Dimensional Keeper: All My Skills Are at Level 100

Chapter 184: History of Nulls

”Well, now that they are gone, you can also leave the Battle Realm.”

The blobʼs voice broke the silence, and as it spoke, a new portal appeared before Max on the stage.

Without hesitation, Max stepped through.

In an instant, he was transported to the fourth floor of the black cube.

And there—

He saw the blob of slime, floating in midair, seemingly playing with four floating screens, each displaying unreadable symbols and data.

The moment the blob noticed Max, it swiped its limb across the screens, making them vanish instantly.

Max ignored the strange action—his mind had only one focus.

The question that had been eating away at him.

Without wasting time, he spoke.

”What happened to Veylin? And what was that monster?”

The blobʼs gaze locked onto him, its usually playful demeanor gone.

Its form stilled, and when it finally spoke, its voice was serious—graver than ever before.

”I donʼt know how or why… but Veylin transformed into a race of foreign species called the Null.”

Maxʼs frown deepened.

”Null?”

The name was completely unfamiliar to him.

The blob continued.

”They are the most dangerous race in the entire world of Acaris. Capable of devouring soul, energy, and even the body of others.”

Maxʼs brows knitted together.

He had never heard of them before.

He knew that other races existed in this world—especially in the Lost Continent. He had knowledge of Elves and Demons—both of whom had a long history of interaction with humans.

But other than them—

There was nothing.

”How come Iʼve never heard of them?”

The blob watched him closely, as if gauging his reaction.

Then it spoke again.

”Donʼt think too much if this is the first time youʼre hearing about them. Because what Iʼm about to tell you… will blow your mind away.”

Maxʼs eyes narrowed, his anticipation rising.

The blob sighed deeply, as if it was preparing to speak about something far greater than anything Max had expected.

Then—

It spoke the words that shook Max to his core.

”Remember the war 10,000 years ago?”

Maxʼs body tensed.

But before he could respond—

The blob dropped a bomb shell on him.

”The beings that invaded back then… looked just like what Veylin transformed into.”

”A Null.”

Maxʼs mind froze.

A brief moment of silence filled the room.

Then—

”What?”

A single word.

But it carried all the disbelief, all the shock, all the realization that flooded Maxʼs mind at that moment.

”Yeah, Iʼve seen some of them…”

The blobʼs voice was unnaturally calm, but there was something unsettling about the way it spoke.

”They had the exact same look—blackened face, no features, and a white glowing ring in the center.”

Max remained silent, listening carefully.

The blob seemed deep in thought, its form shifting slightly as it processed its memories.

Then—

”But if Iʼm not wrong…”

It paused, considering its next words carefully.

”Those beings also possessed two horns. Thatʼs the only thing missing from Veylinʼs transformation.”

Maxʼs frown deepened.

ʼTwo horns?ʼ

That detail bothered him.

Veylin had transformed into something terrifying, but he hadnʼt grown any horns.

Did that mean his transformation wasnʼt complete? Or was it something else entirely?

The blobʼs tone turned solemn, a rare shift from its usual carefree nature.

”However, I am sure that he is a Null.”

Max stiffened at those words.

”Whenever a Null uses their special abilities…”

The blobʼs voice dropped slightly, its next words carrying an undeniable weight.

”Their white glowing ring on their blackened face… turns red.”

Maxʼs eyes widened.

That was exactly what had happened to Veylin.

The moment the ring turned red, he had felt something being forcibly drained from him—his very soul being devoured.

The blob continued, its voice grave.

”I am sure of it. I have seen it with my own eyes.”

Max exhaled slowly, his mind reeling.

This wasnʼt just about Veylin anymore.

If the Null were truly the same beings that invaded 10,000 years ago…

Then what did that mean for the present?

—

The blob sighed, its form shifting slightly as if musing over old memories.

”Since the war 10,000 years ago… I havenʼt really left the temple, so I donʼt know much about the outside world.”

Its voice carried a hint of regret, as if realizing just how detached it was from the present era.

”My knowledge is only limited to what the geniuses who have entered the temple talked about over the years.”

Max listened carefully, his mind racing.

The blobʼs tone shifted, becoming more thoughtful.

”Though, I noticed something… Crown Prince Aelric and a few other geniuses seemed to have recognized what Veylin transformed into.”

Maxʼs eyes sharpened.

”That means even after 10,000 years… their presence is still known.”

The weight of that realization hit him like a storm.

The Nulls never truly disappeared.

A cold sensation crawled up Maxʼs spine.

The blob continued, its voice calm but firm.

”Well, I guess when you leave this temple, ask around about them. Your elders might know something.”

Max nodded slowly, his expression unreadable.

He would find out the truth.

Because if the Nulls were still out there…

Then the war from 10,000 years ago might not be over yet.

”Anyway, you should enter the fifth floor.”

The blobʼs voice broke through Maxʼs thoughts as a portal materialized beside him, pulsing with a faint golden light.

Max glanced at it before turning to the blob, curiosity flickering in his pink eyes.

”Do you know what I can get from this inheritance?”

His lips curled slightly.

”Because I already have his technique.”

For a second, the blobʼs expression darkened.

Then—

It glared at him.

”A technique isnʼt everything.” Its voice held an edge of irritation.

Max raised an eyebrow, waiting for an explanation.

The blob sighed before continuing.

”When you reach higher levels, the importance of resources will increase to an all-time high. Even if you have talent, even if you have comprehension, without the right resources, youʼll hit a wall.”

Max listened intently. He had already felt this truth creeping up on him. His progress was rapid, but the resources he needed were massive too. He couldnʼt fathom the amount of resources he would need to level up in higher ranks.

But the blob wasnʼt finished.

”Most importantly, the teachings of my master will help you understand each stage of power comprehensively.”

Its voice lowered slightly, almost as if it was about to reveal something crucial.

Then—

”You should know that all the people of the Lower Domain are limited to Expert Rank…”

Maxʼs expression hardened.

He had heard this countless times.

Even the strongest of the Lower Domain—the King of the West, the Witch of the North, even the Young Monarch himself—were all capped at Expert Rank.

But the real question was—why?

The blob answered before he could ask.

”Do you know the reason why?”

Max shook his head, his curiosity intensifying.

The blobʼs form flickered slightly, its tone turning solemn.

”There are mainly two reasons.

”The presence of mana in the Lower Domain is extremely limited. That alone restricts the pinnacle of growth for everyone born there.”

Max frowned. He never heard of such things before.

But then—

The blobʼs next words shook him.

”The second reason is the most important.

Resources.

People in the Lower Domain never reach Level 2 in any Concept they learn.”

Maxʼs breath hitched slightly.

”What?”

The blobʼs voice didnʼt waver.

”No matter if itʼs the King of the West, the Witch of the North, or even the Young Monarch himself… all of their Concepts remain at Level 1. They never reach Level 2.”

Maxʼs mind reeled.

Every powerful figure he had ever heard of—all capped at Concept Level 1?

But that would mean—
