Battle Through the Heavens: Live Q&a Session - Only I Know the Answers

137: Chapter 136 Han ShanshanNorthern Continent, the far northern ice plains.

On a vast, silver-white expanse of snow, a massive, ghastly white flame burned fiercely, illuminating this land of extreme cold with an eerie brightness.

Within the leaping flames, a man and a woman were relentlessly chasing a small, exquisite, ghastly white flame.

This seemingly insignificant little flame was, in reality, the source fire of the Bone Chilling Flame, ranked eleventh on the strange fire ranking list.

For Yao Chen and Grandmaster Han Shanshan, as long as they could control it, this perilous journey would be considered a complete success.

However, how could a strange fire be so easily tamed?

It was like a cunning human, dodging left and right under their pursuit and interception.

”Teacher, this flame is too cunning. If this continues, we will surely be roasted to death by it!”

Yao Chen looked at the source fire, which was within arm’s reach yet impossible to touch, and complained helplessly to Grandmaster Han Shanshan.

He had exhausted all his abilities, but success in capturing the source fire of the Bone Chilling Flame remained far out of reach.

Grandmaster Han Shanshan looked at her disciple’s embarrassed expression, feeling equally helpless in her heart.

But seeing her most beloved disciple suffering such hardship, she was instantly enraged and, without hesitation, cast a space-locking technique, attempting to confine the source fire of the Bone Chilling Flame within a certain range.

The Bone Chilling Flame seemed to have sensed Grandmaster Han Shanshan’s intention and began to leap even more violently.

As an entity near the top of the strange fire ranking list, it possessed considerable intelligence and knew full well the intentions of these two people.

Once refined by Yao Chen, it would surely be completely annihilated from the heavens and earth, so it resisted with all its might.

In an instant, the ghastly white flame surged upwards. The scorching high temperature and bone-piercing chill intertwined, twisting Yao Chen and Grandmaster Han Shanshan’s faces into hideous expressions.

The seemingly scalding flame was, in reality, bone-chillingly cold.

The cold air invaded Yao Chen’s body like a venomous snake, rapidly freezing his blood and Fighting Qi.

”Plop.”

With a soft sound, Yao Chen instantly collapsed onto the ice. One could see his face instantly covered by the ghastly white flame; flames were burning from his mouth, ears, and eyes.

In the intense confrontation with the Bone Chilling Flame, he had ultimately been defeated.

At this moment, his body was completely occupied by the Bone Chilling Flame, with cold energy overflowing; even deep within his soul, ghastly white flames were burning.

”Tea... cher...”

Yao Chen’s lips trembled slightly as he looked at Grandmaster Han Shanshan with dull eyes.

Seeing her disciple suffering such torture, Grandmaster Han Shanshan was thoroughly enraged and recklessly and frantically tried to capture the source fire of the Bone Chilling Flame.

As she raised her hand, several space chains whistled out, precisely and tightly confining the source fire of the Bone Chilling Flame.

As the source fire was controlled, the ghastly white flames that had been burning across the sky gradually extinguished. Looking at Grandmaster Han Shanshan, her face was covered in blue frost, and her beautiful jet-black hair had turned into stiff blue icicles, making her look wretched.

She looked at the completely confined flame in her hand with fear; in order to fully control the Bone Chilling Flame, she had already burned a large amount of her own Fighting Qi.

”Disciple, are you alright?”

Grandmaster Han Shanshan strode toward Yao Chen, anxiously helping him up, her eyes filled with tension and concern.

Yao Chen opened his mouth to speak, but before he could make a sound, ghastly white flames gushed out from his mouth.

Seeing this, Grandmaster Han Shanshan hurriedly channeled her Fighting Qi into Yao Chen’s body to examine him, and upon seeing this, her heart instantly sank to the bottom.

Yao Chen’s body had long been riddled with holes by the erosion of the Bone Chilling Flame, with cold energy overflowing, and his signs of life were almost completely gone.

Grandmaster Han Shanshan helplessly stroked Yao Chen’s cold cheeks, tears welling up in her eyes.

”No, disciple, Teacher will save you, Teacher will save you right now, you must live!”

She choked back sobs, her eyes brimming with tears, trying to snatch Yao Chen’s life back from the hands of death.

However, Yao Chen’s internal organs and soul had both been completely frozen, and his aura of life was like a candle in the wind, gradually dissipating.

As the last glimmer in his eyes faded away, Yao Chen’s fire of life was completely extinguished.

”No!!!”

Grandmaster Han Shanshan wailed at the sky, her voice hoarse and desperate; how she wished a miracle would descend at this moment to save Yao Chen from this desperate situation.

She frantically stuffed all the medicinal pills from her storage ring into Yao Chen’s mouth, hoping for a glimmer of survival.

But in the face of the fatal damage caused by the strange fire, how could mere Tier 7 medicinal pills turn the tide?

Grandmaster Han Shanshan’s tears fell like rain, her jade arms tightly embracing Yao Chen, consumed by grief.

Her most beloved disciple had just like that closed his eyes forever, dying in her arms.

”No, I cannot let my disciple die like this. This absolutely cannot be!!!”

A flash of determination crossed Grandmaster Han Shanshan’s eyes, and a glimmer of hope was rekindled.

Others did not know, but she, Grandmaster Han Shanshan, possessed the Dou Di Bloodline! In her family’s history, there had once been Dou Di powerhouses, but as time passed, the bloodline gradually withered, and the family declined along with it.

And at this moment, what she was thinking of was a long-sealed forbidden technique within her family; this was already her last straw to save Yao Chen.

[Live Stream Ended]

[Question: What method did Grandmaster Han Shanshan use to revive Yao Chen?]

[Soul Mie Sheng: What? Yao Chen’s teacher is actually also of the Dou Di Bloodline?]

Soul Mie Sheng sat upright in the main hall of the Hall of Souls; hearing this, his face was full of astonishment.

In his understanding, the only ones with renowned fame on the Fighting Qi Continent were the Ancient Eight Clans.

Now, this Grandmaster Han Shanshan who had appeared out of nowhere actually possessed the Dou Di Bloodline. Although it had withered, a descendant of a Dou Di was, after all, not to be trifled with.

Thinking about it carefully, in this vast land of the Central Plains, he had never heard of any Han Family.

Presumably, this family had already completely declined; it was likely that not even a single Dou Sheng powerhouse could be found, and it was even highly probable that Grandmaster Han Shanshan was the last remaining person in the Han clan.

[Yao Chen: Teacher!]

Watching the live stream screen, Yao Chen’s mind seemed to be surging with thousands of thoughts, and some blurry fragments followed him like shadows.

He vaguely remembered something, however, whenever those memories were about to become clear.

There was always a mysterious and strange force that intervened, ruthlessly preventing him from recalling the past.

But within the corridors of memory deep in his soul, the figure of Grandmaster Han Shanshan existed without a doubt.

Yes, Grandmaster Han Shanshan was his teacher; this point was beyond doubt.

He also remembered that it was precisely because of Grandmaster Han Shanshan’s unfortunate passing that he was prompted to adopt Han Feng, the last clansman of the Han Family.

At that time, he was filled with enthusiasm and took Han Feng as his disciple, wholeheartedly hoping to allow the Han Family to rise again and shine on the vast land of the Central Plains.

But fate played tricks on people; he never expected that the rebellious disciple Han Feng, in whom he had placed such high hopes, would collude with the Hall of Souls and ultimately cruelly murder him.

A bitter smile appeared on the face of Yao Chen’s soul form, the smile full of helplessness and unwillingness.

He knew deeply that he had ultimately failed Grandmaster Han Shanshan’s earnest entrustment and had not been able to fulfill her dying wish.

”Teacher, have you remembered? How did Grand-teacher save you?”

Xiao Yan stared intently at Yao Lao, his eyes flickering with a brilliant light of hope.
