Cursed Immortality

Chapter 837  Two Different Worlds…

The Tower of Libra was located in a dark wetland filled with exotic flora and unseen creatures in the sky of Path of the Legend.

Not far away from the tower, a group of clergymen, with white masks covering their faces, rest in a runic formation. Among them were a few silver-haired, faery humans who stood out within the group. They were sitting separated from the clergymen, and behind them were beautiful winged horses resting.

Among the group of faery humans was a gorgeous figure, a woman in white bishop robes and silver manteletta. She was also not wearing any mask like the faery humans, but she was different from them.

Furthermore, this woman was extremely respectful of the faery humans and chatted with them, and those faery humans seemed to treat her well despite their disdain for the rest of the clergymen group.

”Bishop Alice, I heard from Archbishop Otis that you have a rare growth type magic core of light element, very suitable for holy magic. Is that true?” One of the Faery Humans, a male with a handsome appearance, asked the woman named Alice!

Alice was startled by this question and couldnʼt help but curse inwardly, ʼThis wily guy not only didnʼt tell me anything crucial about themselves, but he even wanted to probe my secrets!ʼ

Despite her frustration, she pretended to be innocent and respectfully replied, ”I indeed have a growth-type magic core, and itʼs all the blessing of the Holy Justice God!”

The other faery humansʼ eyes shimmered with astonishment when they heard Alice admit it, and one of them, a woman, exclaimed with a hint of envy, ”No wonder the higher-ups thought highly of you and granted you the rank of Bishop and specifically instructed us to escort you back safely.”

Alice wasnʼt impressed by this superficial flattery since she had seen too many people like this, and she knew these guys secretly held contempt in their hearts for her and her group because they were from the lesser galaxies. She had experienced the same thing in the lesser galaxy of Libra, and as someone who had climbed her way to the top from nothing, she wasnʼt going to be swayed by their praise, even if it was genuine.

”Iʼm just lucky.” Alice humbly smiled before she finally asked the question she had wanted to ask all this time since this group had started to open up to her: ”Please donʼt mind me asking, but you are not humans, right?”

”I donʼt mean to be disrespectful; itʼs just that I have a keen sense towards light elements, and Iʼve been dealing with the humans in the Libra Galaxy for a long time now, so I know what a human feels like, and you all give me different feeling from humans. I wondered if you have evolved in some way. But please donʼt take any offense since Iʼm just curious, and you donʼt have to answer. Forget it, I ever asked.” She was cautious with her questions and made sure not to offend anyone.

The faery humans were surprised by her question, and the male faery human who asked her about her magic core suddenly chuckled before he replied, ”Thereʼs no need to be so respectful to us, and your question is not offensive at all. If anything, Iʼm impressed you can tell the difference.

”You are right. We are not humans, and our race is different from humans. We are Faery Humans. However, according to the annals of history, our origin is from the Arch Justice Human Race and Primal Faery Race.

”Both races are ancient and belonged to one of the top Ancient Races of the Zodiac Plains. Furthermore, your human race is also a branch of the Arch Justice Human Race.

”And it goes without saying that the faery humans are closer to the Arch Justice Human than the Human race because our blood contained more genes of Arch Justice Humans than the Human Race, not to mention the Primal Faery Race bloodline on top of that, while the humans only have the Arch Justice Humansʼ bloodline and only a sliver of it.

”Anyhow, the Cardinal Spirit Temple is the organization founded by Holy Justice God, and according to the Holy Justice Doctrine, the Arch Human Race and Primal Faery Race should be treated equally, and that goes for any branch of both races.

”Thatʼs why the Cardinal Spirit Temple only accepts Arch Human Race and Primal Faery Race members, and if any branch race is found, they will be recruited back in the temple and nurtured with the same effects any branch race of the two races.

”But still, sometimes a genius like you emerges who possesses a certain trait closer to the origin race, and the temple nurtures them with all their might and protects them. Your growth-type light magic core is also a trait of Arch Justice Humans. Thatʼs why the higher-ups have high hopes for you.”

Realization dawned on Alice at this moment as she was both stunned and amazed since it was her first time hearing about her origin, and she didnʼt know the human race had such a background. It all started to make sense to her why she was treated so well despite her tiny background.

ʼIf thatʼs the case, then didnʼt this mean, even in the middle galaxies, Iʼll still be treated as a genius as long as my rank wonʼt fall behind? But these faery humans still seemed quite arrogant despite their talk about equality…ʼ Her eyes shimmered coldly as something came to her mind, and a complicated glint flashed past her eyes. ʼThen what about him? His traits clearly matched the faery humans, and it also explained his overwhelming power in the common plains, but what was he doing there since there shouldnʼt be any faery humans there?

ʼAfter we were all taken to the Lesser Galaxy of Libra, only then did I learn that the common plains I was born in were actually in the Lesser Galaxy of Taurus and the humans in the unique plains who ruled the Lesser Galaxy of Libra have a way to cross the boundary between lesser galaxies from common plains, and theyʼve been gathering humans for all over the lesser galaxies for a long time.

ʼBut only a rare rank can cross the boundary between galaxies, and I was already an epic when I was privy to this information, so I couldnʼt look for him. I wonder where he ended up. Itʼs a pity I wonʼt be able to confront him anymore. We belong to two different worlds…ʼ

ʼRumbleeee…ʼ

Aliceʼs thoughts were suddenly disrupted by a sudden rumbling, and everyone was alert as they all looked towards the Tower of Libra.

But before they could react, under their astounded gazes, the Tower of Libra suddenly vanished, and a silhouette appeared in the empty space.

The faery humans exclaimed with a sense of pride, ”Archbishop really cleared the tower within a day! As expected of the strongest genius of our temple!”

”Heh, those guys who were completing with Archbishop will now have no choice but to accept their defeat!”

Alice was also surprised. Although she didnʼt know much about the towers and their trial, from the way those faery humans were making a fuss, she knew it was a big deal.

ʼIt seemed I have to stick with him for the time being until I have enough power and authority to protect myself…ʼ Aliceʼs eyes shimmered with determination as she quickly straightened up herself and made sure she was presentable.

However, at this moment, the faery human with a stern expression suddenly narrowed his eyes and muttered, ”Why is Archbishop clad in black now?”

Everyone finally noticed this at this moment because that figure was wearing all black, and his head was covered in a long hood. Their expressions suddenly changed when they realized that it wasnʼt Otis, and the next moment before they could react, the dark figure instantly vanished!
