Quick Transmigration: The Host is Forced to Love!

152: Chapter 152 The Underworld Boss’s Benefactor 18Lu Zhan wove through the crowd, looking for some fun to help him relax, and finally sat down at the bar.

Holding a glass of wine and swirling it gently, his gaze swept over the men and women on the dance floor.

Just then, he spotted a familiar figure and let his gaze linger for a moment; it seemed to be Mu Wan, the young miss of the Mu Family.

Their families had been friends for generations, and Mu Wan was three or four years younger than him, so he had always viewed her as a younger sister.

Mu Wan had always been charming and cute in front of him, so Lu Zhan was happy to indulge her a little, but it was strictly platonic; there was nothing more than that.

Going out to play on a whim and running into someone he knew was a bit of a surprise to Lu Zhan.

Mu Wan felt someone staring at her and looked up toward the source of the gaze. Seeing Lu Zhan sitting at the bar, her eyes lit up, and she immediately approached him, asking in a sweet voice.

“Brother Zhan, is it really you?”

Lu Zhan had a faint smile on his face as he gave a slight nod.

Mu Wan looked agitated. Suddenly, she opened her arms wide and hugged Lu Zhan tightly, tears streaming down and soaking his clothes as she sobbed.

“Brother Zhan, after the Apocalypse arrived, I heard you were missing. So much time passed without any word, and I thought something had happened to you. I was heartbroken for so long. I’m so happy to see you’re okay now!”

Being hugged like that made Lu Zhan feel a bit resistant, and he originally wanted to push her away, but seeing Mu Wan cry so sorrowfully over his safety, he couldn’t help but feel a touch of pity.

Instead, he raised his hand and gently patted her back. After a moment, when she had calmed down, he slowly pushed her away.

This scene was faithfully reported to Leng Yan by the subordinate following them in secret.

Upon hearing this, Leng Yan’s expression turned even darker, and the fury in his heart continued to rise. He could no longer care about anything else, dropped his work, and rushed straight to the club where Lu Zhan was.

When Leng Yan arrived at the club, Lu Zhan and Mu Wan were chatting and laughing together.

He recognized Mu Wan at a glance. She was the person he hated most because he knew in his heart that Mu Wan held a somewhat special place in A-Zhan’s heart.

Thinking back to the photo his subordinate had sent of the two hugging intimately, he couldn’t bear it for another second. He strode over and yanked Lu Zhan to his side.

“A-Zhan, what are you doing?”

His voice was clearly tinged with coldness, and his repressed nature unconsciously leaked out.

Lu Zhan frowned, feeling a bit displeased. Had it been before, he would have long since stormed off after being questioned like that.

But now, Leng Yan was someone he actually cared about, so he only said with a hint of annoyance.

“I just felt bored and came out to play and relax. Is this really necessary?”

Hearing this, the jealousy and rage in Leng Yan’s heart seemed ready to swallow his reason. He gripped Lu Zhan’s left wrist tightly and glared at Mu Wan.

“What? Being with her is relaxing for A-Zhan? Being with her makes A-Zhan not bored anymore?”

Mu Wan was frightened by Leng Yan’s Aura. She stood by the bar in a daze, not daring to speak.

She knew well that Leng Yan was no longer who he used to be; he was famous throughout the entire Dawn Base, and even the Li Family was on the verge of ruin.

Her Mu Family was also in a precarious position. To protect himself, her father had to compromise with Leng Yan and withdraw from the struggle. In such a sensitive time, they truly couldn’t afford to offend him at all.

Being mocked so sarcastically by Leng Yan, especially in front of Mu Wan, Lu Zhan felt he had lost all face. A surge of anger rose in his heart, and he scolded in a low voice.

“Leng Yan, don’t start acting crazy here, talking nonsense in that sarcastic Yin and Yang way. You might not care about your reputation, but this young master still wants his face.”

After being scolded by Lu Zhan, Leng Yan clearly regained some clarity. Feeling that he shouldn’t have acted so impulsively, he remained silent and didn’t argue back.

Meanwhile, Mu Wan’s gaze quietly shifted between Leng Yan and Lu Zhan, her eyes filled with shock. She had clearly guessed that their relationship was out of the ordinary.

As for Lu Zhan, he didn’t care how Leng Yan reacted. His expression softened slightly, and he looked at Mu Wan with an apologetic gaze.

“Mu Wan, I’ve made a fool of myself in front of you today. Why don’t you head back first, and we’ll get together another time when we’re free.”

Hearing this, Mu Wan nodded hurriedly. Although she really wanted to catch up with Brother Zhan, it was clearly not the right time. Deciding that discretion was the better part of valor, she quickly left this place of trouble.

However, in Leng Yan’s eyes, this scene became an even sharper contrast: A-Zhan was harsh and severe with him, yet gentle and kind to Mu Wan.

This made him feel increasingly jealous and hurt, but he didn’t dare to lash out recklessly again. He could only say, feigning grievance.

“A-Zhan, I’m your boyfriend. How can you be so close to someone else?”

Lu Zhan simply remained silent with a calm expression.

It wasn’t until Mu Wan’s figure disappeared from sight that he withdrew his gaze. He then stared at Leng Yan with a piercing look and asked in a cold tone.

“I’ve already spoken about what happened just now, and I don’t want to explain it again. I have a clear conscience toward you. Now it’s my turn to ask you: how did you know I was here? And you got here so fast—are you having someone tail me?”

Leng Yan’s expression changed slightly, but he didn’t dare tell the truth. His lips trembled as he tried to come up with an excuse to brush it off.

Lu Zhan had come to know Leng Yan somewhat over this period. Sensing the subtle change in the other’s expression, he added solemnly and seriously before Leng Yan could speak.

“Leng Yan, you’d better not think about lying to me. Otherwise, if I find out, both my trust and my affection will vanish, and you won’t need to show your face before me ever again.”

Leng Yan had already prepared his words in his head, but after hearing this, he instantly didn’t dare to say them.

His face was full of struggle. After a moment of hesitation, he closed his eyes slightly and replied with a hint of self-abandonment.

“A-Zhan, I did send someone, but it was mainly for your safety. I was just afraid something would happen to you.”

Lu Zhan sneered upon hearing this. The words Leng Yan had said to him before were still fresh in his mind, yet they had been easily broken in the blink of an eye.

This inevitably made him feel a bit uncomfortable, but fortunately, the other man hadn’t chosen to lie until the end; he wasn’t completely beyond saving.

Although this matter was small, it couldn’t be let go so easily. A small punishment as a warning was still necessary.

After finishing his thoughts, Lu Zhan glanced at Leng Yan. Even though the man looked pitiful, Lu Zhan didn’t say another word. Instead, he forcefully wrenched his left hand free and strode out of the club.

Fearing that Lu Zhan would get even angrier, Leng Yan didn’t dare to argue or provoke him further. He hurriedly followed behind cautiously, and they walked out together.

On the way back, a heavy atmosphere seemed to hang between the two. One didn’t want to speak, and the other didn’t dare to; thus, both remained silent.
