Immortality Starts With Investment

Chapter 763: Yao Yuezhi Suffered a Loss...

Yao Yuezhi smoothed the damp strands plastered to her smooth forehead. A faint, sweet cherry aroma lingered in her nose. Her eyes brimmed with disbelief and a trace of grievance. This was truly too much.

Luo Bingling—a mere mid-third heaven—dared disrespect a Half-Saint like her? Reversing the natural order—she intended to overturn the heavens? If she didnʼt reclaim the field. How could she ever intimidate Brotherʼs previous women into obedience?

Yao Yuezhi itched to summon her Ancestral Form and yank Luo Bingling off for a lesson. But with Ye Chen present, force wasnʼt suitable. Thus, she gathered her aura and laughed lightly. ”Brother, I felt guilty for killing Feng Youhuang and costing you a maidservant, but now that Sister Luo has emerged, Iʼm relieved. After all, sheʼs perfectly suited.”

Luo Binglingʼs lips curved in cold mockery. What use were verbal barbs? She had arrived first, yet Yao Yuezhi reaped all the benefits. Finally venting some frustration. Let her talk. And next—she refused to yield position. In high spirits, Luo Bingling focused solely on savoring the experience…

Verbal attacks proving futile, Yao Yuezhiʼs emerald eyes turned. A bold idea sparked. Her pretty face flushed faintly. But this was a battle for status—for dominance. She couldnʼt retreat. Thus, gazing at Luo Binglingʼs back and Ye Chen silently enjoying the show.

After a brief hesitation, her fair hands moved gently, tending to herself.

Half an hour later, a cry rang from the cave abode. ”Luo Bingling…”

Yao Yuezhi was calling her.

Assuming another verbal jab, Luo Bingling turned carelessly…

Splash…

A cup of crystal-clear tea splashed across her face. The fragrance filled her senses. Her eyes widened in disbelief. She hadnʼt imagined Yao Yuezhi could retaliate without Ye Chen.

This…

Why hadnʼt she thought of this revenge? The realization deepened her humiliation. She was retaliated against by a newcomer? She had to return it twofold! Thus, Luo Bingling accelerated, blurring like phantoms.

Yao Yuezhi sensed her intent. Common sense dictated stopping while ahead. But this battlefield allowed no retreat. Alone, her efficiency lagged. She hurried to Ye Chen.

”Yao Yuezhi…”

”Luo Bingling…”

”Yao Yuezhi…”

”Yao Yuezhi…”

”Luo Bingling…”

Ye Chen watched the two womenʼs water fight, expression dazed. It could be played like this? And he in the middle—truly collateral damage. Thus, three full days passed. The auction began today. Their special war finally ended.

”Enough, enough—go dry your hair…”

Ye Chen lifted them down one by one, urging cleanup.

Yao Yuezhi shot Luo Bingling a defiant glance, then gazed at her brother with aggrieved resentment before storming off huffily.

Watching his little tea princess depart, Ye Chenʼs lips curved. Yao Yuezhi had indeed suffered this time. Though her retaliation struck decisively. Her Heavenly Demon Body proved too dominant.

Luo Bingling put on a fierce display, but her stamina fell short. She held the advantageous position at first.

Yet she came three times before Yao Yuezhi even once—a devastating gap.

Halfway through, Yao Yuezhi grew desperate. She shifted into her Ancestral Form, trying to pin Luo Bingling down and switch places.

Ye Chen refused.

Having Luo Bingling as his Dao companion was one thing; Yao Yuezhi—it simply wasnʼt her turn yet.

Realizing that even Brother Ye Chen wouldnʼt side with her, Yao Yuezhiʼs eyes reddened with grievance. But it was only a minor setback. It wouldnʼt be long before her time came.

Ye Chen shifted his gaze to Luo Bingling. Truth be told, her decisiveness these past days had exceeded his expectations. The system prompt had long echoed in his mind.

”Congratulations, Host. New Dao companion added: Luo Bingling!”

”Luo Bingling gains high-quality Dao companion bonus…”

”Gift multiplier doubled; gift cooldown reduced to one day.”

”Luo Bingling: Eight-thousand-fold!”

She had truly given herself. What epiphany had struck during her seclusion? Ye Chen regarded her curiously.

Luo Binglingʼs mood soared with exhilaration. Since joining Ye Chen, she had always been the one wronged and stifled. Now, finally, she could hold her head high. Not only had she won the water fight, but midway, when Yao Yuezhi flew into a rage and enlarged to force a position swap. Ye Chen had unhesitatingly sided with her.

As expected, offering herself earned his favor. Even Yao Yuezhi couldnʼt compare. And those like Su Yuxuan—wait until she returned. She would reclaim every past humiliation one by one.

Regret filled Luo Bingling. Had she known offering herself yielded this, she would have done it sooner.

After lingering in the afterglow, Luo Bingling composed herself and looked up at Ye Chen. Originally, she planned to use his resources to rise. Then, once powerful, kick him aside. Or suppress him, forcing him to serve her.

But now, she suddenly felt it unnecessary. She had given herself to him. And Ye Chen wasnʼt bad—a powerful, handsome, heaven-defying talent.

As for bloodline—human, yes. But with the Innate Sacred Body Dao Embryo, he ranked among human nobility. No disparity in lineage. She could happily stay with him, ascending the immortal path together.

As for the Dao Cauldron—no rush. He was her man. If he withheld it, surely for good reason. She should understand.

Regulating her breath, she gazed earnestly at him. ”My War God Clan will send three Half-Saint powerhouses. They plan to ambush you the moment you leave the Immortal City. They even ordered me to act as a mole—backstab you at the critical moment.

”Over thirty top-tier prodigies—all Half-Saints—will join the assault. With your fallen cultivation, facing them head-on spells doom. So I suggest—after the auction, we donʼt leave. Stay with the Heavenly Demon Clan and shift the pressure onto them. Yao Yuezhi drained so much of your cave heaven origin—the Heavenly Demon Clan should bear the burden. You need only cultivate steadily. Your speed is astonishing—time is on our side. Once you reach the Saint realm, slaughter them all…”
