Dimensional Keeper: All My Skills Are at Level 100

Chapter 1424  Primal Intent to Devour!

ʼShe carries the Black Dragon Chaotic Bloodline as well,ʼ Max concluded quickly.

He could sense it clearly now. The aura around her, though restrained, carried the faint trace of chaotic dragon energy. It was pure and ancient. Yet something about it felt different from his own.

ʼBut why does my bloodline want to devour hers?ʼ

This was what troubled him.

Bloodlines of similar origin usually resonated, repelled, or established hierarchy. Devouring was something entirely different. That implied assimilation. It implied that one lineage could grow stronger by consuming the other.

And previously whenever he had encountered any one of Black Dragon Chaotic Bloodline, he had always felt his bloodline superior to theirs but then why the sudden changes? Why the superiority here was replaced by endless hunger to devour that bloodline?

Maxʼs eyes narrowed slightly as he studied her more carefully.

Her aura was refined.

Too refined.

While many disciples radiated their dragon lineage openly under the pressure of the skull, hers was tightly controlled, almost condensed to perfection. It did not leak wildly. It did not clash with the dragon skullʼs aura. Instead, it seemed to exist in quiet harmony with it.

ʼWhat makes her bloodline unique enough to trigger this hunger?ʼ

He pondered possibilities.

Was her lineage purer?

Was it closer to the origin of true dragons?

Or was it perhaps incomplete in a way that his bloodline could absorb and perfect?

The thought that his bloodline might evolve by devouring another sent a chill down his spine. The instinct felt ancient and brutal, as though it came from a primordial era where dragons fought and consumed one another to climb higher in dominance.

Max suppressed the stirring greed within him.

He did not like the feeling.

He was not a beast driven by blind instinct. He was a cultivator with will and reason. Yet he could not deny that the reaction was real and powerful.

His gaze lingered on the black haired lady for a few more seconds.

She had not noticed him yet. Or perhaps she had and simply chose not to react.

Either way, Max understood something clearly in that moment.

This was not the last time their paths would cross.

And whatever secret her bloodline held, it was something that resonated deeply with the core of his own existence.

Just as Max was trying to calm the restless stirring within his bloodline, the lady with long black hair slowly turned her head.

It was a simple movement.

Yet the moment her gaze met his, something inside him snapped.

Their eyes locked across the dome, across the crushing aura of the dragon skull, across the sea of struggling disciples. For a fraction of a second, the world around him faded. The pressure, the murmurs, the trial, all of it became distant.

Then Max truly saw her face.

She was beautiful.

That was the first and most honest thought that surfaced in his mind. Her features were delicate yet sharp, as though carved by some meticulous hand. Her skin seemed almost luminous beneath the dim red light of the dome.

Her eyes were deep and dark, carrying a faint glint of cold intelligence. There was no panic in them despite the suffocating dragon pressure. There was no arrogance either. Only quiet awareness.

But beauty was not what shattered his composure.

The instant their gazes met, the reaction within his body intensified violently.

It was no longer a subtle hunger.

It became a roar.

The Black Dragon Chaotic Bloodline within him surged like a beast awakened from slumber. His veins felt hot, almost burning from the inside. The chaotic dragon energy coiled fiercely around his core, expanding, pressing against the boundaries of his control.

ʼWhat is happening?ʼ

Maxʼs breathing grew slightly heavier, though externally he still appeared calm.

The hunger turned sharp.

It was not admiration.

It was not attraction.

It was devouring intent.

A primitive desire to consume.

His bloodline recognized something in her that it desperately wanted. It was as if her existence itself was nourishment. His chaotic dragon energy vibrated with such intensity that for a brief moment he feared it would erupt outward uncontrollably.

A faint black shimmer flickered in his pupils before vanishing.

He clenched his fists subconsciously.

The urge became even more violent.

If before it had been a whisper, now it was a command.

Devour.

Assimilate.

Claim.

Max felt a wave of cold realization wash over him. This was not normal resonance between similar bloodlines. This was predatory instinct. His lineage was not acknowledging her as equal. It was identifying her as prey.

ʼWhy?ʼ

His thoughts raced.

Was her bloodline a purer fragment of a true Black Dragon?

Was it a variant?

Or was it perhaps incomplete, waiting to be absorbed by a more dominant form?

The chaotic energy within him pulsed harder the longer their eyes remained locked. He could feel the dragon skullʼs aura around them reacting faintly as well, as though some ancient remnant was stirred by their silent confrontation.

At that moment, Max sensed something else.

Her aura shifted slightly.

Not outwardly.

But internally.

It was subtle, yet unmistakable.

Her bloodline had reacted too.

Her eyes narrowed ever so slightly as if she had sensed the same violent stirring from him. A faint ripple of dragon energy passed through her body, controlled and contained, but sharp.

For a split second, the space between them felt charged.

Like two ancient beasts measuring each other.

In the end, she looked away from him. And when that happened, Max suddenly began to feel calm down.

His heart became steady, but deep within, the Black Dragon Chaotic Bloodline was restless beyond measure. The hunger did not fade after he broke eye contact. It lingered, simmering, like a predator that had finally spotted its target after wandering in darkness for centuries.

ʼThis is dangerous.ʼ

He realized it clearly now. If he allowed this instinct to guide him, he might lose control one day.

He took a slow breath and suppressed the chaotic dragon energy with sheer will. The Dimensional Sovereign Body assisted him, stabilizing his internal fluctuations and sealing the violent surge before it could leak outward.

Yet even as he calmed himself, one truth remained undeniable.

His bloodline had marked her.

And whatever secret lay within her dragon lineage, it was something that his own existence craved with terrifying intensity.
