Chapter 365

Compared to the issue of supernova explosions, the countless streaks of light displayed on the holographic projection screen are the real killers.

Each streak of light was capable of destroying a star.

Even the smaller rays could penetrate planets like Earth.

This means, we don’t even have to wait for the core energy stream to arrive.

These external rays and the aftermath of the supernova explosion were enough to destroy everything.

After reviewing the data, Tang Rui’s expression remained calm.

It’s like whether you’re killed by a bullet or a nuclear bomb, there’s no difference.

The end result is the same.

The data collected so far pretty much confirms that the information provided by the aliens is accurate.

The Milky Way was indeed doomed.

“Red Lotus, take the reconnaissance ship home,” Tang Rui said, then turned off the holographic simulation.

He opened the contacts page, clicked on the number of a big shot at the National Academy, and made a call.

“Professor Tang, hello, what’s the matter?”

“There’s bad news and good news.”

“What’s the bad news?”

“The central black hole of the Milky Way has exploded due to a scientific experiment by aliens, leading to tampering with the internal spacetime structure and energy information burst, blowing up the whole black hole and threatening the entire galaxy.”

“And the good news?”

“We have over two hundred years to prepare, the external high-energy rays from the explosion will take 300 years to reach Earth.”

After listening, the big shot from the National Academy was speechless.

Was that supposed to be good news?

Well, being able to know this news in advance was good news.

But this message is too frightening.

The Milky Way was doomed.

What should they do?

“Okay, I’ve got the message, I’ll contact you later, I need to report this to the higher-ups.”

“Alright.”

Hanging up the call, Tang Rui leaned back in his chair, quietly staring at the ceiling, lost in thought.

Half an hour passed like this.

Red Lotus appeared.

“Master, there’s a signal for a video conference, ready to connect.”

“Bring it through.”

“Okay.”

The scenery instantly changed to a conference room.

In the conference room, besides several Professors from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, there were also several decision-makers.

“Professor Tang, please repeat the information you provided earlier,” said the big shot from the National Academy.

“Alright, here’s the situation…”

Tang Rui briefly recounted his contact with aliens, the information obtained from them, and his personal investigation, as well as the current situation of the Milky Way to the Professors.

After hearing his report, the room fell silent.

This news was too terrifying.

Their heads were buzzing after listening.

“Alright, now that we understand the situation, facing such a cosmic-level disaster, humanity cannot stay on Earth. Do you have any plans, Professor Tang?”

The big shot looked at Tang Rui, inquiring about his thoughts.

“Red Lotus, take control of the conference room data.”

“Okay, Master.”

After instructing Red Lotus to control the conference room’s data, Tang Rui raised his hand to display a projection of the Milky Way.

“The entire Milky Way will be destroyed, and even the Andromeda Galaxy, 2 million light-years away from the Milky Way, is not very safe.

If we want to safely avoid this disaster, we need to escape to a distance of at least 10 million light-years.”

He paused for a moment.

10 million is not a large number, but it becomes significant when followed by “light-years.”

The others in the room were filled with confusion.

A year ago, moon landings were challenging.

Then, you told me we needed to flee the Milky Way?

That was a huge leap.

“My idea is to head directly to the Virgo Cluster, the core of the supercluster, which should be relatively prosperous.”

“Professor Tang, setting aside other issues, how do we get there?”

“There are many ways to get there: by spaceship, with a fleet, or even taking Earth with us.

None of these are problems; as long as you want, there are ways to solve them, it depends on what everyone thinks,” Tang Rui said nonchalantly.

At this point, there was no need for pretense, just lay out the situation.

As long as there were enough resources, he could even take Earth with him, so getting to the Virgo Cluster was not a problem at all.

“Thank you, Professor Tang, we’ll need to discuss the specific plan,” the decision-maker said with a smile.

“No problem, we have more than two hundred years, no need to rush,” Tang Rui truly wasn’t in a hurry.

What did two hundred years mean?

From the technological explosion to now, it’d only been a bit over two hundred years.

Such a long time was enough for several generations to thrive.

After ending the communication, Tang Rui left the command hall and went to the plaza in front of the company building for a leisurely stroll.

“Tang, are you busy right now? The American subsidiary has…”

“Just handle the company matters yourselves, no need to ask me,” Tang Rui dismissed his subordinate.

One minute ago, he was discussing saving the world with a bunch of big shots.

One minute later, he’s supposed to deal with these trivial company issues, which seemed like a joke to him.

He has no interest in managing the company’s affairs anymore.

After experiencing the cosmos, Earth’s petty issues felt like child’s play, utterly uninteresting and immature.

So, Tang Rui waved his hand, disinterested in the company’s affairs.

He was even considering leaving Earth.

Of course, even if he decided to leave, it wouldn’t be right now, at least not until this crisis was over.

Otherwise, if he left now, humanity would be doomed.

With the current pace of human technological development,

Reaching the level of interstellar travel within 200 years is utterly fanciful.

That evening, Li Shuyao came home from work and found Tang Rui lying on the sofa, staring blankly at the ceiling.

“What’s wrong? Are you not feeling well?” Li Shuyao approached the sofa, asking with concern.

“It’s nothing, I’m just thinking about something,” Tang Rui said casually.

“What are you thinking about?”

“I’m considering what to leave behind for humanity: a two-dimensional foil or a neutron star warship.”

Leaving something behind for humanity?

What, are you ascending to immortality and preparing your affairs?

Feeling Li Shuyao’s puzzled gaze, Tang Rui sat up from the sofa and pulled her into his arms.

“I’m just considering the future. In a few years, I’ll take you on a trip through the universe.”

“Just the two of us?”

“Uh… and Red Lotus.”

“Okay, as long as you’re happy..’
