Earth's Greatest Magus

Emery decided the best course of action was to reveal the mystery of the patriarch’s voice. His first instinct was to speak with the Ouroboros Queen, but her current beast transformation made discussion difficult. Instead, Emery chose to approach the viceroy.

The viceroy, still hovering in mid-air and directing the grand magus forces, was not amused by Emery’s interruption. “Huh! Why would the patriarch speak to you?”

Even though Emery spoke the truth, the viceroy dismissed his words, believing the primal transformation had clouded Emery’s mind. His stern expression conveyed his lack of belief and his frustration at what he considered a distraction. “Retreat, and stay out of the way!” he commanded.

At that tense moment, King Severus the Wise approached them. “Viceroy, I think it’s worth a try.”

With the complete annihilation of Faulen City at stake, the viceroy was willing to let Severus explore Emery’s situation. The urgency of the situation was palpable, and Emery allowed the 5th-level spirit master to probe his mind. Severus sifted through the patriarch’s words and the secrets Emery had discovered within the labs.

Quickly, Severus deduced that Emery’s daughter was a crucial element in the nightmare hydra’s rampage. He theorized that the patriarch was using the girl’s bloodline link to Emery as a medium for communication.

The man suggested a daring solution: to reinforce Emery’s spirit power, making a stronger connection with the patriarch. This might allow the patriarch to regain control of his body from the mysterious grand magus.

“However, we need to break the crystal once again. The bigger the crack, the better!” Severus declared.

The viceroy, recognizing the potential to turn the tide, decisively accepted the plan. “We go all in,” he ordered, rallying the grand magus.

As the battle reached its zenith, a haunting melody resonated through the chaos, played by the Emerald Elder. Its soothing notes served as a rallying cry for the weary grand magus, reigniting their resolve for one final, desperate push against the ten-headed hydra.

Amidst the carnage, the three faction leaders unleashed their beast transformations in unison. The Ouroboros Queen, the Targaryan King, and the Giant Monarch, towering and relentless, brought each of their high-grade skills. With their combined might, they closed in on the hydra from three sides.

Meanwhile, the viceroy prepared for a devastating strike unlike any before. Drawing the raw power of lightning into himself, he augmented his body with its potent energy, channeling it to create a manifestation [True Lightning Body].

Above, the sky responded with fury as bolts of lightning gathered and converged around him, swirling in a dazzling display of celestial power.

The lightning coalesced into a towering, two-headed serpent crackling with deadly intent, an embodiment of elemental wrath poised to strike. With the transformation complete, the viceroy surged forward with unparalleled speed, the lightning serpent trailing behind him like a guardian of celestial justice.

He smashed through anything in his path, the sheer force of his charge causing shockwaves that reverberated through the battlefield. The hydra, sensing the imminent danger, thrashed wildly to defend itself. But the viceroy’s lightning serpent was swift and relentless, striking with pinpoint accuracy toward the crimson crystal atop one of the hydra’s heads.

BAMMM!!!

The impact was thunderous, a cataclysmic collision that successfully created massive damage to the crystal.

“Let’s begin!” King Severus’ immense spirit energy surged into Emery’s body, enveloping him in a trance-like state. Emery focused this newfound mental power on the crimson crystal, concentrating intensely to amplify its crack.

Emery felt a strange presence welcoming him inside; delving him into the spirit realm, an ethereal landscape unfolding before him—a cold, dark cavern with myriad tunnels stretching into darkness.

He navigated through the labyrinthine tunnels until he finally arrived at the center, where nine intersections meet, and found a familiar girl lying motionless on the floor.

“Shinta!” he called out desperately, his voice echoing through the eerie silence of the spirit realm. Yet, there was no response.

Suddenly, a ghastly figure materialized before Emery, its presence chilling the air around him. “You again!! What a pest!!” the figure sneered, its voice echoing with malevolence. Emery recognized this sinister entity as the mysterious grand magus.

“You are not welcome here! Die!!” the grand magus’s voice boomed.

With a command from the grand magus, Emery found himself surrounded by nine pairs of eyes, each gleaming malevolently from the shadows of each tunnel. A surge of malevolent energy crashed over Emery like a tidal wave, shattering his mental defenses like fragile glass. The three-story pagoda crumbled under the weight of the grand magus’s relentless assault, sending excruciating pain coursing through his entire being.

For a fleeting moment, Emery teetered on the brink of unconsciousness, but the sight of the helpless girl lying before him infused him with renewed determination.

“I am not giving up!! NO!” Emery’s voice thundered through the spirit realm, his words a defiant challenge to the dark forces arrayed against him. He resisted the overwhelming darkness threatening to engulf him, drawing strength from his unyielding resolve to protect Shinta at all costs.

With his [Prism of Light] skill activated, Emery felt a gentle breeze of energy from within and afterward externally from the Severus King, both caressed his weary spirit, slowly revitalizing him and granting him the strength to confront each serpent one by one in the treacherous labyrinth of the spirit realm.

Time seemed distorted within this ethereal domain, where each battle against the malevolent entities felt like an endless struggle spanning hours. Yet, with unwavering determination, he pressed forward, refusing to succumb to despair or fatigue.

As Emery vanquished the last serpent, the ghastly figure screamed in disbelief, unable to accept such a fate. Emery had won the spirit battle, but it left him deeply exhausted, both physically and mentally drained.

When he staggered back into consciousness, the sight that greeted his weary eyes was the crimson crystal fragmenting into shards, revealing the unconscious form of Shinta within. Emery’s heart clenched with both anguish and hope. “Save her,” he managed to whisper, his voice barely audible over the ongoing chaos that echoed in his ear

Before he shut his eyes against the overwhelming fatigue, Emery witnessed the Ouroboros Queen, swiftly take the unconscious girl into her embrace. ####

The godly battle between the hydra and the remaining grand magus continued unabated. With the crystal shattered, the beast reverted to its nine-headed form, significantly weakened and losing its former strength with each passing moment. Another hour dragged on, fraught with intense clashes and powerful spells, until finally, the godly beast succumbed to its injuries and fell.
