Chapter 4570: No Room for Rebuttal

Stirring up authority was something Lin Moyu could also do; he directly invoked the Lower Domain’s Supreme, even though he had never truly met him.

He knew, however, that the Lower Domain Supreme and the Calamity Supreme were allied, so it was only natural they would know why he was there.

Sure enough, You Leng’s expression changed noticeably.

He did not totally trust Lin Moyu; it was just that Lin Moyu’s manner was so natural, as if it really was the case.

Besides, Lin Moyu’s status as the Central Domain’s Grand Elder was legitimate someone of this level would not lie without reason.

Moreover, there were no rules barring people from the Central Domain Divine Alliance from coming here.

At that moment, Lin Moyu sent a thought and dispatched an undead minion into one of the independent spaces where a giant beast had already entered, but there were no Lower Domain cultivators to stop it.

You Leng’s eyes shifted, his demeanor changing quickly. “So those puppets are yours, Elder Lin. Many thanks for your help.”

Lin Moyu replied, “It was nothing. You’ve been holding the beasts back from the Spatial Divine Mountain all this time it can’t have been easy.”

You Leng said, “This is our mission. It wasn’t difficult before, but this time something has made these beasts go mad.”

Lin Moyu explained, “Something happened in the Primal Wilderness that affected the chaos. These mindless beasts took the brunt and were most deeply influenced.”

You Leng: “So that’s why… No matter. Once the Supreme returns, these creatures will stand no chance.”

Lin Moyu’s heart stirred. So the Lower Domain Supreme wasn’t here, and needed time to return, meaning he must have gone far.

Primal Wilderness only if he went deep into the Primal Wilderness would he be unable to return at once.

Also, You Leng’s comment about their mission matched Lin Moyu’s own deductions.

Lin Moyu continued, “You Leng, your sword legacy comes from the Great Sword Sovereign, but I think you may have gone a bit astray.”

You Leng’s expression changed. “Why would Elder Lin say such a thing?”

Lin Moyu replied, “I have some connection with the Sword Sovereign and know her sword intent intimately. Her sword intent is pure and fierce, never borrowing outside power; yours is not the same. If I’m right, your inheritance is incomplete.”

You Leng sighed, “We did lose a part of our legacy, when a traitor among us once caused a disaster. This method may be flawed, but we had little choice.”

With that, Lin Moyu got the answer he was after. “When I see her, I’ll ask her to pass on another legacy to you.”

You Leng was doubtful. “Do you truly know the Sword Sovereign?”

Lin Moyu casually pointed. “One Sword Breaks the Heavens!”

A pure, fierce sword intent split space its force was not overwhelming, but You Leng immediately recognized the quality of the intent; it was exactly what he sought.

He instantly believed Lin Moyu. “You really are a divine figure, Elder Lin. Then, I entrust it to you.”

Lin Moyu replied, “As is right. Her legacy shouldn’t be lost. My own power is limited; all I can do is catch a few that slip through. The bulk will be up to you.”

You Leng said, “Your help is more than enough; a few getting through now and then is no great problem.”

Lin Moyu nodded. “Understood.”

More sword cries echoed from a distance. You Leng immediately said, “That’s another call for help I’ll go support them.”

Turning into a streak of sword light, he sped off to assist his kin.

Lin Moyu, having gotten what he wanted, continued to dispatch undead minions to help block the beasts.

What was shaping up to be a hard fought battle of attrition grew easier thanks to his intervention.

Soon they stabilized the lines, got reinforcements, and at the right moment Lin Moyu withdrew his minions, activated the Hidden Spirit Pearl, and quietly slipped away.

He left in haste, and in just two days was out of the Lower Domain core, unable to sense the Spatial Divine Mountain at all.

Only now did Lin Moyu finally relax.

His fist remained clenched, his heart a little excited not because of a new cultivation level, but from unraveling certain truths.

From You Leng’s information, he learned that the Lower Domain Divine Alliance’s mission was to guard the area, keeping giant beasts out of the Spatial Divine Mountain.

The Lower Domain was originally the World Shading Beast’s inner world, full of the blood, flesh, and will of countless powerful creatures a chaotic place.

The humans who managed to endure became stronger by tempering their Dao heart in the chaotic will.

Those who failed to withstand it transformed into the bizarre giant beasts.

All these beasts shared a common instinct: to enter the Spatial Divine Mountain.

Normally, this urge was weak and only occasionally drove them to attack the mountain.

But this time, something from the Primal Wilderness had agitated them, triggering a mass frenzy and catching the human cultivators unprepared.

As to why the mountain was being attacked, it likely had to do with Calamity Supreme’s grand array.

Once Lin Moyu had calmed down, Chaos Child asked, “Master, can you tell us now?”

Lin Moyu replied, “Yes, but don’t be shocked. These are only my deductions don’t ask for proofs or reasons.”

Chaos Child agreed. “We won’t, Master! We’ll behave!”

Lin Moyu said, “Here’s what I’ve deduced: the one you most fear is the World Shading Beast.”

“Ah!”

Chaos Child shrieked, and Little Tree couldn’t help blurting out.

Both looked at Lin Moyu not disbelieving, exactly, but not daring to believe.

They wanted to ask why, but Lin Moyu had already said not to.

Lin Moyu went on, “…There’s reasoning behind my guess. First, the World Shading Beast was extremely powerful even in your era, he wasn’t yet dead. And, going by your accounts, he is almost impossible to kill; I can’t imagine anyone who could.

Second, the true body of the Spatial Divine Mountain is entirely unscathed if the beast was killed, its core would not be like that.

Its flesh and inner world became the Lower Domain; its true body, the Spatial Divine Mountain, is the core; its hide, the barrier between Lower and Central Domains.

It looks as if he was dismembered, but a dismembered being should show injuries and there are none, not even a mark. That is not right.

From this, I guess the World Shading Beast didn’t die what happened to his soul? Where did it go?

You all know he only appeared late, but you were already dead by then and never truly met him. Isn’t it possible he used his spatial powers to kill you?

Don’t rush to refute this. From the ground here, it’s clear the World Shading Beast could devour all life including their blood, flesh, soul, and maybe secret arts.

Building on this, I suspect that later on he obtained the flower, which allowed his soul to break free from his body, becoming a new entity.

So he became the ’Dao,’ and what remained underwent other changes, a price he paid.

But something went awry in this process. The transformation was incomplete, resulting in the Lower Domain. That’s why he’s never been able to master the whole chaos after so many eons.

This time is his chance. He wants to fix what went wrong, and as his true body, the Spatial Divine Mountain is key he has to regain it.

But for certain reasons or rules, reclaiming the Spatial Divine Mountain isn’t easy he’s subject to restrictions, maybe left over from that long ago incident.

That’s my deduction.”

Little Tree and Chaos Child listened carefully, and their eyes grew strange.

They had to admit, Lin Moyu’s logic was sound.
