Dimensional Keeper: All My Skills Are at Level 100

Chapter 513: Obsidian Dragon City

Max landed heavily on a wide platform, the surface beneath him engraved with countless ancient runes, symbols of power that pulsed faintly with residual energy from the transmission. But his attention wasn’t on the runes—not even for a second.

His gaze was drawn forward, eyes widening slightly as he looked through the massive transparent glass wall that stretched in front of him, revealing a breathtaking view of the city beyond.

What he saw wasn’t just a city—it was a seamless blend of eras, a marvel of culture and power fused into one.

Towering skyscrapers rose into the heavens, their forms majestic and awe-inspiring, but unlike the cold steel-and-glass monoliths found in modern worlds, these towers were shaped with the essence of tradition.

Their surfaces were carved from jade-like stone, polished wood, and flowing rooflines that resembled ancient temples, yet they stood as tall as mountains, glowing faintly with energy conduits running along their sides like golden veins.

Between them sprawled traditional courtyards, pagodas, open markets with crimson-tiled roofs, and streets paved with ancient cobblestone. Wooden lanterns hung from overhead beams, flickering with spiritual fire, while floating orbs of light—clearly infused with modern formations—hovered above, casting a gentle glow over the pedestrians below.

People walked in robes and tunics, yet some wore armors embedded with sleek enchantments, others carried scrolls while riding beast-like hovercrafts that soared just above the ground.

It was a world where ancient elegance met modern grandeur, where technology bowed to heritage, and tradition ruled even the highest structures.

Max stood silently, awestruck, as the hum of the city whispered across the glass—an entire world of wonder and civilization waiting beyond the platform.

”This... This is amazing!” Max muttered aloud, genuine awe lacing his voice as his eyes soaked in the breathtaking cityscape before him. It was like something out of a dream, too magnificent, too harmoniously crafted to be real.

”This is Obsidian Dragon City,” the parrot spirit said, its glowing form hovering beside him as it looked over the city with an almost reverent calm. ”One of the many cities under the influence of the Black Dragon Palace.”

”Obsidian Dragon City...” Max nodded slowly, his eyes still fixed on the skyline. He understood now. The name wasn’t just poetic—it was symbolic. The obsidian reflected the unyielding depth of legacy, and the dragon, the palace’s immortal pride.

”Let’s go,” the parrot spirit said. ”I will take you to where the trial of the True Inheritance will be held.”

Before Max could speak, a blurry light enveloped him, warm and soft, and then his body was lifted into the air, gliding smoothly across the skies alongside the parrot. The city drew nearer with every passing second, and as they approached, the grandeur only grew more overwhelming.

After a few minutes of flight, Max arrived at the gates of a truly colossal city castle—the heart of Obsidian Dragon City. The walls alone were towering, and as they descended near the entrance, he saw the city gates rise up to a staggering height of a thousand feet.

They were made of polished darkstone, inscribed with ancient dragon motifs that shimmered faintly with hidden runes. But it wasn’t the gate itself that caught his attention. It was the massive signboard above it.

Etched into the center were three colossal golden characters: Obsidian Dragon City.

Those three words pulsed with an overwhelming aura—an inexhaustible, boundless force that exuded ancient power and pride.

Just looking at the letters made Max’s head buzz faintly, his Soul Palace trembling ever so slightly under the weight of the aura. Despite his confidence in his willpower and spiritual stability, he instinctively looked away, not daring to stare for more than a heartbeat.

”This sign...” Max muttered, his eyes instinctively flicking back to the massive golden words above the city gates.

Even as he glanced at them for only a heartbeat, the residual pressure made his chest tighten slightly. The aura it exuded was far too vast, far too profound to be just ordinary craftsmanship.

”The words above that signboard were personally written by the Third Master of Obsidian Dragon City,” the parrot spirit explained, its tone solemn. ”Within those characters is contained the root Laws of all fire-attribute energies. They are imbued with a fragment of the Laws themselves, not just ink and calligraphy. When an expert looks upon them, they often feel disoriented—even those who have already comprehended a Concept of Flame are not immune to its pressure.”

”I see...” Max said softly, startled. That explained the tremble in his spiritual sea. He hadn’t even touched the essence of the sign, yet it had still affected him. And this so-called Third Master... who exactly were they?

The spirit hadn’t specified their lineage, and Max suspected that was deliberate. From what little he had learned during the previous qualification trial, the Black Dragon Palace wasn’t ruled by a single family or bloodline but by a powerful coalition of noble clans, each one boasting monstrous talents and fearsome strength.

If the Third Master held such a title within Obsidian Dragon City, then their influence—and power—had to be immense.

”Come, let us enter,” the parrot spirit said, floating ahead with practiced ease.

Max followed, stepping onto the great road that led into the heart of the city. The road itself was over a mile wide, paved with dark, rune-inscribed stone that pulsed faintly with energy. Along both sides, towering walls and stone guard towers loomed, and scattered along the path were groups of young geniuses, standing or walking with quiet purpose.

All of them wore black—robes, armor, battle uniforms—and each exuded a fierce aura. Max’s senses extended cautiously as he glanced around. His eyes narrowed in surprise. Nearly every figure he passed was at the Expert Rank. Some of them, he couldn’t even gauge at all, which meant they were likely Master Rank.

There were a few who were still at the Seeker Rank, but Max immediately noticed that each of them looked shockingly young—no older than himself. Like him, they had broken through early, each one a monstrous talent cultivated from childhood.

As Max approached the grand entrance of the city, the air seemed to shift. A line of guards clad in crimson and black flame-etched armor stood blocking the path, spears in hand, their gazes sharp and unwavering.

One of them stepped forward, face hidden behind a gleaming helm, his voice deep and authoritative. ”Identify yourselves! Name and origin!”

Before Max could speak, the parrot spirit calmly fluttered down to his side, its wings gleaming faintly. ”From the mortal world of Acaris,” it said in a neutral, almost ritualistic tone. ”Under the sector of the Thousand Vine Sector, falling within the Eternal Sun Domain of the Verdant Sky Realm. The trial challenger’s name is Max Morgan and he is here for the trial of True Inheritance.”

’Thousand Vine Sector? Eternal Sun Domain? Verdant Sky Realm?’ Max was stunned as he silently repeated the names in his mind, each one sounding more foreign and distant than the last. He had always known that the planet he lived on was called Acaris—its name etched into every map and memory—but the rest of what the parrot spirit had just revealed went completely over his head.

Moreover he already knew that there existed other worlds beside the one he was from but it his first time hearing the term called ”mortal world.”
