Evolving My Undead Legion In A Game-Like World

Chapter 594: Comprehending An Element (Last Day of the month! Requesting for votes!)

[Your affinity with the world has increased significantly.]

Previously, it had been about elements—now it was the ”world.”

Obviously, this wasn’t a simple statement.

”Does that mean I can use any element now?”

It was a truly fascinating thought.

A necromancer wielding multiple elements did sound strange.

His new race seem to have inherited talent in magic from the old ones.

The ability to use any element was indeed remarkable, yet it wasn’t Michael’s greatest gain from this evolution.

That honor belonged to the two titles and a mysterious gift.

Titles were something he had received before, so they no longer surprised him.

The gift, however, was new—so new that Michael’s body trembled with excitement and shock the moment he first laid eyes on it.

[Eye of Truth]

Summary: The gaze of a Divine Person, bestowed by the universe as acknowledgement of divinity. Only beings who carry a trace of the divine—whether through realm, bloodline, or universal recognition—may awaken such eyes. The Eye of Truth strips away all deception and reveals the essence of existence.

Effect: Allows you to perceive hidden truths, pierce illusions, and glimpse the underlying structure of laws. Prolonged use may cause backlash upon the soul.

Like the two new titles, this too seemed to have been gained from becoming a ”True Human,” making Michael even more certain that this was indeed a kind of checkpoint.

”Eye of Truth,” Michael muttered.

One glance at its description made it clear this was no ordinary ability. It didn’t draw on mana, but on soul energy. That alone spoke volumes.

Together with the two titles, a pattern began to emerge—each of them shared one common thread: their relation to Laws.

Since the only thing holding him back from advancing to Rank 3 was his comprehension of a Law, Michael paid close attention to anything tied to them.

The Eye of Truth granted him the ability to perceive the underlying structure of Laws.

The [True Person] title deepened his perception, enhancing his insight into universal principles and lowering the barrier to understanding Laws by 20%.

Meanwhile, [Mortal God] transformed his body into a pseudo-divine vessel, granting resistance to Law-based damage.

That title, Michael realized, was likely the reason he had managed to finally contend with a genuine Rank 3 creature. His abnormal body, including his enhanced healing, must also be tied to it.

Regardless of their individual functions—or perhaps precisely because of them—these three were unmistakably linked to Laws. Among them, the [True Person] title and the Eye of Truth stood out as the keys that could aid him in true comprehension.

Michael sank into thought for a long moment before reaching into his storage space and retrieving a Law Seed. It was a random pick.

All Law Seeds looked similar: transparent, teardrop-shaped crystals as dark as glass, with countless tiny lights flickering inside.

The one in his hand shimmered with a faint blue glow and felt cool to the touch.

After studying it for a while, Michael activated the Eye of Truth.

The world shifted.

The moment the Eye of Truth activated, the familiar space around him rippled. Colors inverted, and light bled into complex patterns. Everything he looked at seemed woven from threads—delicate filaments of existence layered one atop another.

But around the Law Seed in his palm, the change was far deeper.

The cool, glass-like teardrop expanded in his vision. His gaze seemed to fall inward, drawn through its surface. Then, with a soundless pull, Michael’s perception plunged into the seed itself.

It felt like stepping into a small illusion space, yet this place was far more vast than its vessel suggested. All around him hung countless dots of light, suspended in an endless void. They flickered softly, each one carrying weight and presence far beyond its size.

When he focused on a single speck, it was as though he stood before an ocean compressed into a grain of sand.

Michael didn’t understand what he was seeing. Not truly. And yet—he did. The contradiction was maddening. His mind grasped fragments of meaning without language.

Time slipped away. Whether moments or hours passed, he couldn’t tell.

Eventually, through a flicker of insight, he began to recognize patterns. Among the countless specks, a rhythm emerged—a flow that tugged at his soul. Cold, fluid, ceaselessly moving. The lights connected in streams, forming ripples across the illusion space, and Michael felt his chest tighten.

”This is... water.”

The realization crashed into him. This seed, this fragment of reality, was bound to the water element. Not simply the water he could conjure with a skill, but the concept itself.

The lights around him shifted. Streams gathered into rivers, flowing endlessly through the illusion space. When he followed them, they did not stop; they wound into seas, then oceans, each vaster than the last.

Water is movement.

It adapts, bends, twists. Where fire burns and consumes, water flows and persists. It does not break when met with resistance; it finds a path around.

*

The streams shifted again, and he saw rain falling across endless fields, soaking into the earth. Plants sprouted, growing green and strong. Rivers brought life to villages, to cities, to civilizations that thrived upon their banks.

Water is life.

It nourishes. It heals. Without it, nothing could endure.

*

Then the vision changed. The rivers swelled into floods, drowning the land. The oceans raged, waves towering higher than mountains, crashing against all in their path. Ships splintered, cities crumbled, and even stone was ground away into sand.

Water is destruction.

Gentle though it may seem, water’s patience made it terrible. What fire could consume in moments, water could wear down across centuries until even the hardest mountain bowed before its persistence. That was the other side of life-giving flow—unyielding erosion, unstoppable force.

*

The lights dimmed and reshaped once more. He saw mirrors of still lakes under moonlight, their surfaces calm, hiding immeasurable depth.

Water is depth.

Its surface can deceive, hiding quiet strength below. Its stillness is not weakness.

As the visions spiraled, he realized something else:

Water is change.

Solid as ice. Fluid as liquid. Untouchable as vapor. It shifted between forms without ever ceasing to be the same.

*

Michael’s mind trembled on the edge of understanding, and each time he brushed against it, more sparks ignited. Bit by bit, knowledge sank into him.

Unbeknownst to Michael, his panel was reacting.

[Skill Advancement: Water Wall → Intermediate Mastery.]

[Skill Advancement: Water Wall → Advanced Mastery.]

The notifications flickered unseen, his skill advancing at terrifying speed under the Eye of Truth’s influence. Then the progress stalled, halting as though the system itself needed time to catch up.

A long silence followed. Then new panels appeared.

[New Skill Acquired: Water Blade.]

[New Skill Acquired: Aqua Bind.]
