Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

Chapter 109: Retribution Comes to Those Who Wait!

【Fearless Journey Has Run into Trouble Yet Again!】

【Fearless Journey Capsizes, Two Guests Nearly Drowned at Sea!】

【Is it Fearless Journey or Reckless Journey? A Recap of All the Accidents on Fearless Journey Over the Years.】

Back when the several guests from the program crew capsized, these news stories had already begun spreading online. However, as usual, although such news spreads quickly, it gets suppressed just as fast. In the blink of an eye, it dropped to zero heat.

”Hey! Kid, drop this topic. Thereʼs no traffic in it.”

A seasoned senior leaned back in his chair, advising Zhou Junhao with the demeanor of someone who had been through it all.

Zhou Junhao stared at the sharply declining video traffic data, pursing his lips discontentedly. ”Why is this happening? Such big news should attract more traffic and heat, right? Why is the traffic dropping so fast!”

The senior shook his head. ”You just donʼt get it. Often, what the audience sees is only what they are allowed to see. What they arenʼt allowed to see, naturally, wonʼt reach them.”

Simply put, everyone lives in their own information bubble. Big data has long since delineated the scope and content for each person. Everything you see is probably what big data wants you to see, or even what it makes you actively choose to see.

And those forbidden topics naturally remain untouchable.
”But this news of ours, first, doesnʼt break any laws; second, isnʼt spreading rumors; and third, doesnʼt touch on other sensitive related topics. Why would this be suppressed too?”

”Because of a certain someone.”

The senior lazily yawned. ”Forget about it. Hurry up and change your topic, otherwise you wonʼt meet this weekʼs data targets.”

Zhou Junhao let out a long sigh.

”Look at your gloomy face. Here, come on, work on this topic instead: XX Actress Spotted with Bulging Belly, Suspected Pregnancy.”

Zhou Junhao glanced at it and said, ”But she just came out of a restaurant. Normal people have a bit of a belly after eating a full meal, right? This is too far-fetched—”

”Then, then how about this one: XX Male Celebrityʼs Face Looks Swollen, Fans Should Demand Better.”

Zhou Junhao: ”Who is this male celebrity? Does anyone still follow him now?”

”…”

The senior stared deeply at Zhou Junhao, then let out a long sigh and patted Zhou Junhaoʼs shoulder. ”I donʼt think youʼre cut out for this line of work. You should consider changing careers sooner rather than later.”

Then, he wheeled his chair away.

Leaving only a conflicted-looking Zhou Junhao behind.

”Sigh—”

Zhou Junhao heaved another long sigh.

Before graduation, he was determined to become a principled journalist.

After graduation… Teacher, reality isnʼt what you taught…

Shaking his head in disappointment, Zhou Junhao was just about to close the interface when he noticed the data in front of him suddenly turn red, then transform into a vertical line.

—Yes, it abruptly changed from a straight, flat line that seemed completely dead into a near-perfectly vertical line with almost no visible curve.

This data essentially meant the views instantly jumped from zero to tens of thousands, and were still climbing at a terrifyingly steep rate!

Zhou Junhao gasped sharply, even rubbing his eyes.

”Ex... exploded? It exploded?”

”Let it go, let it go.” The senior misheard and responded from his desk, ”Change careers early, earn a living sooner~”

”It exploded! My video exploded!”

Finally, someone understood what Zhou Junhao was saying.

Immediately, a group of people swarmed around Zhou Junhao, exclaiming in surprise.

”Wow, itʼs actually gossip about Fearless Journey? And they allowed this to be published?”

”Damn, bro! How did you get this past review? Teach me!”

At that moment, someone else shouted, ”Itʼs exploded, everythingʼs exploded! All the gossip related to Fearless Journey is blowing up!”

As soon as the words were spoken, everyone instantly scattered back to their own seats—

”Where did I save that video I held onto last year?”

”I just wrote a draft earlier this year! Now I can finally post it! Hahaha! I told you theyʼd have their day eventually!”

”That stupid production team deserves to have their true colors shown to everyone!”

Hearing his colleaguesʼ comments, Zhou Junhao pursed his lips. His previously low spirits were revitalized.

”Xiao Zhou, Xiao Zhou, come quick, help me out! We can share this wave of traffic together!”

The senior also called out to Zhou Junhao at that moment and sent him a file.

After composing himself, Zhou Junhao opened the file, his face then showing shock: ”Itʼs actually an exclusive interview about Fearless Journey injuring an artist back then? But... but you said topics related to them had no traffic?”

Why would you spend so much time tracking this matter back then...

”Haha, back then, I was also caught up in the heat of the moment, like a foolish kid. Thought Iʼd caught a big story, so I followed and recorded it. Ended up getting kicked out of my previous company because of it.” The senior laughed. ”I thought it would never see the light of day. Never expected thereʼd be a day like today...”

Zhou Junhao was somewhat surprised.

So the senior had such an experience...

”It seems sometimes itʼs okay for people to be a bit persistent after all.”

The senior patted Zhou Junhaoʼs shoulder.

”Hurry up, post it while the heat is high! Being good at seizing opportunities is our specialty too!”

Some things, retribution doesnʼt come because the time hasnʼt arrived yet!

-

On the other side, the people on the island remained undisturbed by these events.

Director Ren was still diligently explaining the scene to Liu Zehang.

In this scene, Liu Zehang, playing Lin Yuʼan, is fleeing through the forest without Xu Ningʼs protection. Another group of players is chasing him, intending to loot all his high-level cards from him.

”At this point, you run from here...”

This was a fast-moving scene requiring the actor to coordinate with a camera dolly. It was quite challenging, so Director Ren personally walked through the entire sequence with the crew before feeling assured enough to sit on the dolly and adjust the camera lens.

Liu Zehang took his position on set, ready in a running stance. Xiao He, who would appear last, stood off-set first, watching their filming.

”Action—”

At the directorʼs cue, Lin Yuʼan swiftly dashed forward.

Trees and bushes whipped past him. Behind Lin Yuʼan, several unfamiliar figures were in hot pursuit.

”Thud—”

As he reached a slope, someone hiding behind a tree lunged out, crashing directly into Lin Yuʼan and sending them both tumbling down the slope.

Although the slope was covered with plants and fallen leaves, Lin Yuʼan still tumbled awkwardly, landing heavily on the ground and scattering debris everywhere. His head also took a knock, causing him to clutch it in pain. The person who had tackled him quickly got up, firmly pinning Lin Yuʼan down.

The others caught up and helped restrain Lin Yuʼan on the ground. The man who seemed to be the leader crouched down and began roughly searching through Lin Yuʼanʼs cards.

”Let go of me! Release me!”

While struggling, Lin Yuʼanʼs eyes darted quickly between the men, searching for a way out. Finally, his gaze settled on the man who was examining the cards.
