a deep voice seemed to fill the room with laughter.

”We are too close to the Godsʼ Home Realm to joke about things like that.”

”Oh, I wasnʼt joking. It was much more entertaining than expected. You see, in my home world, the class activates during adolescence. Until then, everyone is just a boring mortal of their species.

But if you use [Randomize] while activating the class, you get a chance at much more than just the basic class options.”

”So, there is a chance at a rare or advanced class, right from the start, if you take the risk of the System changing anything about you?” One of the men

asked.

”Thatʼs about the gist of it. It could change nothing, it could change small things, or it could completely reroll your existence. In theory, it could change a mortal human with no talent into an Immortal Dragon, but there are a few

limits.

As far as I know, the final form has to be System Compatible. It wonʼt turn you into a slime or something. Well, unless itʼs a slime with a system, which could

be cool.”

”Too dangerous. If the answers were all cute beast girls, I might risk it.”

”Bruh...”
