Struggling to Survive with Regression Power in the Primordial Saint Sect

Chapter 487: Gotta Do Big Things! Big Things, I Say!

The contract floated before Chong Guang, black ink on white paper.

With a sweep of his divine sense, Chong Guang immediately furrowed his brows: “You can assist me in Seeking Golden Fruition, but you require me to sign a contract to guarantee I won’t reveal the method of your assistance.”

Besides that, there were many other clauses.

Chong Guang understood at once — the true purpose of this contract was to ensure he would not leak the other party’s information. There were no other major restrictions.

“.Very well.”

The next second, Chong Guang decisively pressed down with his divine sense.

In an instant, he felt the contract generate a subtle pull, linking him with some immense entity in the unseen depths.

‘Fruition Position.’

Chong Guang was somewhat shocked. Using a Fruition Position as the witness of a contract granted it maximal binding force — even a True Lord couldn’t break it.

But the very next moment, he had no time to dwell on such trifles, for as the contract was signed, the intelligence Lu Yang had long prepared surged into his Sea of Consciousness like a tidal wave — prominently including the False Golden Fruition Method of the 【Yama Palace】 and the specific uses of the Golden Nature of Great Fortune.

‘.So it could be used like this!?’

Only after digesting all the information did Chong Guang abruptly raise his head, staring straight at Lu Yang, shock and turbulence raging beneath his composed expression.

Immediately after, he respectfully cupped his hands:

“Senior’s methods are impressive.”

A False True Lord was still a True Lord.

In the Holy Sect, capability always took precedence. Before Lu Yang could even speak, Chong Guang had already naturally switched his address from “Daoist Friend” to “Senior.”

Lu Yang’s method was simple: as long as he first false-held【Overturning Lamp Fire】and then reversed the Chen-Earth, when Chong Guang sought the golden fruition, there would be no issues.

However, all of this hinged on Ancestor Ting You attaining【Boundless Heaven】. With all True Lords in seclusion recently and【Ang Xiao】trapped in the Underworld both before and after, unable to intervene — only under these conditions would Chong Guang be safe. Otherwise, the moment he attained【Overturning Lamp Fire】could also be his death day.

Moreover, it would merely be a delay.

Even if【Boundless Heaven】could theoretically stall things for sixty years, at most thirty years later,【Ang Xiao】would forcibly descend at the cost of burning his Cave Heaven.

‘Still… thirty years is enough.’

More importantly, by proposing this method, Uncle-Master Chong Guang would now stand in the same camp as him — a tremendous advantage.

‘My roots in the Dao Court are still too shallow.’

‘Don’t be fooled by the rapid promotions and recent anti-corruption purges that executed many officials — all of it was built upon Emperor Jiayou’s tacit approval.’

Once Emperor Jiayou was gone, all of it would vanish like smoke.

By then, even if the entire Imperial City Department was under his control, even with the boost from the Xianghuo Shendao, the sheer weight of the Dao Court would still crush him with ease.

While he could also false-hold as a True Lord and go on a killing spree, slaughter wouldn’t solve the issue — nor would it align with the imagery of【Heavenly Fire Above】. Besides, false-holding True Lordhood came with time and usage limits; once the time expired, the harsher his killings, the stronger the backlash.

So Lu Yang preferred another approach — bringing in external reinforcements.

‘The overseas Dragon Clan are my natural allies. If I also gain Uncle-Master Chong Guang’s support, I can have them march into Jiangdong and help me seize control of the Dao Court.’

With Uncle-Master Chong Guangʼs help…

In the future, when he carried out the law ritual for【Ruling the World as Prime Minister】, Jiangbei would be effectively under his control — wherever the righteous army marched, the people would surely welcome them with open arms.

“This… isn’t bad either!”

After all, with the Holy Sect as an external ally, Jiangnan and Jiangxi would also be easier to conquer.

Lu Yang’s mind turned rapidly. If everything went smoothly — if he attained golden fruition, Suohuan did the same, Chong Guang too, Ting You likewise, and added to that an external True Lord from the heterodox path【Seven Luminaries Heaven】—

He would then have five True Lords at his command!

Without Nascent Soul Dao Lords in the picture and ignoring differences in Golden Core combat strength, this force could go toe-to-toe with any faction in the world!

‘And if Uncle-Master Chong Guang attained golden fruition and fulfilled【Overturning Lamp Fire】, then True Lord Qingcheng Feixue’s path would open as well. Should she break through to late-stage Golden Core, and【Ang Xiao】’s path be cut off — with one rising and the other falling, she could bear the pressure from【Ang Xiao】in my place.’

‘In that case, the Holy Sect would surely profit.’

‘On the other hand, if I attain【Heavenly Fire Above】and bring a new Supreme Fruition into the Dao Court, the Dao Court’s Lord would only be pleased, not obstructive.’

Aside from【Ang Xiao】, everyone would benefit.

“How about it?”

Lu Yang looked to Chong Guang and extended his hand: “Daoist Friend, in this era, if you want to Seek Golden Fruition, you’ve got to do big things — big things, I say!”

As the words fell, Lu Yang grinned wide.

Hearing this, Chong Guang solemnly looked at him, then smiled as well: “One last question — may I ask which senior of the Holy Sect Daoist Friend actually is?”

As soon as he spoke, Lu Yang’s face darkened: “I have nothing to do with the Demonic Sect.”

Chong Guang nodded in understanding — “Ah, cutting ties, I see!”

He was aware of the ritual requirements for【Heavenly Fire Above】, so he could see through Lu Yang’s intentions. Besides, such mutually beneficial cooperation was more trustworthy.

“.Deal!”

The next instant, the two clasped hands tightly.

Jiangbei, Sky-Reaching Cloud Sea.

The light of Chong Guang’s escape technique descended into the heart of the cloud sea, landing in the grand hall of Sacred Fire Cliff, where a poised and graceful woman sat upon a meditation cushion.

Her nearly flawless jade-like face was, at this moment, covered in fine cracks. Each fissure shimmered with golden light, which traced glowing fractures across the floor — remnants of the sword intent and aura left by the【True Lord of Rigid Form Dao-Preaching】from the Sword Pavilion.

Yet despite this, no pain could be seen on her face.

“Mmhm~”

——If anything, she seemed to enjoy it.

Intense pain only ignited her fighting spirit, exhilarating her further. Violent collisions of blood and sweat were what she most craved.

But the next second, as Chong Guang stepped into the hall, her twisted expression instantly reverted to one of stately beauty, as though she’d never worn any other look.

“.You’re back?”

True Lord Qingcheng Feixue spoke coolly.

“I’m back.”

Chong Guang cupped his hands. “Many thanks, True Lord, for covering my karmic traces and letting everyone believe I was Seeking Golden Fruition. Otherwise, this trip would surely have been discovered.”

“No matter.”

True Lord Qingcheng Feixue waved her hand, her beautiful eyes locking onto Chong Guang, her voice devoid of emotion: “Is there still hope?”

“There is, somewhat.”

“Then that’s fine.”

Retracting her gaze, she rose with a wave of her sleeve: “I won’t ask when you plan to Seek Golden Fruition, nor will I care what you do to achieve it. You know I only care about results. As long as you attain【Overturning Lamp Fire】, even if the heavens collapse, it won’t be your job to hold them up.”

“Chong Guang shall bear it in mind… Respectfully seeing off the True Lord.”

Chong Guang bowed deeply, watching as True Lord Qingcheng Feixue vanished from sight. Only then did he straighten, mind flashing back to Lu Yang’s grand plan.

‘To attain【Heavenly Fire Above】… such grand vision, unmatched under heaven.’

‘He cannot be an ordinary Foundation Establishment cultivator — he must be a reincarnated True Lord. But which one? Not Ang Xiao, nor Hong Yun… Then who could it be?’
