The Alpha's Unwanted Bride

Chapter 746: THE SICK SON

I immediately jumped up to my feet the moment our eyes locked.

My heart began to beat as fast as it could.

I felt a chill down my spine.

The cool breeze now felt too cold for me.

Too much for me to bear.

He was here for me.

I knew it.

Everything was over.

He was going to tell everyone and they were going to execute me and my family.

I breathed hard as I glared at him.

“You.” He sneered at me. “What the hell are you doing here?”

I left Bale’s side.

I didn’t want to wake him up.

“Why are you following me?” I asked in anxiety even though I tried my best to hide it.

I wasn’t usually all flustered, not even when I had been caught red handed making trouble in the pack market.

This was different.

He had caught me healing and one accusation from someone as pompous as he was, would be the end of me.

“Following you?” He snapped.

And then he looked back at the bed towards where Bale lay.

I became protective instantly.

“What are you doing here?” I snapped back at him.

Had he come to report me to Bale, because Bale was the Alpha’s son.

And then I felt a cold feeling wash over me.

It made sense now.

But how cruel could he be.

Surely he knew that Bale was ill but because of his own selfish interests, he didn’t care whether he had healed or not.

He simply wanted to punish.

It made me hate him even more.

His handsome face fell over mine and twisted in arrogance. “Who the hell do you think you are to ask me such a ridiculous question.”

He proceeded to walk towards Bale, but I blocked his path.

The same way he had blocked mine.

He just stood there staring at me.

He looked me up and down as though I were a mere peasant.

“Do you have a death wish?” He said in a voice that made me shake. “Get the fuck out of my sight.”

I refused to move.

I shook my head. “I’m not letting you see him. I know what you want to do. Carry out your threats, take me to be arrested. But you will not interrupt his healing to have me arrested just because he is the Alpha’s son.”

I was breathing heavily now.

We barely had a few inches between us.

It was hard maintaining a straight face and not breaking.

But I held my grounds.

I wasn’t scared of anyone.

And yet here I was, while he made me weak.

And then it seemed like he was looking at me for the first time.

“What are you doing here?” He said. “How did the guards let you in here.”

And then he looked back. “Oh… so you think I….”

And then he looked towards Bale.

“Did someone send you to kill him? Is that what you’re here to do?” He asked rage seeping through him.

I looked at him, my face stern. “How dare you accuse me of such! You are the one who does not belong here! I am sick and tired of you. You’re insane and you’re obsessed.”

“Leave this place.” I warned him as I pointed to the door. “Get THE HELL OUT OF HERE!”

Before anything could happen, a door in the room I hadn’t noticed initially, opened and my mother stepped in.

She had some towels in her hands and she looked confused.

“What’s going on!”

“Mother!” I said hurrying to her side. “I came in and this man was here. He has made the most awful accusations against me…. And… and I think he tried to kill him.”

Mother was dazed.

She stepped from the side of the door blocking her view and then saw him.

Mother gasped immediately and dropped the towels from her hand.

They fell to the floor almost immediately as mother’s head bowed.

“My Lord.” Mother said quickly, her eyes still downcast.

I blinked in confusion.

Was she bowing to Bale?

I felt a sharp pain in my side as her elbow pierced my side.

“Bow Ruby.” Mother whispered sharply.

I was too confused to even understand what was going on.

But I did as I was told nonetheless.

I bowed.

“You may rise.” Came the cold and firm voice of the spoiled brat.

What the hell?!

Mother rose her head slowly.

I had already lifted mine. Lost for words.

I had been right in my judgment.

He must be related to none other than… hence why he went around prancing as though he owned the world.

But mother went up to him and curtseyed. “My Lord I am so sorry. I had no idea it was you.”

He nodded faintly in familiarity as though he knew mother.

“I apologize on the behalf of my daughter if she caused you any distress.” Mother managed as she kept her eyes downcast. “She is also new here. She works with me.”

I was staring at him and I watched his expression change to contempt.

Was this it?

Was he going to spill it all?

Tell mother I had healed a dead bird?

Fought with a relative of the custodian of the pack.

Swam naked and almost killed him while escaping.

At this point being executed by the pack didn’t seem like a bad idea in comparison to what my mother would do to me the moment she found out all of this.

A small soft voice interrupted the space.

I looked behind me and saw Bale was moving in his bed.

The rude boy was already at his side instantly.

I snorted.

For someone who wanted to get me in trouble, he had good way of faking concern.

I watched as he brushed his hand over Bale’s forehead.

“How are you feeling little brother?” He asked.

Brother?!

Little brother?!

My heart stopped immediately.

What the hell was going on?

And then it exploded right in front of me.

The boy I had fought with, injured, and being so outright disrespectful to was none other than the Son of the Pack.

Bale’s elder brother

The future Alpha.

I was FUCKED!
