Seeking Fortune and Avoiding Evil in the Cultivation World

Chapter 925: Chapter 464: A Corner of the Immortal Prison in the Immortal Realm, Ice Prison_2

In fact, that’s exactly the case. They are villagers from Ice Lotus Village.

They originally lived in a small village, but who would have thought they’d encounter a terrifying beast tide? Ice Lotus Village couldn’t withstand it at all; a large number of villagers perished at the hands of exotic beasts, and even the village chief, Ye Ling, died.

Now, only seventy or eighty villagers remain.

Currently leading them is Elder Xu Chenyang, a Nascent Soul cultivator.

In the outside world, a Nascent Soul cultivator would already be considered a strong force.

But here, they are nothing at all.

As long as they encounter a slightly stronger exotic beast, they’ll be easily killed.

Previously, Ice Lotus Village encountered dozens of Divinity Transformation level exotic beasts, resulting in the villagers being mostly slaughtered.

Even the powerful village chief was no match.

Now, only the elderly, weak, sick, and disabled have survived.

It’s worth noting that Ice Lotus Village was once a large village of tens of thousands, now only seventy or eighty people are alive.

The loss has been unimaginably severe.

But such things are common in this icy wasteland.

”Elder Xu, is our Ice Lotus Village really doomed?”

A very anxious eighteen-year-old boy asked. His name was Lu Zhicheng.

His parents also died protecting him from exotic beasts.

Now only he and his six-year-old sister, Lu Duoduo, remain alive.

As an eighteen-year-old, he couldn’t adapt to such a drastic change.

The disaster came so swiftly that no one could react in time.

”Alas, there’s nothing we can do.”

”This is the very nature of the Ice Prison.”

”It’s not just a small village; even a large city.”

”If it encounters a beast tide, it would likely face the same grim fate.”

”It’s already quite fortunate that seventy or eighty people survived from Ice Lotus Village.”

Elder Xu Chenyang said helplessly.

To them, this icy realm is named the Ice Prison.

The meaning is simple, it’s a frozen hell.

All creatures living in this realm are prisoners with nowhere to escape.

When he was young, he once lived in a city with a population of over a million.

But so what? If a beast tide strikes, even a city of a million cannot withstand it.

Everything turns to dust and ashes.

Originally, he thought he wouldn’t go through another beast tide, but unexpectedly, even after fleeing to Ice Lotus Village, he couldn’t avoid it.

”This...”

Hearing these words, Lu Zhicheng felt helpless. He is just a Qi Cultivation stage cultivator, only eighteen years old, and unable to withstand such terrifying exotic beasts.

If he died, so be it, but his sister is still young. How could he let her die at the hands of exotic beasts?

No matter what, he must ensure his sister survives; it was also his parents’ last wish.

”Elder, we’ve been on the run for so long, where should we finally settle?”

”Yes, if we keep going like this, the ice crystal fruits we rely on will soon run out.”

”Without food, we won’t be able to hold on much longer.”

The crowd spoke, looking at Elder Xu Chenyang with worry.

Food is a matter of life and death for them.

Though once reaching the Foundation Establishment Realm, cultivators can refrain from eating, this doesn’t mean they don’t need food; it just means Foundation Establishment cultivators can absorb Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi to meet their needs.

But if Foundation Establishment cultivators find themselves in a Land of No Spirits, with no spiritual energy and no food, they cannot refrain from eating and will starve to death.

Though the spiritual energy in the Ice Prison is extremely abundant, it’s not a Land of No Spirits.

The problem is, the spiritual energy here is peculiar, containing terrifying cold air.

If one absorbs the spiritual energy of the Ice Prison, the cold air will invade one’s body.

The entire body would turn into an ice sculpture, and they’d freeze to death.

Because of this, even cultivators above Foundation Establishment dare not freely absorb the spiritual energy.

Often, after absorbing some spiritual energy, they need to stop cultivating and expel the cold air from their bodies.

So, they still need food to meet their bodily needs.

Fortunately, though most of the Ice Prison consists of desolate icy areas, some plants can still survive.

There exists a unique plant here called the Ice Crystal Fruit Tree.

These trees bear abundant ice crystal fruits each year.

These ice crystal fruits thus become the daily food for humans in the Ice Prison.

”I am still searching.”

”But finding a place to settle is not that easy.”

”If there are no abundant ice crystal fruit trees nearby, without food, how can we settle down?”

Elder Xu Chenyang said helplessly.

After fleeing from Ice Lotus Village, they have traveled a long distance.

The reason they haven’t settled is simply due to not finding a suitable location.

Choosing a habitat is straightforward for them, just find a place with a lot of ice crystal fruit trees.

If they can live near these trees, they won’t lack food.

Such areas are naturally ideal places to settle.

Unfortunately, until now, he hasn’t found such a place.

So, they can only keep running.

”Elder, if we calculate the time, it’s almost dawn.”

”Once daylight comes, I’m afraid few among us will survive.”

A middle-aged man named Xiong Qinglin spoke up. He is a Golden Core cultivator, but even this means nothing. His level of strength couldn’t even withstand a single claw from those powerful exotic beasts.
