Lord of the Truth

Chapter 1139 1139: Treasure of the Chosen

(...Do the Master Laws also contain Minor Laws?!) Evergreen suddenly shouted, her voice echoing through the grand hall.

Robin let out a quiet chuckle, shaking his head slightly. ”What kind of question is that?” he said with amusement. Then, rubbing his chin thoughtfully, he continued, ”Now that I think about it… Thatʼs a question with no definitive answer. You could argue that the Eye of Truth, the Golden Cloak, and the Truth Bullets are all minor laws derived from The Master Law of Truth. But at the same time, you could also argue that they arenʼt...”

(That doesnʼt make sense! Either they contain minor laws, or they donʼt!) Evergreen furrowed her brows, clearly frustrated.

Robin smiled at her reaction, raising a hand in a placating gesture. ”Alright, alright, let me explain... As we discussed before, after the point of the universeʼs genesis, minor laws began to take form, shaping the many realms and realities we now inhabit. These minor laws follow specific patterns—some align and resonate with each other, while others repel or contradict one another. The laws that share common patterns are classified as single-path laws, and in theory, a grand law can be created to govern all of them as a unified principle, which we call the main law. However, this framework applies only to the fundamental life space and essential paths like fire.”

He paused for a moment, letting the words sink in before he resumed, ”But when it comes to the Master Laws, the entire discussion changes. Those laws arenʼt just concepts that formed after the universe began—they are the very spark from which existence itself was ignited. In a way, they are not part of the universe; they are the reason the universe exists in the first place. Technically speaking, they predate everything. They were already present before time, space, or matter ever came into being. Without them, nothing—absolutely nothing—could have existed. That is precisely why it is impossible to assume they were divided into internal categories at the moment of creation. Unlike the other laws, it would be completely inappropriate to even label them as ʼpathsʼ at all.”

Robin then gestured in front of him several times, as if drawing an invisible diagram in the air. ”Given this absolute truth, the Master Laws must never be measured by the same standards as the fundamental or essential laws. The difference is profound. This is evident in the fact that it is simply impossible for a Truth Chosen to wield only a fragment of the law —such as just the Golden Cloak— or for a Spacetime user to manipulate only a single ability, like freezing dimensions. Thatʼs not how it works. Either you fully comprehend and embody the entire master law, or you wield none of it!”

He then stroked his chin in contemplation before adding, ”Take me, for example. I may only be using a fraction of the spacetime law through my tattoo—a fraction that could technically be considered a minor law of spacetime—but I wouldnʼt have been able to harness it if I hadnʼt first grasped the entirety of spacetime itself. If I were to etch the exact same tattoo onto Caesar or anyone else, it would be completely useless to them. They wouldnʼt be able to channel its power because they lack the deeper understanding that makes it work.”

(...This is making my head hurt, old man.) Evergreen groaned, clutching her head with both hands in exasperation.

Robin let out a hearty laugh at her reaction. ”Hehe, then maybe you shouldnʼt ask such complicated questions.” He turned away and wandered toward another bookshelf, his fingers trailing along the spines of ancient tomes. After a moment, his voice took on a thoughtful, almost dreamy tone. ”...But now that youʼve brought it up, I canʼt help but feel my curiosity reigniting. The Master Laws… They existed before everything else. But how? In what kind of environment could they have existed? Were they always together, or did they merge at some point? And more importantly… What exactly are they, and how many of them truly exist? As of now, Iʼm certain of only two—Truth and Spacetime. But…”

His voice lowered as he narrowed his eyes. ”I have some suspicions about a third one.”

(A third?! You have information about a third Master Law? What is it?!) Evergreen gasped, her excitement and awe flaring up all at once.

”Hmm... I wonʼt tell you just yet. Iʼm afraid that if Iʼm wrong, Iʼll end up looking like a fool. Iʼd rather investigate the matter further before making any claims…”

Shff Shff

Robin continued flipping through the pages of the small, worn-out booklet for a few seconds, his eyes scanning the words intently. Then, after a moment of silence, he muttered, ”…If Iʼm not mistaken, this booklet contains a law that has something to do with emotions. I believe itʼs... tension?” He furrowed his brows slightly before placing the book back on the shelf and pulling out another one. Without hesitation, he flipped it open and began skimming through its contents.

”…This one also appears to be an emotion law,” he mused aloud. ”Itʼs either anger or resentment… I canʼt say for sure. Iʼve never really delved into this particular category of laws before.”

After a brief pause, he tilted his head back and gazed at the towering bookshelves that stretched all the way to the ceiling of the vast cavern. A look of realization flickered across his face.

”Wait… are all these books here about emotional laws?!”

(Thatʼs… strange. What exactly was the Second Truth Chosen thinking?) Evergreen was equally surprised, her gaze sweeping across the endless shelves filled with ancient tomes. (To think… one moment youʼre talking about the Third Master Law, while the other is writing about something as bizarre as the Law of Tension and the Law of Petrified Dung. The contrast is just too jarring.)

”This isnʼt about one approach being superior to the other,” Robin replied as he closed the book and placed it back on the shelf. ”Itʼs simply a matter of personal choice—my choice and his. I chose to focus on depth, while he chose to focus on breadth. Thatʼs all there is to it. And besides… these so-called ʼinsignificantʼ laws that the Second Truth Chosen has gathered arenʼt useless at all. In fact, once theyʼre handed over to the research and development division, the empire will experience a level of progress never seen before.”

He stroked his chin in contemplation before continuing, his tone growing more confident.

”For example, if someone were to utilize the minor Law of Urasilium, theyʼd be able to detect its presence in mountains and beneath the ocean floor far more efficiently than any conventional mining method. Not only that, but theyʼd also be able to refine and shape it with greater precision than even divine blacksmiths. And if they were to master its applications, they might even be able to extract the very essence of the metal itself, allowing them to forge mid-tier epic-grade weapons and armor!”

His words carried an undeniable weight, and as he spoke, Evergreen found herself subconsciously nodding in agreement.

”But thatʼs not all,” Robin continued, his voice brimming with enthusiasm. ”Those minor laws that provide insights into the composition of the earthʼs crust? They could be used to uncover vast deposits of valuable minerals—minerals that are on par with Urasilium itself! They could also play a crucial role in predicting earthquakes and other natural disasters, preventing countless tragedies before they even occur. And letʼs not forget the minor laws tied to earth. If applied correctly, they could revolutionize agriculture—enhancing crop yields, accelerating plant growth, and even creating entirely new hybrid crops suited for species like the demons. With the right application, these laws could be used to carve out artificial lakes and waterways, ensuring that every household within the empire has access to clean, abundant water. I mean, think about it—these laws arenʼt just valuable; theyʼre literally priceless!”

He paused briefly before adding, ”And if someone were to master the minor Law of Anger, they could manipulate the emotions of their allies on the battlefield, fueling their rage and pushing them to fight with unparalleled ferocity. Meanwhile, another individual could wield the minor Law of Fear, instilling a deep, paralyzing terror in the hearts of their enemies. Now imagine how devastating such abilities would be in large-scale warfare. Especially if the one wielding them had reached the level of an Emperor!”

(I get what youʼre saying… but honestly, who would even want to dedicate themselves to such trivial laws and push them all the way to the Emperor rank?) Evergreen let out a lighthearted chuckle, picturing an imposing Martial Emperor—one whose primary expertise lay in detecting trace amounts of metal in the soil and hybridizing different plant species! The thought alone was amusing.

”Youʼre making a fundamental mistake by assuming that everyone seeks glory, war, and spoils of battle,” Robin countered with a knowing smile. ”In reality, if you were to take a random group of ten men, youʼd be lucky to find one or two among them who genuinely desire to gamble with life and death on the battlefield of their own volition. The rest? They simply want to live a peaceful life—one where they can provide for their families, accumulate wealth, and enjoy their days without a single worry. And from the looks of it, the Second Truth Chosen is offering them exactly that.”

With an amused expression, he picked up another book and flipped through its pages.

”…And these arenʼt just keys to unlocking certain abilities,” he added, his tone more serious. ”Theyʼre complete foundational patterns—the very blueprints for the first stage of all these laws. Once I teach the research teams how to read these patterns and transcribe them into practical techniques, every single book in this collection will become a law accessible to the general public. But even better—once we have a fully developed first-stage technique, the research and development teams will be able to study and expand upon the second and third stages entirely on their own, without needing my direct assistance. I mean, itʼs not like every planet has a Truth Chosen willing to hand out law patterns on a silver platter!”

A small smirk tugged at the corner of Robinʼs lips as he placed the books back in their respective places, leaving the section behind entirely. With a slow, measured pace, he made his way toward the second wall of the cavern.

”According to the statistics Emily gathered,” he said, his tone thoughtful, ”there are a significant number of people who reach the rank of Knight, only to stop their training and return to farming, trade, or craftsmanship. But if they had access to laws like these… they wouldnʼt stop. Theyʼd continue refining their skills, pushing further than they ever thought possible. As a result, every aspect of my empire would flourish, and in turn, this would allow my planetʼs spirits to absorb even more energy from the Primordial Chaos. If I remember correctly, that should be beneficial to you, right? In the end, itʼs a win-win for everyone.”
