Holy body, start with the Five Animal Exercises

17: Iron Arm Fist ManualQin Jiang looked up at the ruffian in front of him and couldn’t help but laugh, ”It’s not salty, so it must be bland, right?”

”Hm?”

The ruffian was stunned, then a little annoyed, ”No, I mean, little brother, do you really take me for a decoration? Brothers! Show your talent—bah! Get your weapons!”

As he spoke, he reached out to the side, and a stick was directly smacked into his hand.

Hiss~

He endured the burning pain in his palm and glared fiercely at the guy who had ’handed’ him the wooden stick.

He snatched the stick, ”Surround him!”

After he finished speaking, several ruffians walked over and surrounded Qin Jiang.

”Kid, you want to become a disciple, huh? Don’t you know the rules? First, show us some respect with ten taels of silver!”

”Bang!”

Behind him, a tall ruffian kicked him in the waist, sending him sprawling face-first.

The tall ruffian stepped forward, cupping his fists slightly, ”This brother, I am their big brother, Li Lang. My subordinates don’t understand the rules, please forgive us.

To be honest, we are also acting on the orders of the Old Martial Arts Master inside, guarding the door for him.

To put it bluntly, we’re just a bunch of watchdogs. The purpose, well, it’s very simple: the Old Martial Arts Master doesn’t take just anyone.

Of these ten taels of silver, seventy percent! That all goes to the Old Martial Arts Master! Brother, if you’re not in a hurry, go get another ten taels of silver, and it will make it easier for us brothers to report back.”

He spoke very politely because he had a hunch that this young man in front of him was not simple.

Mainly, he had seen the knife on his waist.

It was the signature piece of the current owner of Lius Blacksmith Shop! A treasure worth dozens of taels of silver!

The outer city was so chaotic; if he didn’t have this kind of insight, knowing who not to provoke, how could he and his brothers live so comfortably and even latch onto the Old Martial Arts Master’s coattails?

Qin Jiang looked at Li Lang upon hearing this. Those well-defined muscles in his arms definitely meant he had Cultivated Martial arts, perhaps even trained by the Old Martial Arts Master.

However, if he just handed over the money like this...

”What if I don’t want to give these ten taels of silver?” he said with a smile.

Li Lang was not surprised by this and directly said, ”Brother, why bother arguing with us rats in the gutter? Didn’t the old saying go, ’Spend money to avoid disaster!’

Today, no matter what, these ten taels of silver are unavoidable, unless you can take down all of us brothers!”

The ruffian who had been kicked aside rubbed his butt and leaned over, ”Big brother! Why are you wasting words with him! He doesn’t even treat you like a person!”

”Bang!”

Li Lang raised his foot and kicked him aside again, then looked at Qin Jiang, ”Brother, what have you decided?”

”Swish!”

Blackwater unsheathed, and Li Lang and the others immediately retreated several steps.

”Brother, you can’t use weapons, using weapons doesn’t count!” Li Lang quickly raised his hands and shouted in a panic.

What kind of person is this? He draws a knife at the slightest disagreement?!

Qin Jiang glanced at him, regretfully tearing off a strip of cloth from the bottom edge of his clothes.

He put away Blackwater, wrapped the strip of cloth around his hand, ”Come at me all at once, I’m in a hurry.”

”My leg~”

”My stomach~”

”My balls~”

”Ouch~ this guy really doesn’t treat us like people~ my head is going to split open~”

Qin Jiang twisted his shoulders and removed the cloth strip from his hand; the blood-stained area reflected faintly.

’Clap’

He casually threw the cloth strip, and it hit the ground, splattering blood in a radial pattern.

He looked at Li Lang, who was lying motionless on the ground, walked over, and kicked him, ”Don’t forget to clean up.”

Li Lang’s body trembled slightly. He secretly glanced at Qin Jiang, then turned his head back, saying in a muffled voice, ”Understood, sir, please take your time.”

Qin Jiang nodded and walked towards the Old Martial Arts Master’s courtyard.

When he reached the courtyard gate, the burly man with his arms crossed grinned, ”Not bad, you’ve got some skill. Have you Cultivated before?”

”I learned the Five Animals Play from Physician Baiyun,” Qin Jiang said.

”Physician Baiyun? The one from Baiyun Clinic?” The burly man spoke with some surprise, not expecting that someone could actually master the Five Animals Play.

He nodded slightly, ”Alright, give me the silver, and you can go in. The room directly facing the courtyard gate is Master Wang Minglang’s room.”

Qin Jiang took out the silver notes and handed them to him, then walked straight into the courtyard.

”Oh, right, my name is Li Bo. The one you just beat up is my younger brother,” the burly man said with a smile.

Qin Jiang nodded slightly, ”If you want revenge, any time.”

Li Bo smiled, ”Revenge for what? A beating to teach him a lesson is a good thing.”

Qin Jiang ignored him and stepped towards Wang Minglang’s residence.

Looking at the courtyard, several torches were lit, and on both sides of the central path, several wooden and iron stakes were planted. Judging by the marks on them, they were likely used for daily practice.

When he reached the door, before he could push it open, the door automatically opened. An old man with white hair and beard, dressed in gray, sat on a chair directly facing the door, smoking a large pipe.

An invisible will swept over, and in a trance, Qin Jiang seemed to see a crimson fierce tiger roaring in the mountains.

”Come in.”

An old voice exploded in his ear. Qin Jiang snapped back to reality but did not see the gray-haired old man speak.

”Knock, knock.”

Wang Minglang tapped his pipe, and the ashes fell to the ground, where he crushed them with his foot.

Qin Jiang walked in and cupped his fists slightly.

”Alright, there aren’t so many rules, and it’s not a formal discipleship. Consider it me taking you on as a student. You can call me Master Wang from now on.”

As he spoke, Wang Minglang got up and took out a boxing manual, handing it to Qin Jiang. Qin Jiang looked at the boxing manual in his hand; the cover had the three characters ’Iron Arm Fist’ written on it.

Seeing this, he couldn’t help but feel a little excited; he had finally gotten it!

True Martial arts!

Perhaps it couldn’t prolong life like the Five Animals Play, but in terms of power, it far surpassed the Five Animals Play!

”This is a copy of the boxing manual I made. Some Cultivation insights and necessary practice prescriptions are also recorded in it. Just follow it, and you can get started.

Besides that, you need to take a medicinal bath once a month, five taels of silver per bath. It’s up to you whether you use it or not.

Every three days, you have one opportunity to ask questions. Don’t bother me at other times,” Wang Minglang said.

Qin Jiang cupped his fists slightly, ”Understood, Master Wang.”

Wang Minglang raised his hand to stuff tobacco into his pipe, then with a flick of his finger, a spark lit up and ignited the tobacco.

Whoosh~

Exhaling smoke, he waved his hand, ”Alright, if there’s nothing else, go back. You can usually practice in the courtyard. If you are bullied in the future, you can find me. Of course, in the North City, few people dare to touch my student.”

After Qin Jiang left, Li Bo, who was guarding the courtyard gate, walked in and cupped his fists slightly, ”Master Wang.”

”Go investigate his background,” Wang Minglang waved his hand.

Returning to Shanman Restaurant, Qin Jiang lit the candle on the table and opened the boxing manual in his hand.

’All Martial arts in the world, only through true Martial arts can one step onto the Dao. One must have fully developed bones and a strong Physical Body to Cultivate. Otherwise, it will harm the body and lead to the risk of death.

This Iron Arm Fist, created by me, is the most powerful and demands an even greater Physique. Those who are insufficient should progress gradually and not be greedy for quick success.’

Although this Iron Arm Fist sounded like it was known for its arms, it was actually a combination of internal and external, including Qi and footwork.

Otherwise, relying solely on a pair of arms, no matter how powerful, how powerful could it truly be?

Turning a page, it recorded the practice methods of Iron Arm Fist, divided into three steps, or three levels.

The first step was hitting wooden stakes, the second step hitting iron stakes, and the third step was divided into two parts: one was Four-Stake Skill, and the other was Bag Skill.

Soon, he flipped to the end, where two medicinal formulas were recorded: one for use during practice and one for use after practice.

The one used during practice was the Arm-Training Secret Formula: five taels of Thorny Elsholtzia, three taels of Cortex Lycii, two taels of Licorice, one tael of Saposhnikovia, and five qian of Safflower.

The one used afterward was the Arm-Washing Secret Formula: eight fen of Safflower, one qian and five fen of Fructus Aurantii, two qian of Achyranthes, one qian and five fen of Cortex Acanthopanacis, one qian and five fen of Cortex Eucommiae, and one qian of Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae.

As for the medicinal bath’s secret formula, it was not recorded in the boxing manual. Clearly, this was the core reason why Wang Minglang taught the Iron Arm Fist without fearing the Secret Manual being leaked.

As he finished reading, the potential panel appeared before his eyes.
