Catastrophic necromancer

Chapter 4747: No Longer the Enemy of Heaven and Earth

With Lin Moyu’s understanding of the rules, everything that happened had a beginning and an end and would not occur for no reason out of thin air.

The evolution of worlds was like this, the great tribulations of worlds were like this, and so was the Great Annihilation.

All the rules and constraints were strict and absolute, all of them like this without a single exception.

When the ninth nine cycle world faced its ninth great tribulation, that marked the beginning of the Great Annihilation.

When the Great Annihilation destroyed all worlds, exterminated uncounted living beings, and turned all world remnants into wasteland, a new world would be born from that wasteland.

The Great Annihilation was a rule, and the new world was also a rule.

This was the very last thread of hope that the entire Great Annihilation left behind, the final chance.

If this new world born in the wasteland could not meet certain conditions, then it would ultimately collapse completely.

All world remnants would be completely erased, the Great Annihilation would thereby come to an end, and what followed would be a new cycle the Great Reincarnation.

To break the Great Reincarnation, someone had to step across the Forbidden Zone of Life, reach a level that no one had ever reached before, and obtain that treasure pointed to by the rules of heaven and earth.

All of this was extremely difficult so difficult that before his appearance, no one had ever managed it.

If the Yu God World could become a nine cycle world, it would be the first step in breaking those rules.

The tenth nine cycle world would be born in the wasteland, helping him successfully take that step, cross the Forbidden Zone of Life, and reach that level no one had ever attained.

Lin Moyu realized that his comprehension of the rules had deepened further, no longer confined within the worlds, and had begun to truly touch what lay beyond them.

The broader one’s vision and field of view, the broader the road ahead would be.

If one only ever followed in the footsteps of predecessors, one would often end up reaching only the same height as they did.

Only by stepping out of their shadows and walking one’s own path was there any hope of reaching a new summit.

Lin Moyu understood very clearly that this was exactly what he had always been doing.

His consciousness returned, and his scattered thoughts drew back.

Sincerely, Lin Moyu said, “Thanks. This time, I have figured out many things.”

The Hongmeng Gem laughed.

“As long as it helps Master, that’s good.”

Although it did not truly understand, it knew that Lin Moyu must indeed have figured out many important matters.

Because Lin Moyu’s gaze was no longer the same; it now reached much farther than before.

The Yu God World was still devouring and absorbing, but now that it was on the right track, Lin Moyu no longer needed to interfere and there would be no accidents.

He went to look at the little tree, and after the Yu God World advanced to an eight cycle world, the greatest changes were in the little tree.

The little tree had grown several times larger than before.

Originally, it had six branches, each with six leaves, for a total of thirty six leaves.

This time, however, the number of branches had increased a hundredfold, to a full six hundred branches growing out from its massive trunk in all directions.

Every branch was incredibly thick, and each branch bore six hundred leaves.

With the trunk growing larger and the branches and leaves becoming more numerous, naturally the roots had also become even more lush and immense.

The little tree radiated a powerful aura that seemed to surpass the worlds, coming from another level altogether.

The little tree had never truly belonged to any world, otherwise it would not have been able to enter the Forbidden Zone of Life and absorb and transform the power from there.

But Lin Moyu still felt that something was missing.

The little tree had once been the Chaos Ancestral Tree and was now the Hongmeng Spirit Tree, but it was not yet complete.

It possessed only a single Hongmeng Spirit Tree leaf, which was not enough to transform the little tree completely from the Chaos Ancestral Tree into a true Hongmeng Spirit Tree.

Its former identity as the Chaos Ancestral Tree still affected it.

To change this, that section of tree root from the great tribulation of the Chaotic Ancient Desolation was needed, because that root was extremely important to the little tree.

“By the looks of it, the great tribulation of the Chaotic Ancient Desolation should be nearing its peak. Time to go back.”

Lin Moyu left the Yu God World and returned to the Chaotic Ancient Desolation.

Faint light flickered over his body, and all the rules of heaven and earth retreated before him.

Lin Moyu found that he was no longer the enemy of heaven and earth; the world no longer treated him with hostility, and even the rules avoided him.

“Even you have started to fear me?”

Lin Moyu let out a quiet chuckle.

The reason things had become like this was that his soul had already broken past the Great Venerate realm.

With virtual and real fused, his soul was no weaker than that of a Supreme.

In fact, in the eyes of the worlds, Lin Moyu had already been ranked among the Supremes.

Moreover, because Lin Moyu had been born in the Chaotic Ancient Desolation, the world would not reject him.

Supremes and heaven and earth were at the same level, so the rules of heaven and earth naturally would not list a being on their own level as an enemy of heaven and earth.

If they truly did that, then no one in the entire world would be able to deal with Lin Moyu, and such an “enemy of heaven and earth” would simply be making life miserable for all living beings in that world.

With the hostility of the world withdrawn, Lin Moyu was no longer the enemy of heaven and earth, but his current identity was still exceedingly complicated.

He sat upon the Great Venerate’s throne and was the one destined to face the tribulation, while at the same time the world regarded him as a Supreme.

Under this pile of overlapping identities, no one could say clearly what was really going on.

Lin Moyu used the Nine Heavens Fate Art to inspect the rules of heaven and earth while also observing this great tribulation.

He even went so far as to alter some of the rules of heaven and earth, hiding his own existence.

There was no punishment from the world, because the rules of heaven and earth would not punish a being on the same level as themselves.

In Lin Moyu’s view, the rules of heaven and earth were perfect examples of bullying the weak and fearing the strong.

Knowing they could not deal with him, they decisively stopped resisting.

“Interesting.”

Because he had grown stronger, the destined tribulation bearer had changed, and the great tribulation of the world had also been brought forward somewhat.

At most fifty more years, and the great tribulation of the world would reach its peak.

At that time, that section of tree root would emerge.

Just like back when they fought over that strange flower, the appearance of this tree root would spark a battle of unimaginable ferocity among the top experts in the entire world.

But the situation now was different from back then.

Back then, there had been no true peak level existence.

Although there were differences in strength, everyone still had a chance, and anyone could fight to the death for it.

This time, several beings had already gone beyond the Great Venerate realm, and even the Great Venerates now had only a slim chance.

And this time, there was also himself…

“There is still some time. More than enough.”

With a quiet laugh, Lin Moyu unfurled the Wings of Heaven and Earth with a swish.

Working together with the Nine Heavens Fate Art, he forcibly altered the nearby rules of heaven and earth, making countless rules submit beneath his wings.

Lin Moyu hid his aura and existence with rules themselves.

Using rules to conceal himself was far more effective than any other technique or treasure.

He walked upon the rules, leaving behind runes wherever he passed.

These runes gathered into formations, large and small, spreading densely through the void and fusing into the rules until they became invisible and undetectable.

In the chaos and desolation, Lin Moyu used formations to lay down an unimaginably vast net, his handiwork far grander than the twelve great arrays of the Calamity Great Venerate.

He did not need, like the Calamity Great Venerate, to rely on strange powers from within the world.

Lin Moyu directly used the power of the rules of heaven and earth themselves, and the effect of his arrays was countless times greater than that of the Calamity Great Venerate’s.

With this heaven spanning net in place, the entire world was now within his grasp.

With his current power, he already had enough strength to crush them, and laying down this great array was simply to make everything even more secure and to guard against any accidents.

Lin Moyu was bold but never arrogant; he always acted with great caution.

Only by acting when he held an absolutely sure advantage could he guarantee that nothing would go wrong.

In the blink of an eye, several decades passed, and Lin Moyu had trodden across the entire Ancient Desolation.

The invisible giant net was now complete.

“It is about time for the Chaotic Ancient Desolation to welcome its true master…”
