Weakest Beast Tamer Gets All SSS Dragons

Chapter 1082 - Taming the Wall - True Ruins - Link-up Inference

Lin was already on her feet, planted squarely at the base of the stairs in her combat stance. She merely shifted her eyes, catching him in her peripheral vision.

”I still have some residual fusion energy left over from the last battle,” she said. She didnʼt turn her head away from the dark shaft. ”I can buy you exactly five more minutes.”

Ren couldnʼt find the breath to answer.

Lin let out a small sigh.

”Ever since I met you, youʼve shown me an endless string of miracles,” Lin said. She didnʼt add any emotional emphasis, because in her mind, adding drama would only subtract from the absolute weight of the truth. ”I stopped believing anything was impossible for you a long time ago.”

A beat of heavy silence.

”So tell me… is it possible, or is it not?”

Ren kept his head buried in his hands, his fingers digging into his scalp. He was desperately, frantically searching his mental inventory for a solution, a shortcut, a hidden reserve, anything…

A few feet away, Liora was gnawing on her fingers. Her eyes darted wildly between Ren and the stairs. It was the frantic, consuming anxiety of someone who now possesses zero means to help, and knows their own helplessness is only making the tension worse.

Mayo let out a long, dramatic sigh.

”Miracles have levels, Lin,” Mayo drawled, her tone dripping with the forced casualness of someone saying something theyʼd really rather not say. ”The situation is screwed up enough without you breathing down his neck.”

She glanced over at Liora, then down at her own self.

”Besides, we non doubles are the useless ones to even make time at this point. We have zero energy left, and our baseline power against these ancient artifacts is basically zero. Weʼre dead weight in a straight fight right now.” She paused, her mouth twisting into a dark, self-deprecating smirk. ”Honestly? He probably should have brought Taro and Min down here instead of deadbeats like us… Itʼs not his fault not being god.”

Mayo had branded herself ʼuselessʼ entirely as a joke. It was a calculated attempt to throw herself under the bus to lighten the crushing psychological weight pressing down on Renʼs shoulders.

But hearing her say it, hearing that they couldnʼt do anything, triggered something.

A spark caught fire in Renʼs exhausted mind.

It wasnʼt a slow realization. It was a violent, blinding flash of connection, the exact moment two wildly disparate puzzle pieces finally slam together to reveal the picture.

”Maybe it is possible!”

Ren vaulted off the floor, his previous exhaustion obliterated by a sudden, manic surge of adrenaline. ”Forget Juliusʼ permission and take the potions! Right now!”

Mayo stared at him. The self-deprecating smirk vanished, replaced by genuine concern.

”You mean the Double-Contract potions on the pedestals?” Mayoʼs expression tightened, clearly evaluating whether the sheer stress of the situation had finally shattered his sanity.

”Ren, there are no beast eggs here. And even if there were, any beast weʼd contract right now would be an Iron-rank baby. What are we supposed to do with a microscopic bump to our overall power and mana pool? Weʼd be in the exact same useless boat we are right now, just with your weird mushrooms growing in our heads.”

”I have eggs in the Wolverineʼs spatial storage,” Ren fired back, already moving.

”What?”

”Dozens of them and multiple types. I sell them based on market scarcity, but Iʼve been hoarding a specific batch for years.”

Ren waved a hand, dismissing her confusion as he rushed forward. ”But Iʼm not giving you frontline combat beasts. These Iʼll give you are specifically tailored for newly ascended double-tamers.”

He stopped, locking eyes with Mayo, then swept his intense gaze over the other guards.

”You said it yourself a bit ago, Mayo. Youʼd all be infected by my spores. And that is exactly what I need!”

Lioraʼs eyes widened. She reached the conclusion half a second before Ren finished his sentence.

”Your network,” she breathed.

”Seven nodes,” Ren confirmed, his words spilling out with the rapid-fire speed of a man building the parachute after heʼd already jumped out of the plane. ”Even if the new beasts are barely Iron-rank, it doesnʼt matter. What Wei, Finch, and everyone else with my spores proved to me is that my system can interface with them if we are close. It works just like Selthiaʼs corrupted hive mind. Only with tamers who have my same mushrooms.”

Ren threw his hands out, aggressively channeling his mana to rip open the Wolverineʼs temporary spatial stomach.

”When theyʼre close to me! You get it? They feed into my sensory network! With just one person, the boost is barely noticeable. But with seven of you? Seven nodes simultaneously linked to my core through the improved spores?”

Renʼs eyes blazed with a desperate, hopeful light.

”You become my external brains. You can give me the exact mental push I need to shoulder the info load of transforming Sirius!”

Liora didnʼt wait for Ren to finish his sentence. She was already physically shoving Mayo toward the pedestals. She understood the urgency of their situation: every second spent explaining the plan was a second they were bleeding from their survival clock.

Ren pulled the eggs from his spatial storage. Seven of them, completely identical. Their ash-gray shells were laced with pulsing, glowing golden veins.

They carried the undeniable signature of his own deliberate cultivation. These were the golden successors, the heavily upgraded lineage of the original gray spore-beasts that had started it all.

The potions came first.

There was no ceremony, no hesitation… The girls grabbed the glowing vials and downed the liquid in single, jagged gulps. They were veterans; they had long since learned that monumental, life-altering moments rarely required elegant framing.

The contracts snapped into place a heartbeat later. It was a rapid process, the kind of fast-tracked bonding that occurs when time is the only currency that matters, and integrating a feeble Iron-rank beast into a seasoned Gold-rank Tamer requires zero physical or mental friction.

The girls synchronized with their new beasts… And instantly, the spores emerged.

Small, glowing with the bright golden tint of their upgraded lineage, the mushrooms bloomed onto the heads of their new hosts. They settled into the womenʼs nervous systems with the docile, placid energy of creatures utterly devoid of combat instincts, bred entirely for their utility in altering the bonding network.
