Longevity Martial Arts: Grinding Experience in the Chaotic World

Chapter 326: Chapter 184: Dual Cultivation of Alchemy and Martial Arts

The ability to complete the refining on the third attempt already counts as having quite a good talent among the disciples of Spirit Pill Peak.

After solving this sole issue, Gu Sheng proceeded steadily, refining the materials slowly. After another ten minutes, he finally finished refining the Grinding Skin Grass.

Opening the pill cauldron, Gu Sheng placed the refined medicinal powder in front of Lu Junyi and Lou Yu: ”Does this mean I’ve passed the assessment?”

At this moment, smiles were plastered on the faces of Lu Junyi and Lou Yu.

”Of course! From now on, you shall stay on Spirit Pill Peak to learn Alchemy, and strive to complete your promotion as soon as possible! With your talent, if you study diligently, you might become a Dark Level Alchemist like me and the Great Elder in the future.”

Lu Junyi also smiled and spoke to Qin Xue: ”Xiao Xue, go help Gu Sheng complete the formalities later, and explain to him the daily routine of disciples on Spirit Pill Peak.”

After bowing to Lu Junyi, Gu Sheng asked, ”Great Elder, if I join Spirit Pill Peak, can I still go to War God Peak for training?”

Lou Yu frowned slightly upon hearing this: ”The path of Alchemy is time-consuming and labor-intensive. Without a substantial amount of refining experience, no matter how good your talent is, you won’t achieve great success. Human energy is limited. Your talent in Alchemy compares to some elders on my peak; you shouldn’t waste time on Martial Arts! You should understand the principle that you can’t have both fish and bear’s paw.”

Lu Junyi also agreed: ”What Peak Master Lou said is correct. Although your talent in Martial Arts is also excellent, our sect is founded on the Alchemy Dao. We have mature processes and extensive experience in training Alchemists. You should focus all your energy on Alchemy. As for cultivation, you don’t need to worry too much. To refine high-level pills, you also need cultivation to support it. However, our Alchemists focus more on enhancing cultivation rather than spending time studying Martial Arts. Be aware that among the core disciples, anyone who leaves Spirit Pill Peak is at the Marrow Refining Realm!”

Gu Sheng naturally understood the reason behind their words, but he had his own ideas.

Becoming a high-level Alchemist would indeed be beneficial, gaining many followers. However, Gu Sheng disliked pinning his hopes on others and preferred to have strong personal power, to be in charge of his own destiny!

What Lu Junyi said about high cultivation isn’t entirely significant. Most Alchemists’ cultivation might seem high, but when it comes to fighting, they fall short because their strength was often artificially boosted by pills, unable to be fully utilized.

For ordinary people, one can only choose one path, but Gu Sheng has a panel. His cultivation has no shackles; he only needs to train hard. He plans to dual cultivate both Alchemy and Martial Arts!

”Great Elder, in your opinion, which talent of mine is better: Alchemy or Martial Arts?” Gu Sheng asked in return.

Though Gu Sheng’s Alchemy talent is good enough to rival some elders of Spirit Pill Peak, it can’t be said to be top-tier. However, his talent in Martial Arts is different; at the age of seventeen, reaching the Bronze Bone Realm is unheard of in Red Cloud Prefecture! In terms of pure talent, Gu Sheng is undoubtedly stronger in Martial Arts!

Lu Junyi only speculated Ge Qing’s intentions, which was why he wanted Gu Sheng to cultivate in Alchemy.

Faced with Lu Junyi’s silence, Gu Sheng smiled and said, ”Great Elder, I don’t want to waste my talent in Martial Arts, so I want to dual cultivate both Alchemy and Martial Arts.”

Lou Yu heard this and frowned, looking at Lu Junyi.

According to the rules of the Holy Pill Sect, any disciple with Alchemy talent should prioritize staying on Holy Pill Peak for Alchemy cultivation. However, Gu Sheng is different, and Lu Junyi didn’t dare to forcibly keep him on Spirit Pill Peak.

After a moment of silence, Lu Junyi made a decision: ”Very well! You’re still young; since you have such ambition, do as you wish! But you must remember, whether it’s Alchemy or Martial Arts, you must prioritize one over the other, or in the end, both might yield mediocre results.”

”Xiao Xue, make him two tokens, and conduct the promotion assessments separately in the future.”

After a pause, he continued, ”If you can join War God Peak’s inner sect in two years, I might let Peak Master Wen take you as a disciple and teach you Sword Dao!”

Wen Mingyan’s battle with Wu Gui had elements of play-acting, but his extraordinary swordsmanship left an indelible impression on Gu Sheng’s heart. Becoming Wen Mingyan’s disciple would certainly be beneficial.

Wen Mingyan, as the Peak Master of War God Peak, holds a prestigious position within the Holy Pill Sect. Becoming his disciple would eliminate future concerns about the Guiding Method!

Gu Sheng hurriedly and joyfully thanked Lu Junyi: ”Thank you, Great Elder, for your fulfillment!”

After Gu Sheng and Qin Xue left the Alchemy Hall, Lou Yu immediately questioned Lu Junyi: ”Old Lu! How can you break the rules? Since he has a talent for Alchemy, he should stay on my Spirit Pill Peak! You’re well aware of how great the shackles are in Martial Arts. He may seem top-tier in talent now, but whether he can break through to Marrow Refining Realm in the future is unknown. Aren’t there enough examples of this?”

Lu Junyi, hearing this, could only shrug helplessly and sigh with regret: ”Ah! Rules are dead, but people are alive. This little guy is different from ordinary people; we can’t forcibly tie him to Spirit Pill Peak.”

Lou Yu, upon hearing this, was suddenly filled with curiosity: ”Isn’t he just someone from a small place? What’s different?”

Lou Yu’s Alchemy rank matches that of Lu Junyi, and Lu Junyi wasn’t planning to keep the Bone Marrow Building Pill prescription a secret from Lou Yu.

”Look at this.” Lu Junyi handed over the Bone Marrow Building Pill prescription to Lou Yu.
