Chapter 53: Five Elements Concealment Technique

As Ye Chen handed over the Shadowless Cloak technique, Sun Ruoxin confirmed something in her heart: Ye Chen indeed had feelings for her. To be honest, she had looked down on him a little. A disciple from a small family, lacking ambition, only chasing after women. The most frustrating thing was that he was fickle, jumping from one woman to the next, always looking for someone new to fall for. A cultivator like that would inevitably be eliminated in the long run. He was far from the talents of Green Cloud City, who were solid in both cultivation and character.

Ye Chenʼs only redeeming quality, as far as Sun Ruoxin could see, was his generosity toward female cultivators. But generosity alone couldnʼt make up for a lack of strength. How long could someone remain generous without the strength to back it up?

Still, seeing the Shadowless Cloak in her hands, Sun Ruoxin allowed a smile to grace her lips. ”Since Junior Brother has put it this way, I wonʼt stand on ceremony. Thank you, Junior Brother! If I have time, Iʼll try to guide you a little.”

Ye Chen, with a beaming smile, handed over the gift. But inwardly, he was cursing under his breath.

Sun Ruoxin was indeed a bit shameless. She had been all smiles when he gave her the bracelet, but after a few lessons with no gifts, she hardly spared him a glance. She couldnʼt even be bothered to call him Junior Brother. Now, after receiving the Shadowless Cloak, she barely offered more than a casual acknowledgement and a vague promise of guidance when she had time.

As disdainful as he was, Ye Chen couldnʼt help but smile at the systemʼs notification that rang in his mind:

”Gift successfully delivered!”

”Gift: Shadowless Cloak.”

”Processing feedback….”

”Fifteenfold feedback.…”

”Reward: Five Elements Concealment Technique!”

Five Elements Concealment Technique: This spell allows the user to merge with the five elements, hiding their presence from detection. While concealed, the user can still move, but large fluctuations in spirit qi will reveal their position. This spell didnʼt just offer invisibility; it allowed movement while hidden! This was a thousand times more powerful than Shadowless Cloak.

After all, Shadowless Cloak could only allow one to remain stationary. But with the Five Elements Concealment, Ye Chen could move freely without fear of being caught. This made it an ideal technique for escaping any dangerous situation with ease. The fifteenfold reward was truly a generous boon.

Ye Chenʼs gaze toward Sun Ruoxin grew even more intense, filled with a renewed sense of admiration. Meanwhile, Sun Ruoxin, sensing his eyes on her, only felt more disdain for him. On the other hand, Sun Ye, standing to the side, was grinning ear to ear. He had made the sale, earned his commission, and had also handed a gift to his daughter. It was like heʼd struck two deals in one. This made Sun Ye grow more and more fond of Ye Chen.

...

After class ended, Sun Ruoxin simply muttered that she needed to go cultivate and immediately walked off. She didnʼt even spare Ye Chen a glance. This caused Sun Ye to furrow his brows slightly. But Ye Chen didnʼt mind. He smiled and bid Sun Ye farewell before leaving calmly.

It wasnʼt until Ye Chen had departed that Sun Ye walked to the back courtyard to find his daughter. ”Ruoxin, arenʼt you being a little too cold? He sent you such a precious gift.…”

Hearing her fatherʼs words, Sun Ruoxin raised an eyebrow dismissively. ”Dad, you donʼt understand. If Ye Chen is willing to give me such a valuable gift, itʼs clear he likes me a lot. For someone like him, no matter how I treat him, he wonʼt get upset. Heʼll keep sending me gifts regardless. But his one-sided affection really disgusts me. If I show him the slightest bit of kindness, he might think I like him back and end up clinging to me. What then? Being cold toward him is the only smart choice. Thereʼs no downside.”

If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

Sun Ye was a bit puzzled. But in the end, it didnʼt really matter to him. As long as Ye Chen continued sending gifts to his daughter, that was enough. After all, Ye Chen had proven to be quite generous.

Ye Chen didnʼt mind Sun Ruoxinʼs attitude. In fact, he could even understand it. Most women, if you showed them too much attention, would naturally put on an air of superiority. Even if their qualities didnʼt match yours in any way, theyʼd still manage to look down on you from the heart.

But Ye Chen truly didnʼt care. After all, he wasnʼt going to fawn over Sun Ruoxin for the rest of his life. Once he left Silver Moon Market and headed for Green Cloud City, he would surely encounter even more impressive female cultivators.

If she wanted to act arrogantly, then so be it. When he would stop pursuing her, he wondered if sheʼd feel a sting. And when his cultivation level rose, he couldnʼt help but think of the day when she would end up trying to chase him instead. That would be the time when heʼd make her use the Shadowless Cloak to dance for him.

Shaking his head, Ye Chen stopped dwelling on Sun Ruoxin and instead immersed his mind in the jade slip before him.

”Five Elements Concealment Technique….”

Ye Chen valued this spell highly. With the news of the Mo Family Ancestorʼs imminent passing, if no new Foundation Establishment cultivator emerged from the family, chaos would surely follow. When that happened, Silver Moon Market would undoubtedly be caught in the turmoil. Not to mention, there was still Jin Zhaodi, who was watching him with malicious intent. But with the Five Elements Concealment Technique, his abilities would receive a significant boost. Whether escaping danger or turning the tables in a fight, it would offer him more confidence.

Sadly, there was no critical hit today. He didnʼt get the guidance apparition, which would have accelerated his learning of the technique. It was a pity. As for Sun Ruoxin, it seemed that growing up under her fatherʼs influence had given her a more worldly view. Ordinary gifts were unlikely to impress her.

With these thoughts in mind, Ye Chen resumed his focused practice.

In the blink of an eye, a week had passed. Ye Chen had just barely mastered the Five Elements Concealment Technique. He could manage to hide in place using the power of the five elements, but the moment he moved even slightly, his invisibility would break, revealing his figure. However, as he delved deeper into his training, he began to realize the true strength of the technique.

Firstly, the duration of invisibility was impressive. As long as he wasnʼt detected, he could remain hidden for three days and nights without issue. In contrast, even at the peak of mastery, the Shadowless Cloak could only keep him invisible for two hours. Moreover, once the Five Elements Concealment Technique was fully mastered, he could move while still maintaining the invisibility state. It was insulting to compare it to the Shadowless Cloak.

Finishing his training for the day, Ye Chen made his way to Lin Keʼerʼs place. Lin Keʼer and Lu Jing had moved out of the outer areas and into a more central location. The rent was three low-grade spirit stones a month, which wasnʼt cheap.

However, whether by design or coincidence, their courtyard was still right next to his, making it incredibly convenient for Ye Chen to visit either of them. Today, he had a gift for Lin Keʼer.

Soon enough, Lin Keʼerʼs delighted expression greeted him as he presented the gift.

”Gift delivered successfully!”

”The gift is the Zen Mind Qi Observation Technique.”

”Processing feedback….”

”Ten times feedback activated….”

”Detection indicates that this gift is extremely important for the recipient and exceeds their expectations, causing a massive fluctuation in their mindset. Critical hit reward triggered!”

”Reward: Emperorʼs Qi Viewing Technique!”

”Emperorʼs Qi Viewing Technique: A royal technique of the Great Zhou Dynasty. Upon cultivation, one can observe cultivation levels, fortune, and vitality. It can peer through any concealment and see through an entire realm gap without being noticed.”

Upon receiving the feedback, Ye Chenʼs eyes lit up. The Emperorʼs Qi Viewing Technique was incredibly powerful. It allowed him to easily discern an opponentʼs cultivation, fortune, and vitality. Most importantly, it could bypass an entire realm gap, meaning he could now even see through those in the Foundation Establishment realm. And, best of all, the opponent would never know.

Incredible!

Perhaps because he was too excited, Ye Chen unintentionally exerted more force in his movements, causing Lin Keʼer to shoot him a playful glare. She gently removed his hand from her clothing.
