Spiritual Energy Revival: Transform Into a Divine Phoenix, Automatically Upgrade

242: Chapter 242 The Situation in Great Xia is in Turmoil! Dragon City Provides SupportGeneral Wang of the Jianghai City military department had a rather unsightly expression as he felt the mocking and teasing gazes of everyone in the meeting room.

”That Ancient Creature avian was able to kill a Dragon-like Creatures, which means it is even more powerful. As long as we find a way to kill this Ancient Creature, the masses in the city will surely regain their confidence in our government!”

”But have you considered how we are supposed to kill an avian creature that is even more powerful than a dragon?!”

”Have you considered that the power of that dragon alone was enough to instantly wipe out three thousand of our fully armed soldiers? Even if we eliminate this avian creature, what price will Jianghai City have to pay?”

A voice appeared abruptly, speaking the thoughts in the hearts of the leaders present.

Everyone looked towards the source and discovered that it was actually spoken by a leader from the military department.

General Wang said angrily.

”Division Commander Wu, what do you mean by that? You aren’t actually afraid of that avian creature, are you?”

The middle-aged Division Commander Wu shook his head calmly and said indifferently.

”Afraid? I am terrified!”

After saying that, he stared directly into General Wang’s angry eyes!

”I can understand General Wang’s inner thoughts, because not long ago, I felt the same way.”

Then he continued to speak calmly.

”At that time, my thoughts were simple. In my heart, I looked down on wild beasts. Even if these wild beasts were affected by spiritual energy and their size and intelligence grew significantly, they were still just beasts!”

”Because I have always firmly believed that we humans are the most powerful existence on the Blue Planet!”

His words caused everyone in the meeting room to nod in agreement.

At the same time, General Wang also nodded in agreement, but a look of doubt appeared in his eyes. He didn’t understand why, since Division Commander Wu thought the same as he did, he was opposing him like the others.

The middle-aged man, Division Commander Wu, continued to speak.

”But that was only my previous way of thinking...”

”A few days ago, while executing a mission to the outskirts to collect Dragon-like Creatures samples, we fought with a large number of wild creatures, which made me fully realize how terrifying these beasts are!”

”Bloodthirsty, cruel, and knowing how to use intelligence to hunt and fight—compared to us humans, wild creatures are simply natural-born hunters in the mountains and forests!”

”Because of this... even though my division was prepared for battle, we still paid a tragic price to complete the mission.”

”This lesson told me to never underestimate those wild creatures living in the wilderness, or else you will pay an unacceptable price!”

General Wang was somewhat unconvinced. ”No matter how fierce wild beasts are, can they really threaten us humans?”

His words were full of mockery. He had long been dissatisfied with Jianghai City’s previous policy of appeasement toward the avian creature Ye Yang.

He originally wanted to take advantage of the current special situation in Jianghai City to eliminate that giant avian creature that could threaten the city’s safety, but he didn’t expect the reactions of the many leaders in the meeting room to be so unacceptable and incomprehensible.

He could only look at Mayor Lin, who was sitting at the head of the table.

Mayor Lin nodded to Division Commander Wu, glanced at General Wang who was looking at him, and remained silent, his mind filled with thoughts.

In his heart, he strongly agreed with Division Commander Wu’s thoughts. As one of the few people who had personally faced Ye Yang, he clearly understood that such a terrifying creature could not be dealt with using ordinary methods.

If that Dragon-like Creatures could instantly deal with a fully armed army of three thousand, wouldn’t the Ancient Divine Phoenix be even more powerful?

Moreover... Mayor Lin knew that this Ancient Creature possessed intelligence no inferior to humans, and the power it had displayed was already much stronger than that of the Dragon-like Creatures. How could he dare to make the decision to move against a terrifying creature like Ye Yang?

He feared that even if they used nuclear weapons, this avian creature would immediately charge toward Jianghai City...

”Phew... are there any other plans?”

After a moment of silence, Mayor Lin let out a heavy breath, automatically ignoring General Wang’s foolish suggestion.

But the meeting room fell into silence once again, leaving Mayor Lin somewhat helpless.

A few minutes later, a research leader wearing glasses stood up and said tentatively.

”Since the source of the panic among the masses in the city is the Dragon-like Creatures from the outskirts...”

”And we know that the Dragon-like Creatures was killed by the Ancient Divine Phoenix on Divine Phoenix Mountain, as long as we get the Ancient Divine Phoenix to show a friendly attitude again, I believe the situation in the city will improve significantly!”

Hearing this, the eyes of many leaders lit up!

Mayor Lin also nodded approvingly. This plan was indeed not bad.

”Then how do we get the Ancient Divine Phoenix to cooperate with us?”

”That’s easy. Just give it Spirit Stones. Spirit Stones are a precious resource. I believe the Ancient Divine Phoenix will definitely agree to our conditions!”

”This is a good idea!”

”Not bad...”

”No way!”

Suddenly, someone stood up and rejected the proposal!

”According to what we captured from the mouth of the Giant Frog Creature, although Spirit Stones are very valuable resources, for powerful Evolved Creatures, only high-quality Spirit Stones will be effective...”

”The few Spirit Stones in our inventory are at most lower-grade spirit stones, and they aren’t very large. The Ancient Divine Phoenix won’t care for them at all!”

It was like a bucket of cold water poured over everyone’s heads, making their breathing hitch!

”This won’t work... that won’t work either. Just how can we restore the morale of the citizens?!”

”Dammit!”

”I didn’t expect our Jianghai City to face such a serious problem!”

”It’s all the fault of that Dragon-like Creatures!”

Mayor Lin frowned deeply; he couldn’t come up with any ideas for a moment.

Just as the leaders in the meeting room were at their wits’ end, the door to the meeting room was opened.

Knock, knock, knock!

Along with the sound of knocking, a middle-aged man in ordinary clothes walked in. When everyone in the meeting room saw the Dragon-shaped Brooch on his chest, they all stood up immediately!

Salute!

”Welcome, Dragon City Leader!”

The significance of this special Dragon-shaped Brooch was immense. On the scene, only Mayor Lin remained seated at the head of the table without moving, while everyone else stood up and gave a respectful and solemn salute.

The middle-aged man, Leader Li Guoli, waved his hand, his square face carrying a composed smile. ”I could feel the intense emotions of the masses in Jianghai City from far away. That noise is almost loud enough to overturn the sky.”

Then he said to Mayor Lin.

”Old Lin, long time no see.”

”Yes, Old Li, it’s been almost half a year since we last met. But Old Li, what task or instructions does the Dragon City Headquarters have for sending you to Jianghai City?”

Leader Li Guoli walked over slowly. ”The Dragon City Headquarters sent me to your Jianghai City to collect a set of Dragon-like Creatures sample data.”

”This...” Mayor Lin and many leaders were somewhat puzzled. Although Dragon-like Creatures samples were important, the Dragon City Headquarters wouldn’t go so far as to specially dispatch a high-ranking leader with a status equal to a City Lord to personally collect them.

Leader Li Guoli smiled and continued.

”Of course, my purpose in coming to Jianghai City isn’t just that.”

”The Dragon City Headquarters predicted a few days ago that Jianghai City would fall into a passive position because of the Dragon-like Creatures, so I am here this time to help you...”
