Battle Through the Heavens: Live Q&a Session - Only I Know the Answers

30: Chapter 30 Journey to the Snake-People TribeAfter confirming the terms of the deal with Hai Bodong, he escorted Chen Yang to the entrance of the grocery store, stroking his beard with a joyful expression as he said:

”Little friend, I shall wait here for your return.”

Chen Yang nodded and shot straight into the sky, transforming into a streak of golden light that vanished before Hai Bodong’s eyes.

”A… Dou Zong!”

Watching Chen Yang fly without the need for Dou Qi wings completely stunned Hai Bodong. He never imagined that this seemingly young man could be so incredibly powerful.

Hai Bodong wiped the non-existent cold sweat from his forehead, let out a slow breath, and thought to himself:

”It is fortunate that I did not start a conflict with the little friend—no, the senior—otherwise, I would not even know how I died.”

But immediately, Hai Bodong became happy. The stronger Chen Yang was, the more it proved his choice had been correct. It seemed the day for him to break his seal and regain his strength had arrived.

Gazing in the direction Chen Yang had left, hope shone in Hai Bodong’s eyes.

”...”

As Chen Yang flew at full speed, he soon arrived in the desert. Seeing the lightning strikes continually crashing down in the distance, he knew he had to hurry, or Xiao Yan would snatch the opportunity.

”Bang!”

Chen Yang pushed the Undying Heavenly Art to its limit; his extreme speed even created sonic booms. Watching Gu He and the others still entangled in a struggle with the leaders of the Snake-People Tribe, he ignored them, instead flying directly past them toward the center of the lightning tribulation.

”Hua She Er, a human has broken through our defenses and is heading straight for Her Majesty! Go and stop him!”

A Snake-People leader fighting against Yun Yun shouted loudly.

Gu He also instantly said to Yun Yun: ”Sect Leader Yun, leave this to us. Go quickly and help me seize the Green Lotus Core Flame; do not let anyone else snatch the fruits of our victory!”

Upon hearing this, Yun Yun glanced at Gu He and instantly unleashed her full power as a Dou Huang expert, blasting away the several leaders surrounding her. A refined voice emerged from beneath the black cloth covering her face.

”Very well, Gu He, you must hold on.”

Yun Yun flapped her wings, transforming into a streak of cyan light as she chased after the golden light.

Below the lightning tribulation, in a bush not far away.

A sneaky figure was crouching inside, watching the giant snake constantly struggling against the lightning tribulation, a look of shock flashing in his eyes.

”Teacher, do you think Medusa will succeed?”

”I am not sure either. This is the first time I have seen such a thing. I did not expect her to be so determined to break through to the Dou Zong realm.”

Yao Lao stroked his beard, watching the shocking scene in the sky as he spoke slowly.

Under the powerful lightning tribulation, the giant snake eventually collapsed. Its originally massive body had become tattered and shredded by the lightning, shrinking significantly. Its charred body even emitted a strange, meaty aroma, as if the giant snake had been roasted.

”Teacher, Medusa isn’t dead, is she?”

Xiao Yan looked at the motionless giant snake and asked Yao Lao.

Yao Lao shook his head as he watched the seven-colored rays of light descending from the sky.

”Not only has she not died, but she has successfully broken through. It is just that I do not know where she is now!”

”Little Yan-zi, get down! A powerful expert is coming!”

”Boom!!!”

A deafening sound rang in Xiao Yan’s ears. He saw that the island was already shrouded in a cloud of dust, making it impossible to see the situation inside.

But not long after, the golden light, carrying a cyan flame, flew off into the distance again.

”Teacher, he…!”

Watching the Green Lotus Core Flame being snatched away right before his eyes, Xiao Yan was too shocked to speak.

Immediately following, a streak of cyan light chased after the departing golden silhouette.

”Little Yan-zi, there is no time. I will possess your body to chase them!”

Yao Lao rushed directly into Xiao Yan’s body, taking control. A powerful surge of Dou Qi erupted, and blue-and-white wings appeared behind Xiao Yan.

With a flap of his wings, he transformed into a streak of blue-and-white light, chasing after the two figures ahead.

The three of them chased and fled in this manner. Yun Yun naturally noticed the stranger pursuing from behind, but she could not care about that. Her current mission was to ensure the person who had stolen the Green Lotus Core Flame did not escape.

However, she could not catch up. No matter how much she accelerated, she remained at a fixed distance, neither too close nor too far.

Chen Yang possessed the Undying Heavenly Art, so he had no fear of his Dou Qi being exhausted. Yun Yun was a true Dou Huang expert, and her storage of Dou Qi was quite substantial.

Only Xiao Yan, controlled by Yao Lao, trailed behind, miserably eating Qi-returning pills while chasing the two figures in front.

Suddenly.

The golden streak of light came to a halt.

Seeing this, Yun Yun also stopped a short distance away. Looking at the man who did not require Dou Qi wings, Yun Yun was shocked—this was actually a Dou Zong!

She, a mere Dou Huang expert, had actually been chasing a Dou Zong.

Seeing such a tense situation, Yun Yun gripped the sword in her hand tightly.

”Sect Leader of the Cloud Mist Sect, Yun Yun, pays her respects to the senior. May I ask what use the senior has for this Green Lotus Core Flame? My friend is a Sixth-Rank Alchemist and can refine pills to exchange with the senior for the Green Lotus Core Flame.”

Chen Yang, covered in golden light, watched Yun Yun bow to him and couldn’t help but think of the day in the Magical Beast Mountain Range when his purple flame entered her body. Unfortunately, he had truly passed out that day.

”Sect Leader Yun, look and see who I am.”

Chen Yang controlled the golden light to disperse, revealing his handsome face.

Yun Yun looked up and saw that it was actually Chen Yang!

In that moment, she felt the joy of reunion as well as the anger from having chased him so hard. She flapped her wings, flew directly to Chen Yang’s side, and raised her small fists to strike his chest.

Chen Yang grabbed Yun Yun’s small hands, pulled her in, and embraced her. Yun Yun appeared directly in his arms. Looking into her slightly cyan pupils, Chen Yang pulled off the mask covering her face.

He lowered his head and kissed her. At this moment, Yun Yun had not expected Chen Yang to kiss her directly. Her wide eyes were filled with an indescribable emotion, and her hands, which had intended to push Chen Yang away...

...but thinking of those days in the Magical Beast Mountain Range, Yun Yun closed her eyes, slowly wrapped her arms around Chen Yang’s neck, and returned the kiss.

However, the miserable Xiao Yan arrived just in time to see this awkward scene. Should he leave, or should he stay?

”Not good, Little Yan-zi, this Dou Huang expert and that Dou Zong are actually acquaintances! It looks like this Green Lotus Core Flame is not meant for us.”

Yun Yun also sensed that someone had arrived and pushed Chen Yang away. Chen Yang looked at her flushed face, which was simply adorable.

But seeing Xiao Yan in the distance, Chen Yang pretended to be profound and said: ”Who are you, daring to disturb me? If you do not give me a good reason today, I will kill you!”

Upon hearing this, Xiao Yan was terrified, cold sweat breaking out on his back. Unfortunately, it was Yao Lao controlling Xiao Yan’s body, otherwise, Xiao Yan felt he might have been too scared to even stand.

This was the pressure of a Dou Zong; it was terrifying!

”Junior, Yan Xiao, pays respects to the senior. I came here chasing the Green Lotus Core Flame, but I did not expect to intrude upon such a scene. I have committed a grave offense.”
