Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

111: Chapter 111 I’ll try my best not to let you die too painfullyFor the people of Origin Star, Lin Sheng’s arrival was undoubtedly a devastating natural disaster.

The main battleships of the Origin Star people had all participated in this expedition. Although the remaining warships could fend off the vast majority of monsters from Eighteen Stars, they could not stop Lin Sheng.

After a brief period of testing, Lin Sheng gradually grasped the rhythm of the battle.

The warships fighting him began to retreat steadily, and Lin Sheng launched his own offensive.

”Requesting backup! Requesting backup!”

In the Origin Star communication channel, the Commander of the fleet stationed on Origin Star kept transmitting signals for backup to the three terrestrial planets.

The fleets on those three terrestrial planets reacted quickly as well, taking action the moment they received the distress signal.

Warships flew out from the three terrestrial planets beyond Origin Star from time to time. Their target was clear: to kill Lin Sheng amidst the city ruins.

However, because the civilians on Origin Star had only been moved to areas far from the Warp Tunnel and had not actually left the planet, the Origin Star people did not dare to use antimatter weapons against Lin Sheng.

This made Lin Sheng extremely pleased.

The warships fired electromagnetic railguns at Lin Sheng while attempting to lure him into space.

Yet Lin Sheng was not one of those mindless creatures. As soon as the warships flew out of the atmosphere, he immediately stopped his pursuit.

He returned to the Ground, wantonly destroying the buildings of Origin Star.

Lin Sheng’s purpose in doing this was simple: he wanted the Origin Star fleet to fight him on Origin Star.

Compared to the Origin Star people, Lin Sheng didn’t need to be cautious while fighting on Origin Star, which gave him plenty of room to exert his full strength.

As Lin Sheng rampaged through the city ruins, the Origin Star Commander above saw this and dispatched several warships to try and lure him up.

But once the warships were directly above him, Lin Sheng immediately stopped destroying the buildings.

In an instant, his body expanded into a ”giant net.” Once the ”giant net” ensnared a warship, that ship was doomed to total annihilation.

Seeing this, the other warships abruptly halted their descent.

Then, they unleashed firepower below antimatter levels at Lin Sheng while accelerating back into the sky.

From this skirmish, the fleet’s Commander-in-Chief had already discerned Lin Sheng’s intentions.

Surprised by the intelligence Lin Sheng displayed, the Commander-in-Chief also felt an inexplicable surge of fear.

Previously, when the Origin Star people dealt with the aberrations emerging from the Warp Tunnel, they relied on powerful weapons and their intelligence to kite the creatures.

But Lin Sheng’s intelligence was not inferior to theirs; it was even significantly higher.

This time, their intelligence was useless against Lin Sheng.

”All forces, return to space and stand by.”

”Command center, prepare to use ’Fusion Strike’ on him.”

Seeing that Lin Sheng remained at a low altitude and refused to come up, the Commander-in-Chief recalled all the warships.

Originally, he was worried Lin Sheng would run around, so he wanted to lure him into space to blow him up.

But given the current situation where Lin Sheng stayed put, a ”Fusion Strike” became the optimal solution.

...

After the fleet flew out of the atmosphere, Lin Sheng thought for a moment and flew away from the ruins.

Ruins were just ruins, after all; it made sense for the Origin Star people to abandon them.

If he stayed any longer, the Origin Star people might use large-scale lethal measures against the area.

After being tricked once, the Origin Star people certainly wouldn’t be lured down again.

Therefore, Lin Sheng planned to relocate to a place where the Origin Star people would be constrained yet forced to fight him.

The Origin Star settlement on the other side of the planet was a good choice.

”Commander, something terrible has happened.”

Just as Lin Sheng set off, an urgent report came through the Origin Star communication channel.

”The monster has left the ruins! Its estimated destination is the settlement on the far side!”

Hearing this, the Commander jumped up from his seat in agitation.

”Accelerate the deployment of the ’Fusion Strike’! We cannot let it reach that place!”

Just as the Commander finished speaking, a helpless voice sounded in the communication channel:

”Reporting to the Commander, the target’s movement speed is too fast. The ’Fusion Strike’ cannot lock on!”

”Groups One and Two, move to intercept! You must not let it reach the civilian settlement!”

”Reporting to the Commander, its speed is too fast. It has already arrived.”

Listening to the reports, the Commander-in-Chief’s eyes widened, and his fists clenched tightly.

”All forces, move the warships above the monster. If necessary, we must ’prioritize the greater good’!”

Upon hearing this command, the communication channel fell into a sudden silence.

Everyone involved in the operation was intelligent; they knew exactly what ’prioritizing the greater good’ meant.

That was precisely why they fell silent.

Because if it truly came to the point of ’prioritizing the greater good,’ it would inevitably be a devastating blow to the people of Origin Star.

...

This was a city filled with light pollution.

The city’s buildings were generally quite tall, piercing through the clouds and reaching straight into the atmosphere.

Of course, that was an exaggeration, but as Lin Sheng looked around, the tallest buildings in the city were almost as long as his body.

Lin Sheng’s massive body circled above the city, exerting an unparalleled sense of pressure on the Origin Star civilians below.

Even though they had been reassured by the military in advance, the Origin Star civilians below fell into chaos upon Lin Sheng’s arrival.

Being reassured was one thing, but seeing Lin Sheng in person was quite another.

Upon seeing Lin Sheng’s eyes glowing with golden light, any living creature would instinctively feel a trace of fear.

Much less these defenseless civilians.

Faced with Lin Sheng, their feeling of powerlessness only made them descend into chaos as a way to alleviate their fear.

Looking at the Origin Star people below—some cursing loudly, others weeping with their heads in their hands—Lin Sheng actually thought they were quite pitiful.

Because of the decisions made by the higher-ups, those at the bottom had to suffer such a disaster.

Even if the higher-ups were doing their best to protect them, what use was such protection against a being like himself?

”Roar!”

At that thought, Lin Sheng looked up at the sky and let out a furious roar.

He opened his mouth and activated ”Mechanical Scourge.” As certain mechanical parts within his body began to reassemble, a cold mechanical voice rang out:

”There is no right or wrong in this war. You are merely pitiful people suffering from an undeserved calamity.”

”So...”

”I will try not to make your deaths too painful.”
