Starting From A Son In Law To Build An Long Lasting Family

Chapter 87: Iʼm Not Pretending, I Actually Have a Spirit Body!

Lu Changsheng didn’t know that the Second Elder had gone to tell the Fourth Elder about his affairs in Jiulong Market.

He was still playing with a group of kids in the courtyard.

The courtyard had already been turned into a kindergarten or playground by him.

At this time, Lu Miaoyun mentioned that it was getting late and she needed to go to the White Deer Mountain Villa to pick up the kids.

In the past few months, Lu Ping’an, Lu Wuyou, Lu Wuyu, and Lu Xile, the four little ones, had been sent to the White Deer Mountain Villa in Qingzhu Mountain to study.

So Lu Miaoyun and the others would often go to pick them up.

When Lu Changsheng heard that they were going to pick up the kids, he immediately expressed his desire to go together.

As a father, he had never gone to pick up his kids from school before.

Immediately, Lu Changsheng and Lu Miaoyun left the house and headed towards the White Deer Mountain Villa.

As they walked, Lu Changsheng also told Lu Miaoyun about his life in Jiulong Market.
He had bought many concubines and had many children.

One reason was that there was no need to hide such things.

The family would eventually find out.

Another reason was that he felt that this matter would likely be spread from the Second Elder’s mouth to the Fourth Elder’s ears, and eventually to the ears of Lu Miaoyun and the other women.

So, it was better to tell Lu Miaoyun, his main wife, about it early on.

Moreover, the Second Elder had a flying boat that could seat several people, and he was planning to bring Lu Miaoyun and the other women to Jiulong Market on his next trip back.

Otherwise, they would be half a year apart from each other.

When they went to Jiulong Market, Lu Miaoyun and the others would see it for themselves, so it was better to tell them in advance and prepare them mentally. 𝘙αꞐоΒΕS

Lu Miaoyun was silent for a moment after hearing that Lu Changsheng had found so many concubines.

But she didn’t say anything, only pouting and indicating that Lu Changsheng needed to spend more time with them in the future.

“With a wife like this, what more could a husband ask for?”

Lu Changsheng thought to himself.

Although he really did want to buy a bunch of concubines and take in many wives, Lu Miaoyun couldn’t say anything about it, and it would be useless even if she did.

But he still hoped that his wives could understand and accept, and let the harem be more peaceful.

Otherwise, the harem would be filled with jealousy and infighting, and it would be exhausting for everyone.

And Lu Miaoyun’s attitude towards this was something he really liked.

“Husband, next year’s Spirit Root Testing Ceremony, Ping’an and the others will be participating too.”

Lu Miaoyun said, holding onto Lu Changsheng’s arm.

When he heard this, Lu Changsheng’s heart skipped a beat.

Every year on the second day of the second month, Qingzhu Mountain would hold a Spirit Root Testing Ceremony.

To test the spirit root of children who are five or six years old.

Lu Ping’an, Lu Wuyou, Lu Wuxiu, and Lu Xile were also about to reach that age and could participate next year.

But Lu Changsheng was very clear in his heart that these four children of his did not have a Spirit Root.

“Ah, I don’t know if they have a Spirit Root either.”

Lu Changsheng let out a soft sigh and said this.

At this moment, his heart couldn’t help but feel a pang of sadness.

He still had a lot of affection for Lu Ping’an and the others.

“Hubby, maybe Lu Ping’an and the others all have a Spirit Root,”

Lu Miao’yun grasped Lu Changsheng’s hand with her five fingers and softly said.

She also knew that this kind of thing was quite cruel for parents.

Once they didn’t have a Spirit Root, their future would be separated from the immortal world.

She couldn’t help but think of her son Lu Yun.

If he didn’t have a Spirit Root either, his future would only be in the mortal world.

“I’m fine, let’s just take things as they come.”

“If they have a Spirit Root, they can follow me to learn about talismans; if not, they can still live a good life in the mortal world.”

Lu Changsheng gently squeezed his wife’s hand and smiled.

He had thought about this kind of thing many times before and had mentally prepared himself.

It was just that Lu Miaoyun suddenly brought it up, and thinking about the day that was about to come made his heart feel a pang of sadness.

Just like that, the two of them walked and chatted as they arrived at the White Deer Mountain Villa.

This manor wasn’t very big, about the same size as the one Lu Changsheng lived in.

Inside, there were many men and women, old and young, who came to pick up their children, all of whom were from the Lu Family.

“Changsheng, Miaoyun, come to pick up the kids!”

“Brother Changsheng, Sister Miaoyun.”

“Brother Changsheng, Sister Miaoyun.”

Some people recognized Lu Changsheng and Lu Miaoyun and greeted them.

Lu Changsheng didn’t recognize many of them.

Some he had seen before, but didn’t know their names.

While Lu Miaoyun recognized most of them and greeted them familiarly.

Before long, a bell rang out from within the manor, and many children came out.

They were all quite young, mostly five or six years old, with the older ones being around seven or eight years old.

Because children without a Spirit Root would be sent away from Qingzhu Mountain by the latest at eight or nine years old.

After all, being born in Qingzhu Mountain and seeing the world of cultivation, but ultimately being unable to cultivate themselves, would be a kind of cruelty if they stayed.

“Daddy x4, Mommy x4!”

Just then, the four little kids saw Lu Changsheng and Lu Miaoyun and shouted out.

Then they quickly ran over with their short little legs.

Lu Changsheng saw his own children and immediately smiled, then picked up Lu Wuyou and Lu Xile in one go.

“Do you miss your dad?”

Lu Changsheng asked, taking out prepared sugar-coated haws from his storage bag and handing them to the girls.

“We do!”

The two little girls replied in unison.

Next, Lu Changsheng looked at Lu Ping’an and Lu Wuxiu, who were standing to the side, looking a bit dazed, and handed each of them a sugar-coated haw.

He also handed one to Lu Miaoyun.

After all, with so many children in the family, Lu Changsheng would buy these spirit fruit-made sugar-coated haws in bulk.

Lu Miaoyun saw that she also got one and couldn’t help but reveal a sweet smile, her eyes shining like a crescent moon.

She took a bite of the sugar-coated haw, then offered one to Lu Changsheng to eat.

Just like that, the family of four, with Lu Changsheng carrying two children and Lu Miaoyun leading the other two, walked home.

“What have you learned in school? What has the teacher taught you?”

Lu Changsheng asked out loud.

He was still quite curious about what the Lu Family’s hired teacher taught the children.

He was worried that the education in this cultivation family would be brainwashing the children from a young age, teaching them to be loyal to the family and whatnot.

The children immediately started chattering and telling Lu Changsheng about what they learned, while eating their sugar-coated haws.

It was mostly just children’s primers, teaching them to read and write, without any brainwashing education.

Listening to the children’s chatter, Lu Changsheng’s heart felt much more at ease.

That night.

A small reunion was better than a grand wedding.

Last time he came home, Lu Miaoyun and Qu Zhenzhen were both pregnant and couldn’t share a bed.

This time, Lu Changsheng naturally had to make up for it.

He also let the two women experience his current physical strength, which had been tempered to perfection.

The next day, at around three o’clock in the morning.

Lu Changsheng heard a knock on the door and was told that Fourth Elder had come to visit, so he got dressed with Lu Miaoyun and Qu Zhenzhen’s help and came to the main hall.

“Grandma.”

“Grandma.”

Lu Changsheng and Lu Miaoyun arrived at the main hall and immediately saw Fourth Elder, dressed in a blue robe with silver hair, holding a baby with a loving expression.

No need to think, it was obvious that the baby was Lu Yun.

Fourth Elder loved Lu Changsheng, but not to the extent of loving every single one of his children.

It was just that she especially loved this grandson, the son of her own daughter.

“Hehe, looks like Grandma came at a bad time.”

Fourth Elder looked up and saw the two of them, immediately guessing that they had just woken up, and teased them.

Lu Miaoyun heard this and immediately blushed.

“Yesterday, Changsheng just came back and was busy accompanying his wives and children, and forgot to pay his respects to Grandma, please forgive him.”

Lu Changsheng said with a generous expression.

He felt that Fourth Elder’s visit this time wasn’t just to see her grandson.

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have had someone notify him and Lu Miaoyun to come over.

“Haha, grandma also misses my sweet grandson. I thought you were back, Changsheng, so I came over to take a look. ”

Fourth Elder laughed and said.

Then she chatted with Lu Changsheng and Lu Miaoyun about some family matters.

After chatting for a bit, Fourth Elder looked at Lu Changsheng and said, “Changsheng, it’s been a while since you’ve been back, let Grandma take a look at your talismans and see if you’ve fallen behind.”

This was also the purpose of her visit.

After all, Second Elder’s words yesterday had made her come to take a look at Lu Changsheng’s situation.

But she wouldn’t directly say that Lu Changsheng was indulging in women and children.

So she used the excuse of checking Lu Changsheng’s talisman skills to see if he had fallen behind in his cultivation.

If he hadn’t fallen behind, that would be the best.

If he had fallen behind, she could use this as a reason to remind him not to indulge in women and children.

“Changsheng would like to ask Grandma for guidance and pointers.”

Lu Changsheng thought to himself, “Ah, I knew it,” and said with a serious face.

Then he got up and went to the table, taking out his talisman tools from his storage bag.

Lu Miaoyun saw this and took little Lu Yun from Fourth Elder’s arms and walked out of the main hall.

So as not to disturb her husband’s concentration while drawing talismans.

When drawing a medium-grade talisman, Lu Changsheng wasn’t afraid of children making a racket.

He could even hold a child in one hand and draw a talisman with the other without a problem.

But in this situation, he definitely couldn’t do that.

After Lu Miaoyun took the child out, Lu Changsheng began to draw a talisman under Fourth Elder’s watchful eyes, holding a magical talisman pen.

He was drawing a medium-grade talisman, the Earth Escape Talisman.

It was also one of the talismans that Fourth Elder had taught him before.

Before long, Lu Changsheng perfectly drew the Earth Escape Talisman with great stability.

“Changsheng, your Earth Escape Talisman is already so proficient?”

Fourth Elder looked at Lu Changsheng’s smooth drawing of the Earth Escape Talisman and immediately revealed a surprised and delighted expression.

It had only been four months since she taught Lu Changsheng how to draw the Earth Escape Talisman.

But now, Lu Changsheng not only drew the Earth Escape Talisman but also did it with such proficiency, with a success rate of around 70-80%.

This made her very surprised and delighted.

She immediately knew that Lu Changsheng hadn’t slacked off or abandoned his talisman cultivation in Jiulong Market.

“This is also thanks to Grandma’s guidance back then.”

Lu Changsheng smiled humbly and continued, “Grandma, I not only mastered the Earth Escape Talisman but also made some progress on the Ice Frost Talisman, although it’s still not proficient, and I’d like to ask Grandma for guidance.”

Since he had already guessed the reason for Fourth Elder’s visit, Lu Changsheng naturally had to put on a show and perform well.

Earlier, he had been thinking that his crazy behavior of taking in concubines and purchasing servant girls wasn’t just a trivial matter.

The Lu Family would definitely have some opinions about it.

So, he thought for a moment and came up with a reason to excuse himself.

“What, you’ve already learned the Ice Frost Talisman?”

When Fourth Elder heard this and couldn’t help but be taken aback.

Her calm and elegant face suddenly contorted, her eyes widening in shock, with a look of incredulity directed at Lu Changsheng.

This gaze was similar to the one Duan Yanqing had when he found out that Duan Yu was his own son.

“Yes, Grandma, I’m still not very familiar with it,”

Lu Changsheng replied calmly and observed the old lady’s expression.

He thought to himself, “Am I overacting a bit?”

“Alright, draw the Ice Frost Talisman for me to see,”

Fourth Elder said, taking a deep breath.

The Ice Frost Talisman was a medium-grade talisman similar in difficulty to the Earth Escape Talisman.

The problem was that Fourth Elder had never taught Lu Changsheng the Ice Frost Talisman.

It was only four months ago that she had taught Lu Changsheng the Earth Escape Talisman.

In just four months, Lu Changsheng had mastered the Earth Escape Talisman to this extent, which was already astonishing.

But now, Lu Changsheng was telling her that not only had he mastered the Earth Escape Talisman, but he had also figured out the Ice Frost Talisman on his own.

This left her stunned.

Under Fourth Elder’s gaze, Lu Changsheng began to draw the Ice Frost Talisman with a bit of hesitation.

As expected, the first attempt failed.

“You’re not channeling your spiritual energy smoothly during the drawing process, causing it to scatter,”

Fourth Elder pointed out the problem in a gentle tone.

“Yes, Grandma,”

Lu Changsheng nodded and continued to draw.

But he still failed.

Fourth Elder continued to point out the problems.

However, she noticed that Lu Changsheng’s expression had changed.

She could see that Lu Changsheng had indeed achieved a certain level of proficiency with the Ice Frost Talisman.

At this point, Lu Changsheng took out the White Jade Hundred Flowers Wine and took a sip, then began to draw for the third time.

Finally, under Fourth Elder’s gaze, Lu Changsheng “accidentally” succeeded in drawing the Ice Frost Talisman.

“Although it’s not yet proficient, it’s clear that your Ice Frost Talisman has indeed entered the elementary stage,”

Fourth Elder looked at the Ice Frost Talisman and her expression was mixed with shock and incredulity.

If she hadn’t seen it with her own eyes, she wouldn’t have believed that Lu Changsheng had mastered the Earth Escape Talisman in just four months.

And at the same time, he had also entered the elementary stage of the Ice Frost Talisman.

This Talisman Making Talent has simply surpassed Lu Changsheng’s previous performance in Talisman Making Talent.

“Changsheng, how did you do this?”

“I heard Second Elder say that you’ve been frequenting Jiulong Market and taking in many concubines, getting quite indulgent,”

Fourth Elder said, not knowing what to say.

She had originally thought that by checking Lu Changsheng’s talisman making skills, she could find a reason to slightly reprimand him.

But she didn’t expect that Lu Changsheng’s talisman making skills not only hadn’t declined, but had unexpectedly surpassed his previous performance.

This left her momentarily stunned.

She even suspected that the Second Elder might be deceiving her.

Otherwise, how could someone who indulged in women and pleasure every day still have so much energy to devote to talisman making?

Hearing the Fourth Elder’s words, Lu Changsheng thought to himself that the Second Elder had indeed told the Fourth Elder about this matter.

He remained silent for a moment.

“It’s all good as long as your cultivation and talisman making haven’t been neglected,”

Fourth Elder said and not asking further.

After all, Lu Changsheng’s performance in talisman making was so exceptional that she had nothing to say.

Hearing this, Lu Changsheng gritted his teeth and said, “Grandma, I won’t hide it from you, but you might not believe it.”

“I discovered that after being with a woman, I feel extremely comfortable when drawing talismans.”

“Even some parts of talisman making that I didn’t understand before, after being with many women, my thinking becomes clearer, and drawing talismans becomes more natural and effortless.”

Lu Changsheng spoke and said this after thinking it through.

This was the excuse he had come up with to explain his exceptional talent in talisman making and his reason for taking in many concubines.

As for this excuse, it sounded ridiculous.

But in the world of cultivation, it wasn’t too far-fetched.

There was a reason that could well explain Lu Changsheng’s words.

Spiritual Body!

In the world of cultivation, spiritual bodies came in all shapes and sizes, with many varieties.

There were the “Five Elements Spiritual Body” that enhanced cultivation, the “Femme Fatale Body” that benefited dual cultivation, the “Poisonous Body” for toxic cultivation, the “Supreme Sword Bone” for sword cultivation, and so on.

Among these, there were naturally some spiritual bodies related to talisman making.

These allowed people to naturally resonate with the talisman making and making rapid progress.

As for whether there was a spiritual body that could enhance talisman making skills through sexual intercourse, Lu Changsheng didn’t know.

But in this vast world, who could say for certain?

Moreover, spiritual bodies had both dominant and recessive traits.

The Lu Family was just a foundation-establishing family and wouldn’t have much knowledge or research on spiritual bodies.

This was also why Lu Changsheng dared to say this, pushing his situation towards the spiritual body aspect.

As for whether this excuse would bring any trouble, Lu Changsheng wasn’t worried.

After all, his situation wasn’t too far-fetched either.

It was just that he seemed to have an exceptional talent in talisman making.

The Lu Family wouldn’t possibly make a big deal out of this and do something to him.

Who knows, maybe because of this, his innate potential would be further unleashed, and he would even break through another stage.
