The Evolution of the Weakest Ghoul

Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Journey to the Destal Kingdom I

Ronan didn’t know how he had left the hall, but his emotions had been thoroughly crushed, and his hatred for Bama had only increased.

Why had he ever thought Bama could understand him?

That bastard had destroyed his life.

Ronan sighed. Living as a Ghoul-Vampire hybrid who couldn’t talk was difficult. But when he looked at his stats again, a smile slowly returned to his face.

Host: Ronan

Title: Locked

Race: Hybrid (Ghoul × Vampire)

Realm: Transcendent • Five Star

Trait: Blood Sucking Lv.1

Essence: 500/500 (Evolution to Ghoul Lord required)

Effect:

Low conversion of blood into Essence.

Body enhancement.

Low-level regeneration.

Stronger senses.

Abilities: Mind Manipulation Lv.1

Inventory: Evolution Card ×1

Ronan had learned that a single drop of blood was equivalent to 5 mL, and that one thousand drops were required to convert into a single Essence when his Essence was low.

That meant 5,000 mL—or five liters—of blood.

That was an enormous amount.

An average adult only had around that much blood in their entire body.

Ronan was surprised by the discovery, but that wasn’t all.

He needed to study his stats carefully.

After all, Bama had told him earlier that they would be heading to the Destal Kingdom.

What kind of place was the Destal Kingdom?

It was one of the strongest kingdoms on the continent.

Sovereign Realm experts were everywhere, King Realm experts were common, and only Supreme Realm experts were considered truly rare.

Ronan now understood that Sovereign Realm experts could destroy an entire city if given enough time.

That was because they had already undergone their first Trait evolution.

Levels 1–10 were considered unevolved.

Only upon reaching Level 11 could a Trait undergo its first evolution, granting its user massive new abilities.

As for the King Realm above it, those experts had undergone a second evolution.

Ronan could only imagine how terrifying they were.

And then there was the Supreme Realm above even that.

Ronan didn’t know much about it, but judging from the way Bama constantly bragged about his father, destroying a kingdom was apparently nothing difficult for the Duke.

Ronan had arrived with nothing, so he didn’t have much to pack.

He only took the ”beautiful clothes”...

He meant dresses.

The dresses Bama had suggested for him.

He had no choice but to wear them.

But now, Ronan also had a slave accompanying him.

Ronan looked at the beautiful woman beside him and sighed. She was bandaged up and smeared with medicine.

Her name was Yen.

Yes, she was the assassin.

A collar now surrounded her neck, and control over it had been given to Ronan.

That meant he now controlled her life and death.

Honestly, Ronan had no idea what to do with her.

Why?

Simply because he couldn’t fucking talk.

Having a slave was useless when he couldn’t even give her orders.

And after his experience with Bama trying to help him speak, he wanted absolutely nothing to do with that.

Never again.

Everyone kept misunderstanding him.

And Yen had already tried to assassinate him.

If she discovered Ronan’s secret, wouldn’t she expose him and implicate him?

Besides, what if the collar could also be used as a listening device?

Well, he didn’t have to worry about that for now.

He couldn’t talk anyway.

Still, when Ronan looked at Yen’s lifeless eyes, he couldn’t help but feel that there was more to this beautiful woman than met the eye.

Was he curious?

Hell no.

He was too busy thinking about how he could find five suitable bodies for his ritual once they reached the Destal Kingdom.

And, luckily—or perhaps unluckily—for him, his method of improving his Blood Sucking Trait involved killing vampires.

Sovereign Realm vampires.

Yeah.

Ronan was outright fucked.

---

”Are we all ready?” Bama asked with a smile.

At this moment, Bama, Selak, Ronan, and Yen were already outside the city.

Standing before them was a gigantic beast.

It resembled an elephant from Earth, except it had no tusks.

It stood ten meters tall and was more than fifteen meters long, with six powerful limbs and two trunks.

It was a Peak Transcendent Realm creature.

Despite its enormous size, it was incredibly fast and surprisingly docile.

It rarely attacked unless threatened, and even in the wild, it was known for its gentle nature.

Apart from its enormous size and Peak Transcendent Realm strength, it also possessed incredibly tough hide.

Even an ordinary Sovereign Realm expert would struggle to break through it.

It could also survive for several weeks without food or water.

It was practically perfect for transportation.

Of course, such a creature was extremely expensive.

An ordinary human could never afford one.

But then again...

Who was Bama?

Ronan nodded.

Bama smiled and hurriedly helped Ronan carry his small bag.

Selak then carried them all onto the back of the creature, where an old man at the Three-Star Sovereign Realm sat atop its head.

”Where to?” the old man asked with a smile as he gently rubbed the head of the giant beast.

The creature responded with a low, cow-like moo.

”The Destal Kingdom.”

Selak spoke as he tossed an emblem toward the old man.

The old man caught it.

The moment he saw the emblem, his expression changed.

His gaze toward Selak and the others immediately became more respectful.

They had direct connections to the Duke.

They weren’t ordinary nobles.

Meanwhile, Ronan was staring at the status panel before him in shock.

Bambi could temporarily release its stored vitality, dramatically increasing its movement speed and physical strength for a short period.

Earth Resonance Lv.9

Bambi could sense vibrations traveling through the ground, allowing it to detect approaching creatures, obstacles, and danger from a considerable distance.

Ronan finally understood why this creature could survive an encounter with a Sovereign Realm expert despite being only at the Peak of the Transcendent Realm.

As it turned out, it had already undergone its first Trait evolution.

The abilities were incredible.

Ronan was beginning to understand that Realm wasn’t the only thing that mattered.

Traits mattered too.

But he faced another problem.

His current Realm wasn’t strong enough for him to hunt vampires and improve his Trait.

That meant he had no choice.

He definitely needed to evolve into a Ghoul Lord...

And become stronger.
