Becoming an Immortal and Ancestor, Starting from the Clan-protecting Divine Beast

11: Chapter 11 ’Uncle Yuan’Time flew like a white steed passing a crack, and over a month passed in the blink of an eye.

During this period, Yuan Feng stayed on the cliff behind the mountain cultivating. After finishing his breathing exercises, he practiced the Through-Arm Mountain Shattering Fist. This Legacy Spell of the Tongbi Demon Ape Clan became increasingly proficient in his hands, already displaying the imposing manner of a Great Master of Fist Arts.

As for Chen Fufeng, aside from his daily cultivation, he spent his time accompanying his wife and children, dedicating the rest to studying the First-Order Talisman Crafting Inheritance.

There was no alternative; the Chen Family had only recently started, and the number of Cultivators within the Family was pitifully small. The only ones capable were him and Ji Wanqing.

However, the latter was pregnant and should not exert herself too much, meaning most tasks fell to him.

On the peak of Luoyun Mountain, inside the main house.

Chen Fufeng held a Weasel-Hair Brush specifically used for drawing Talismanic Incantations in his right hand, dipping it into a pigment mixed from Cinnabar, Obsidian Powder, and fragments of Spirit Stone. He looked at the blank yellow Talismanic Incantation placed on the desk, recalling the essentials mentioned in the Talisman Crafting Insights.

The next moment, he emptied his mind, cut off the distracting thoughts, focusing only on the blank Talismanic Incantation. Spiritual Energy flowed from his Qi Sea Dantian, gathering in his right hand through the Qi Meridians.

Then, the brush descended, outlining the pattern in one smooth motion.

Instantly, the light greatly intensified. The newly drawn Talismanic Incantation seemed to come alive, greedily absorbing the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi on Luoyun Mountain.

After three breaths, the light dissipated. A fully formed Talismanic Incantation lay quietly on the desk, its surface patterns faintly glowing, allowing one to sense the Spiritual Qi flowing upon it.

”Fortunately, I am a Late Stage Qi Refining Cultivator. If it were a Middle Stage Qi Refining Cultivator who had only studied Talismanic Incantation crafting for just over a month, it would be difficult to complete a First-Order Medium Grade Talismanic Incantation unless they were exceptionally talented.”

Chen Fufeng wiped the sweat from his forehead. His aptitude in the Talisman Crafting Dao was decent. Relying on his Late Stage Qi Refining cultivation, after slightly over a month, he finally drew a First-Order Medium Grade Talismanic Incantation: the Fireball Talisman.

When activated, this Talismanic Incantation can generate a large fireball. Based on the Li Fire Spiritual Power injected by Chen Fufeng and supplemented by the absorbed Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi, the power unleashed is enough to injure a Qi Refining Fifth Layer Cultivator.

Energy is not generated from thin air. Any Talismanic Incantation absorbs a certain amount of Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi when it takes shape. If the Heaven And Earth Spiritual Essence in the surrounding environment is too weak, crafting the Talismanic Incantation becomes very difficult, unless one injects their own Spiritual Energy to help the Talismanic Incantation fully form.

Doing this consumes too much of the Cultivator’s own Spiritual Energy. After all, how can the Small World of the Human Body compare to the Great World Outside?

Furthermore, crafting Talismanic Incantations requires a large amount of time and effort. Regular Cultivators rarely craft their own Talismanic Incantations; purchasing the Talisman Crafting Materials costs money and delays their own cultivation.

Talisman Crafting is not guaranteed to succeed 100% of the time. If one is careless, the Talismanic Incantation will self-destruct, wasting a set of Materials.

Therefore, most Cultivators purchase Talismanic Incantations rather than making them themselves.

Chen Fufeng picked up the Talismanic Incantation and gently returned the Weasel-Hair Brush in his hand to the Brush Stand. This was a First-Order Medium Grade Magical Artifact, crafted using the branch of the First-Order Medium Grade Spirit Plant, Lingyao Wood, as the base, supplemented by the Vital Mane Hair of the Middle Stage Qi Refining Yao Beast, Mane Wolf. It was very expensive.

He walked out of the Study and came to the Main Hall. Ji Wanqing was lying on a Recliner made of Low Grade Spirit Bamboo, holding a copy of *Qingxuanzi’s Travels and Anecdotes*, reading with great interest.

Her belly was growing larger, and the date of delivery was approaching. She should not move around too much.

Seeing Chen Fufeng emerge, she put down the book in her hand and asked softly, ”Fufeng, did you succeed?”

Chen Fufeng nodded vigorously, his joy evident: ”Wanqing, look, this is the Fireball Talisman I drew.”

Ji Wanqing reached out and took the Talismanic Incantation, examining it carefully. Her willow-leaf eyebrows curved, and she looked affectionately at Chen Fufeng: ”Fufeng, the luckiest decision I ever made in this life was marrying you.”

Chen Fufeng scratched his head, leaned down, and kissed Ji Wanqing, saying gently, ”We will only get better. Once I achieve Foundation Establishment, you will be the wife of a Great Cultivator. If I can achieve Purple Mansion, then you will be the wife of an Immortal Master.”

Ji Wanqing pursed her lips and chuckled softly: ”Then I will wait for that day.”

After the couple shared a tender moment, Chen Fufeng took the Fireball Talisman and walked straight toward the Back Mountain. He wanted to show Yuan Feng... On the Back Mountain, three children of different ages appeared stealthily. Leading them was a little boy about six years old, his eyes darting around, looking precocious and mischievous. A little girl followed behind him.

Chen Zhuyun lagged behind, feeling a headache. His younger brother said he wanted to play in the Back Mountain and even brought Zhuqing along.

In the past, they could go wherever they wanted on Luoyun Mountain, but now it was different. That creature, which had formed a contract with their father and become the Chen Family’s revered Clan-Guarding Spirit Beast, lived somewhere on the Back Mountain.

If they went over like this, they might disturb that being... Chen Zhuyun originally wanted to stop them, but he was persuaded by Chen Zhuxiao.

”Big Brother, we are the next generation of Spokespersons for the Chen Family. We’ll have to interact with the Clan-Guarding Spirit Beast sooner or later, so why not meet early and leave an impression? Don’t you agree?”

Just like that, the three little ones secretly snuck into the Back Mountain, hiding it from Chen Fufeng and Ji Wanqing.

”Zhu Xiao, wait.” Chen Zhuyun strode forward and grabbed Chen Zhuxiao, his tone serious: ”Are you really sure you want to go and meet the Clan-Guarding Spirit Beast?”

Chen Zhuxiao’s eyes were bright. He lifted his head and puffed out his chest, looking directly at his Big Brother without fear: ”Big Brother, I am sure.”

”Alright, then let’s go meet it.” Chen Zhuyun said no more, walking ahead first, leaving his broad back for his younger brother and sister.

He started practicing martial arts when he was seven and a half. Counting fully, it had been two years, and his physique was much taller and larger than his peers.

Although the Martial Dao he studied was merely Mortal Martial Dao, having been born into a Cultivation Family, even a small one, they could still provide some Spiritual Items for Body Tempering.

For those Mortal Martial Artists, Heaven and Earth Spiritual Items are rare Martial Dao Treasures that can forge a perfect Martial Dao Foundation.

With Chen Zhuyun’s current Martial Dao level, he could contend with a Nourishing Origin Realm Cultivator. Cultivators of this Realm share similarities with the Four Refinements of Martial Dao, as both involve tempering the body and strengthening the Qi and Blood physique.

Moving up from there is the legendary Martial Dao Innate, capable of matching a Qi Refining Cultivator, which hasn’t appeared for many years.

The three little ones walked and stopped along the way, finally arriving near the cliff. The cold wind blew, causing Chen Zhuxiao and Chen Zhuqing, who had not yet tested their Spiritual Roots or begun cultivation, to shiver involuntarily.

Chen Zhuyun stirred his Qi and Blood, and his skin turned crimson, like a fiercely burning furnace, dispelling the cold around him.

Of the Four Refinements of Martial Dao—Skin, Flesh, Tendons, and Bone—he had already completed the cultivation of Skin Refining and was currently in the Flesh Refining stage. His Qi and Blood surpassed that of a strong adult male.

Seeing this, the two little ones behind him hugged their Big Brother’s arms, one on the left and one on the right, feeling the warmth emanating from him.

”Are you ready?” Chen Zhuyun looked down at his younger brother and sister.

”We are ready, Big Brother.” Chen Zhuxiao’s gaze was firm. He was the one who suggested coming to the Back Mountain to see the Clan-Guarding Spirit Beast, so naturally, he wouldn’t retreat now.

”I... I am ready too.” The somewhat introverted Chen Zhuqing stammered a reply, showing no intention of turning back.

Chen Zhuyun smiled, his steps steady, and he led the two into the cliff area where Yuan Feng was located.

The three little ones arrived at the cliff, looking left and right. Aside from an old tree growing outward toward the cliff, they saw nothing but the cold wind whistling.

”B-Big Brother, we... didn’t come to the wrong place, did we?” Chen Zhuxiao said, trembling.

The wind on this cliff was surprisingly strong and cold. If Chen Zhuyun hadn’t been there, he and Chen Zhuqing would probably have been blown to the ground and gotten sick from the cold.

Chen Zhuyun looked around and stated with certainty: ”This is the place. We didn’t come to the wrong spot.”

Just then, a deep, resonant voice sounded: ”What are you three little dolls doing here?”

Like a sudden clap of thunder, the three little ones were startled and looked toward the old tree. A pair of pitch-black eyes peered through the gaps between the leaves.

Then, a Gray-Black Great Ape, Eighteen Feet tall, leaped down from the tree. Its arms were thick like iron pillars, and its Demonic Body was as tall as a rockery. Standing there, it resembled a massive, heavy city wall.

The three little ones were stunned, speechless. This was their Family’s Clan-Guarding Spirit Beast? It was too ferocious!

Chen Zhuyun quickly reacted. In terms of Heart-Nature, he was much stronger than his two younger siblings. After all, he practiced martial arts and had endured far more hardship than a Nourishing Origin Realm Cultivator.

”Chen Zhuyun of the Chen Family greets... greets Uncle Yuan!” Chen Zhuyun bowed to Yuan Feng.

He remembered his mother telling him that his father and Yuan Feng treated each other like brothers, so Yuan Feng could definitely be considered part of the uncle generation. He gritted his teeth and called him that.

Yuan Feng was very satisfied when he heard Chen Zhuyun’s address. His gaze toward him softened a bit. Chen Fufeng’s eldest son was sensible.

He had sensed the three little ones the moment they entered the Back Mountain. He had left his Qi Imprint at the entrance.

The remaining two little ones followed suit, bowing to Yuan Feng and calling him Uncle Yuan.

”Did you come here today just to see me?” Yuan Feng looked at the three little ones, waving his hand. Black Demonic Power enveloped the three of them, shielding them from the blowing cold wind and chill.

”Yes, Uncle Yuan. Um, we won’t disturb Uncle Yuan’s cultivation anymore.” Chen Zhuyun cupped his hands. Now that they had seen the Clan-Guarding Spirit Beast, there was no need to stay here longer. If their father found out, they would definitely be scolded.

But speak of the devil and he shall appear. A figure clad in fiery red robes, holding a Talismanic Incantation, walked happily onto the cliff. Just as he was about to speak, he saw the three little ones protected by Black Demonic Power.

Chen Fufeng: ??

”What are you doing here?!” The sharp rebuke left the three little ones somewhat at a loss.

Chen Zhuyun stepped forward and said to Chen Fufeng: ”Dad, if you must blame someone, blame me. I was the one who brought Zhu Xiao and Zhuqing to see Uncle Yuan.”

Uncle Yuan?

Chen Fufeng first looked at the three little ones, then turned his questioning gaze toward Yuan Feng. The latter nodded slightly, indicating no objection.

”Ahem, since that’s the case, your Uncle Yuan still needs to cultivate, so don’t disturb him.” Chen Fufeng gave the order to leave, and the three little ones fled the cliff as if escaping.

Immediately, he apologized to Yuan Feng. He hadn’t expected his few little rascals to run to the Back Mountain Cliff. Fortunately, Yuan Feng was not the type of cruel and bloodthirsty Yao Beast, or the consequences would have been unimaginable.

”Old Chen, speaking of which, I am indeed part of their uncle generation. Let them come if they want to. Consider it a way to get acquainted.” Yuan Feng didn’t pay much attention to it. His inner Soul was human, and humans are social creatures who form communities.

Chen Fufeng shook his head and said: ”Zhuyun is fine, but Zhu Xiao and Zhuqing are too young and haven’t tested their Spiritual Roots, making them no different from ordinary people. The Back Mountain Cliff is cold and windy. Even with Brother Yuan watching over them, it’s better to be safe than sorry.”

As a father, it was impossible not to worry.

”Alright, alright. Next time they come over, I’ll stop them outside the cliff,” Yuan Feng waved his hand, then asked, ”Old Chen, why did you come to find me?”

Hearing this, Chen Fufeng shook the Fireball Talisman in his hand in front of Yuan Feng: ”What do you think, Brother Yuan? This is the Fireball Talisman I crafted. It’s enough to pose a threat to a Middle Stage Qi Refining Cultivator.”

”Oh? Activate it and let me see.” Yuan Feng stroked his chin.

Chen Fufeng was not one to be overly modest. After injecting a trace of Spiritual Energy, the Fireball Talisman in his hand was activated. A large fireball radiating scorching flames instantly took shape, capable of melting metal and dissolving iron with ease.

”The power is decent.” Yuan Feng reached out, operating the Guardian Vajra Body, and forcibly extinguished the fierce fireball.

With his current Demonic Body strength, even without using yao power or deploying the Guardian Vajra Body, taking a blow from such a Fireball Spell would not cause him much injury.

But he deeply understood that a lion uses its full strength even when hunting a rabbit. Even against a weak enemy, one must strike like thunder, leaving the enemy no room to breathe.

Subsequently, the man and the Demon Ape chatted for a long time on this wind-howling cliff.

It wasn’t until the great sun set in the west that Chen Fufeng stood up and said seriously, ”Brother Yuan, do you still remember Li Yuanji, who chased after me because of the earth origin fire lotus fruit?”

Yuan Feng nodded. Of course, he remembered, and asked, ”Old Chen, could it be that you intend to...”

Chen Fufeng looked beyond the cliff, a sharp glint flickering in his eyes: ”Many people know about me and the Li Family Brothers going out to search for treasure. Now, only I have returned, and I’ve even broken through to the Seventh Layer of Qi Refining. It’s inevitable that people will have suspicions.”

”Brother Yuan, if you cut the weeds but don’t remove the roots, they will grow again when the spring wind blows.”
