Esper Harem in the Apocalypse

Chapter 338 Classic Catch

”What the fuck?” Rudy got up from the bed and left Janeʼs room by jumping out of the window.

ʼI am here for four days, and now I can somehow tell what time is right now.ʼ Rudy glanced at the moons and muttered, ”Itʼs around 8PM. I might be wrong, and this could be 4AM in the morning too. But no one came to wake me up, and I donʼt think Jane and Rias would let me sleep when there was a celebration party.”

He flew to the royal hall and landed through the hole in the ceiling, or he wanted to, but there was no hole in the ceiling.

”...”

He decided to go there through the door, only to see it was empty. There werenʼt even decorations that would suggest one of a function.

ʼMaybe the function is not here and somewhere else?ʼ

He rushed out of the hall and searched through the entire palace of the high vampires quarter in the innermost area of the palace, where royals and nobles stayed, but he didnʼt see a single person.

”Whatʼs going on?”

He looked at his hand and slapped himself on the face to confirm he wasnʼt dreaming. And it indeed was a dream.

He woke up in Janeʼs room and glanced around to see Jane was changing her clothes in the wardrobe. Her face was facing the bed, and she didnʼt notice that he had woken up.

Rudy sighed in relief and slowly sat up. He got out of bed and hugged Jane from behind.

”..,!” Jane jolted in surprise and turned around.

”Whatʼs with this reaction?”

”You scared me!” she hissed.

”Why would you be scared? You knew I was sleeping, and we were the only ones in the room.”

”You never know. Rias has woken up, and I canʼt help but feel anxious. She said she forgave me, but she hasnʼt talked to me like she used to before,” Jane muttered with a gloomy face.

”Did you meet her again after I left with her?”

Jane nodded and said, ”I was with her until a few minutes ago. I came here to change clothes for the function.”

”Did she mention anything about us or give any hints?” Rudy asked curiously.

Jane shook her head and began wearing her clothes, but she was having trouble, so Rudy helped her. But he didnʼt miss the opportunity to grope her breasts while helping her.

ʼWhy hasnʼt Rias told her that everything is already sorted out?ʼ Rudy wondered. ʼShe said she would get revenge on her and will do the same thing Jane did to her. Is this part of her plan?

If yes, then I shouldnʼt ruin it, or all of Riasʼ anger will once again shift on me. I will let the sisters fight for me.ʼ

”What about you? Are you not going to get ready for the… wait a minute….” Jane checked Rudyʼs clothes and said, ”You were wearing another pair of clothes in the morning, so how—”

”I think I had already told you that I was going to take a bath.”

”Oh!” Jane exclaimed and nodded in response. ”Right. I forgot about that. I am so stressed out that I…”

”Donʼt worry too much. I know I have already said this many times, but I really mean it. I am not going to leave you behind, no matter what happens. We love each other, and no one can come between us, not even Rias or any girls; just like how you canʼt come between my relationship with them.

When you agreed to join my harem, you accepted me as a whole. You are under my protection whether you need it or not.”

He smiled gently at her and kissed her on the lips before calmly saying with an earnest look on his face: ”You underestimate my love, princess.”

Jane jugged Rudy and muttered, ”I love you, and I canʼt leave without you. I am the third strongest vampire alive, and my only weakness is you.”

”Letʼs go now, shall we?”

”Umm… I need to do my hair. Niti should be on her way right now. So you can leave and spend time with Rias, or she will get suspicious.”

ʼShe already knows that I am in your room, though,ʼ Rudy uttered inwardly.

”Okay.” Rudy fixed his clothes and asked, ”How do I look?”

”Handsome as always.”

”And what about my hair? Last time Niti did them, but I didnʼt get a chance to do any after I took a bath.”

”Hmm~” Jane hummed in amusement after looking at Rudyʼs hair and noticed Nitiʼs hair that she had used as a thread to tie them up.

She raised her brow and pulled Nitiʼs hair.

”Whose hair is this?” she asked with a judging look on her face while showing it to Rudy.

ʼAh shit. I dug my own grave, didnʼt I?ʼ

”Hmm? Whatʼs that? Itʼs probably my hair.”

Rudy gulped down nervously as Jane compared the hair color.

”They donʼt look the same nor feel the same…”

ʼThis was the worst way of getting caught. And ironically, the most classic way too, where the wife sees a long hair on her husbandʼs shirt or suit and gets accused of cheating.ʼ

”Oh, by the way. I just had a weird dream,” Rudy suddenly said.

”Donʼt try to change the topic,” she said with a knowing look on her face.

However, Rudy continued speaking, ”In that dream, I woke up from my sleep and walked around the palace. I went to the royal hall, but it was dark and empty. I searched through the high vampire quarters, and I couldnʼt see a single person.

There was no sign of life around. I was genuinely freaking out, not going to lie. And then I decided to slap myself to see if I was dreaming or not, and it was actually a dream.ʼ

Rudy simply said his dream to Jane to divert the topic, but for some reason, Jane was baffled after hearing that, as though she couldnʼt believe her ears.

”What…?”
