Chapter 1444 - 1444 The Old Master Wonʼt Come Today?

1444 The Old Master Won’t Come Today?

Saturday dawned bright and clear.

It rained for two consecutive days. The drizzle washed away all the sand and wind in the hot capital.

The air in Beijing was much fresher now.

Today was an extremely important day for Tang Wanru and Jiang Xianrou.

!!
They had been unlucky for so long. Finally, they could hold their heads high.

Both of them woke up early and went to a special beauty salon to do their skincare. They also called a professional styling team to style their hair.

Neither of them wanted anything to go wrong today.

Ten o’clock.

After Tang Wanru and Jiang Xianrou finished their styling, they took a car to the Imperial Mansion on Chang’an Street.

They were early, but someone had arrived before them.

“You guys are here?”

Jiang Zongnan had specially postponed his schedule at the company for a day. He looked mature and energetic in a black suit.

Seeming to be in a good mood. He smiled and said when he saw them, “Xianrou’s godmother isn’t here yet. I just asked her. She’s on the way here and confirmed that she can arrive before midnight.”

Tang Wanru was wearing a traditional Chinese suit today. If it were anyone else, the rose-red color would definitely not be able to suppress it. She was wearing an emerald-agate necklace. Coupled with a set of expensive jewelry, it forcefully suppressed the rose-red color.

A smile appeared on her well-maintained face. She leaned against Jiang Zongnan and said gently, “It’s fine. It doesn’t matter if the Countess comes later. Anyway, Xianrou’s filiation banquet won’t officially start until 12.”

She thought for a moment and asked, “By the way, Zongnan, which relatives are coming today?”

“Only Aunt’s family arrived. In addition, a few relatives from the family came, but they are all distant relatives.”

When Jiang Zongnan mentioned the guests who had already arrived, the smile on his face clearly faded, his brows furrowed, and his tone was low.

“I called Dad half an hour ago. The old man insisted he wouldn’t come.”

Today was a happy day for Jiang Xianrou.

Although Jiang Zongnan wanted to call his brother and niece, he only informed Old Master Jiang in the end because of his wife’s and daughter’s wishes.

However, Old Master Jiang was very stubborn and insisted on not coming.

He had taken the time to visit the sanatorium himself yesterday. The old man’s attitude was unyielding, and he did not show any signs of softening.

He was really not coming.

He made a special trip there, but the Old Master’s attitude was the same. He was not coming!

Jiang Zongnan didn’t want his family to end up like this.

However, things had already developed to this point. Since the old man was unwilling to come, he had to help Xianrou complete this filiation banquet no matter what.

“It’s fine if Dad doesn’t want to come.” Tang Wanru’s eyes flickered with a trace of coldness.

She was very good at saving face. She placed her hand on the man’s shoulder and comforted him silently. “Dad is old. After all, his body can’t compare to before. It doesn’t matter if he doesn’t want to make a trip. Elders will always be our elders. I don’t think Xianrou will be angry with Grandpa because of this.”

She turned her head and gestured to Jiang Xianrou with her eyes. “Xianrou, don’t you think so?”

A trace of disdain flashed across Jiang Xianrou’s bright oval face. Her eyelashes drooped and she looked like a lady from a wealthy family. She nodded. “Yes.”

Tang Wanru immediately smiled and said to Jiang Zongnan, “Look, you can rest assured since Xianrou said so.”
