Chapter 1642  The Connection Between Two Worlds

”Shameless? I am just trying to ensure my sonʼs safety. Thatʼs all. I have no interest in you or your world.” The Primal Monarch shrugged.

”Hah! Do you think I am the type to go back on my words? I am nowhere as shameless as you, Primal Monarch!”

”Anyway, you had plenty of chances to explain to him before, so why didnʼt you do so?” ”Hmm… good question…”

The Primal Monarch began pondering with a serious face.

A few moments later, he had a look of realization and said, ”I remember now! I forgot to tell him!” ”Are you serious…?” The Primordial Phoenix frowned.

He shrugged, ”My mind was occupied with other things back then, and teaching him about our world wasnʼt a priority, so I never gave it any thought.” ”Unbelievable…” Yuan muttered.

”Anyway, let me make it up by explaining our world to you now.” The Primal Monarch looked at Yuan and went on to explain the connection between the Primal Expanse and the Nine Heavens.

”As you already know by now, the ʼbeastsʼ of your world are originally from the Primal Expanse. Of course, not all of them came from the Primal Expanse, but a good portion of them are.”

”Now the question is, how does that work? How did they enter your world?”

”But before I answer that question, I have one for you. What happens when a human dies in your world?” The Primal Monarch faced Yuan with a profound smile.

”Well, as long as their soul isnʼt destroyed, they will eventually be reincarnated. Without the memories of their past lives, obviously.”

The Primal Monarch nodded and continued asking, ”Then what do you think happens to beasts after their death?”

Yuan pondered for a moment before responding, ”Unlike humans, beasts donʼt reincarnate. Unless they have a unique bloodline, they simply return to nature—being part of the world as spiritual energy.”

”Youʼre partially correct, and youʼre missing a few pieces.” The Primal Monarch spoke.

”Just like humans, beasts also reincarnate,” he proceeded to explain. ”However, their process is vastly different. When a beast dies, as long as its Chaotic Heart—or ʼcoreʼ—isnʼt destroyed or consumed, it returns to nature as Chaotic Essence in the Primal Expanse and spiritual energy in your world. Over time, that energy will give birth to a new beast, whether by natural birth or through another beast.”

”Unlike humans, who rely on their own bodily fluids to breed and procreate, beasts only need spiritual energy to do so. There are two ways they acquire this energy—by receiving it from another being or by absorbing the natural energy around them. Most prefer to use natureʼs energy, as it is both the most convenient and abundant source. However, those who wish to maintain or strengthen their bloodlineʼs purity and strength typically acquire it from another individual.”

Yuan absorbed the information with a serious expression, carefully processing every word. When the Primal Monarch mentioned the beastsʼ method of breeding through spiritual energy, Yuanʼs thoughts drifted to Lan Yingying and how she had requested his spiritual energy to conceive her future child.

While it wasnʼt unheard of for beasts to conceive using a humanʼs spiritual energy, it was incredibly rare due to the unpredictability of the results. The fusion of human and beast energy often led to unforeseen complications, making such occurrences highly unusual and risky.

However, there are special races that can conceive with a humanʼs spiritual energy without any complications, and Lan Yingying belongs to that category.

”Now then, letʼs finally get to the main topic,” the Primal Monarch said suddenly. ”In the Primal Expanse, for reasons still unknown, when beings here perish, they donʼt always return to nature as Chaotic Essence. Instead, they sometimes transform into spiritual energy and drift into your world, where they are reborn.”

”Huh?” Yuanʼs eyes widened at this information.

He looked at the Primordial Phoenix and muttered, ”Does that mean your daughter died in the Primal Expanse and was reincarnated in the human world?”

She nodded, ”Yes, but due to our unique bloodline, our reincarnation process is somewhat identical to that of humans. For instance, when a human reincarnates, they will always return as humans. If I were to die right now, I would eventually come back as a Primordial Phoenix. However, if there are no interferences, a dragon could reincarnate as a snake or even a pig in their next life. In simpler terms, we will naturally retain our core identity and bloodline no matter how many times we are reborn, as long as there are no interferences.”

”Therefore, no matter how many times she dies, my daughters will always be my daughter.”

”I see…” Yuan muttered.

”By the way, if you didnʼt know, the Primal Expanse existed long before the human world even came into the picture.” The Primal Monarch suddenly said.

”I have another question. If a beast dies in the human world, is there a chance that they could return to the Primal Expanse?” Yuan asked.

”No. Once one leaves the Primal Expanse, they will never return—at least not in that fashion. Of course, they can still return the same way you did.”

”How often does that happen?”

”As often as humans show up. Also, if a beast without a Chaotic Heart visits the Primal Expanse, it will be as powerless as a human. After all, only those with a Chaotic Heart or the Monarchʼs bloodline could cultivate and utilize Chaotic Essence.”

”That explains why I am able to use my powers even without a Chaotic Heart…” Yuan mused to himself.

”That said, a beast born in the human world can still form a Chaotic Heart, so theyʼre not completely hopeless.” The Primal Monarch added.

Sometime later, Yuan said, ”I understand how the Primal Expanse and the Nine Heavens are connected, but I still donʼt know why.”

”Unfortunately, even I do not know why.” The Primal Monarch shook his head.

”Hmm… what about your bloodline? Just what exactly is the Monarchʼs bloodline?”

The Primordial Phoenix stared at the Primal Monarch with intrigue. Although the beings in the Primal Expanse understand and have accepted the Primal Monarchʼs powers, nobody knows how or why such a bloodline exists.
