All People: I Slay Gods with Martial Arts

38: Chapter 37 The Mysterious TempleThe small hill was only a few hundred meters high.

Ye Xiu could easily flatten it without even using his full strength.

He flew to the mountainside and looked down at the temple shrouded in darkness, a hint of surprise in his eyes.

When he had previously used his Qi sense for a carpet-like search, he hadn’t discovered a temple here.

Just as he was preparing to go in and take a look, he saw Liu Qingyan flying over from a distance.

”Ye Xiu?” she asked, very surprised.

Having sensed the unusual activity here, she was afraid something might be wrong, so she had come specifically to investigate.

She hadn’t expected to see Ye Xiu here.

”What are you here for?” Ye Xiu frowned slightly.

”Why, is this your property?” Liu Qingyan, who had originally intended to turn back, stopped in her tracks upon hearing Ye Xiu’s questioning tone and retorted directly.

”You dead woman, you’re still so annoying.”

Ye Xiu suppressed the urge to slap Liu Qingyan to death. If it weren’t for the Face of them both being classmates, he really would have wanted to slap her to death.

Liu Qingyan ignored Ye Xiu’s ugly expression.

After observing for a while, she pushed on the temple’s main gate.

”It won’t open?”

The wooden gate was incredibly sturdy.

She tried various methods but was shocked to find that no matter whether she pushed or pulled, the gate wouldn’t budge. Even using spiritual power, she couldn’t shake it in the slightest.

Speechless, she shook her head and leapt lightly over the wall.

But a bizarre scene unfolded.

Liu Qingyan’s body, having just flipped over to the other side, actually flipped back out from the other side.

”What’s going on?”

Ye Xiu frowned slightly. Seeing Liu Qingyan try multiple times with the same bizarre result, he didn’t say another word.

He gathered all his strength and slammed a punch into the wooden gate.

Boom.

The terrifying force shattered the gate directly, revealing what was inside.

”So fierce?”

Liu Qingyan looked incredulous. The gate that she hadn’t been able to push open even after using all her spiritual power had actually been smashed down by Ye Xiu with a single punch.

Truly, brute force works miracles.

”Stop talking nonsense.” Ye Xiu couldn’t be bothered to say anything more to this dead woman and walked straight in.

”Benefactor, this is not a place you should come to. Please return.”

In the dim temple, The Old Monk walked over from the inner courtyard.

Ghost race?

Ye Xiu was somewhat cautious. Although the opponent might not be able to withstand even one of his punches, the eeriness here definitely wasn’t something that could be solved just by killing a monk.

”Are you human or a ghost?”

”If one has a human heart, one is naturally human.”

”Since we can communicate, I won’t waste words. I am from the Tianfu City Military Department, here to resolve the source of the eeriness.” Ye Xiu spoke straight to the point.

If the other party didn’t accept it, he would just finish him off.

After hearing this, The Old Monk was silent for a moment before replying: ”Since you are from the Great Xia Military Department, this poor monk cannot stop you. However, Benefactor, the eeriness here has existed since ancient times. If you want to go down, I am afraid it will be extremely dangerous.”

”Bald donkey, just lead the way. We of the Daoist sect will handle the rest.” Liu Qingyan spoke from the side, looking sharp-tongued.

The Old Monk did not get angry. He looked carefully at Liu Qingyan, then revealed an ugly smile: ”I was fortunate enough to sit and discuss the Dao with Master Zhang back in the day, but I didn’t expect to see his disciple today.”

”Tch... don’t try to get close to us. How could my Grandmaster be friends with a ghost?”

Liu Qingyan was convinced that The Old Monk before her was a ghost, so from the moment he appeared, she hadn’t given him a pleasant look.

A ghost is a ghost. There is no distinction between good, bad, right, or wrong.

The Old Monk still did not get angry, but instead said to Ye Xiu: ”Benefactor, follow me. If you look for it yourselves, I fear you won’t be able to find where the entrance is.”

Ye Xiu did not doubt him too much.

The aura of this old monk before him was very similar to the little monk he had seen before.

The two followed behind The Old Monk.

Passing through the inner courtyard and walking past a lake, they finally arrived at an old well pressed down by a huge stone.

The large stone on the old well was covered in Buddhist seals, clearly suppressing something.

As The Old Monk peeled off the seals, he said solemnly: ”Below is the hiding place of that ghost. You two must be careful.”

As the seals were removed one by one, black mist immediately began to overflow from the cracks in the stone.

Upon seeing this, both of them frowned slightly.

”Your strength is too low; wait for me up here.” Ye Xiu looked at the deep cave entrance revealed as the large stone was pushed away, and ordered in a somewhat solemn tone.

”No, I...”

Before Liu Qingyan could finish her sentence, Ye Xiu interrupted directly: ”You’re only at the third rank of Lingkong, are you looking to die by going down there?”

After speaking, his Life Qi erupted, transforming into a cage that directly enclosed The Old Monk.

”This Life Qi cage can last for three hours. Great Master, you won’t mind, will you?”

”Benefactor, rest assured. If you have not come up after three hours, this poor monk will go down to rescue you.”

The Old Monk sat cross-legged on the ground, chanting an unknown Buddhist scripture.

Rescue?

Ye Xiu smiled, not refuting anything.

This Old Monk really seemed like an enlightened high monk.

But regardless, being careful is always the right thing to do.
