1646 Our Goods in the Independent Continent Were Robbed

In the Ye family’s simple courtyard, Ye Maoshan sat on a mahogany chair in the main room instead of fixing flowers and playing with birds. A cup of tea was in front of him. Ye Maoshan picked it up a few times but was not in the mood to drink it, so he put it down in the end.

Beside him sat a dignified and graceful middle-aged woman. She was slightly smaller than Ye Lan, but she was not young either. She was probably in her 40s.

She was wearing a royal blue cheongsam and a light-colored square scarf. Her aura was quite outstanding.

The outline of the Ye family could also be seen in her eyes.

!!
The butler also made her a cup of tea in a set of porcelain-white cups with gold patterns. He didn’t make the same clear tea as Yap Maoshan, but a cup of Western black tea in a mellow color.

“Thank you.”

Ye Shan thanked the butler politely and took a leisurely sip of tea.

Butler Ye retreated to the side and placed his hand in front of him obediently.

Ye Lan was also there, but she wasn’t as relaxed as the other person. She was still in the mood to drink tea at this time.

There was a layer of frost between her eyebrows. Although she was controlling her emotions, her eyes were anxious.

“They’re not back yet, Dad?”

Ye Maoshan looked outside. His heart sank and he shook his head. “Wait a little longer.”

Finally, someone hurried in the direction of the main room.

Ye Maoshan picked up his teacup for the fifth time. Then, he saw the person who came in from the corner of his eye and immediately placed the cup on the table again. He immediately asked, “How is it?”

The person who came in was also about 40. He was neither tall nor short, probably above 1.75 and less than 1.8 meters tall. He looked more rugged than the others in the Ye family, with a square face.

Ye Keji was very respectful to Elder Ye. Even though he had been travel-worn and hadn’t taken a break, he didn’t complain. He immediately said, “Our cargo on Independence has been hijacked. The other team leader, Wang Fei, who was in charge of transporting this cargo, has disappeared with it. Our people on the independent continent haven’t figured out the situation yet. They’re trying to track it down. They’ll tell us when they have news.”

Ye Maoshan stood up and paced around anxiously with his hands clasped behind his back. Then, he stopped and unconsciously looked at him. “That batch… was robbed?”

“Yes.”

Ye Keji wasn’t a direct descendant of the Ye family, but he was also a close relative of the branch family. He was considered a cousin of sorts.

He poured a glass of water and gulped it down. His expression turned grim as he emphasized it to Ye Maoshan. “The situation is that the people responsible for transporting this shipment have also disappeared. We won’t be able to figure out who touched our goods for a while.”

The forces in the independent continent were complicated, even more so than in Beijing.

If they didn’t know who did it, there was no way to recover the shipment or figure out why they were robbed.

“I remember that Wang Fei is working for Wangchuan?” Like Ye Keji, Ye Shan was a member of the Ye family branch.

She spoke suddenly, and everyone turned in her direction.

Ye Shan calmly put down the cup of tea and smiled. “Isn’t it obvious?” she said lightly, as if joking. “Don’t let someone steal the goods and do a disappearing act… everything will be resolved.”

Ye Lan frowned and questioned her coldly, “Ye Shan, what do you mean?”
